The Nintendo Switch is a hot commodity and has exceeded sales expectations across the board. Bloomberg has published speculation by analysts that a new variation of the home console could remove the docking feature and solely be a handheld gaming device.

Interesting speculation which may mean a lot for Pokémon fans if a main franchise title does indeed end up on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s integer overflow. A signed 32-bit (4 byte) integer can only hold up to 2 ^ 15 – 1, after which it overflows and ends up on its lowest number, -2^15.

That would involve explaining what the stack is, which would require explaining what a function is and what a return address is. And explaining that it happens when too many functions are called or when a function is recursive.

Well, I do know functions and return adresses but I don’t think I’d get it either way.
Basically when you call a function the cpu needs a way to remember which function to return to when it’s done with the active one. That way is by storing the address of the instruction after the call on a place called the stack. If you call too many functions the stack can’t handle all the return values and it ‘overflows’ (which could have different results depending on the CPU. One result is that the stack pointer has integer overflow and ends up at the first stack item, unaware of what’s happened).
I’ll give a more in depth answer next time.

Ehh, I’m glad people enjoy it, though I’m not really a fan. Other then Treasure Knight, I don’t really see any of these as a real improvement. Most of them are about equal in quality to the original, but a handful I’d say do look worse.

Hmm, I guess I’d more word it that a lot of them look more like their the original characters, but now with larger breasts. Cases like Treasure Knight and Queen Knight I really like because they did go out of their way to make a design that looks more like a woman, where I feel a lot of the others were a tad phoned in, or simply weren’t designed in mind for this to be a feature to begin with.

It’s region free, so normally yes. You do need US based eShop codes if you want to buy on the US store (can be purchased online though), and maybe even an American credit card, but for the rest you should be fine :). Enjoy the Switch!
