Two New Sun & Moon 3DS Themes Released

Two new themes for the Nintendo 3DS have been released, both based on last month’s hit titles Pokémon Sun & Moon. They are already available for purchase in Japan, but will soon launch in both North America and Europe.

What do you think? Enough to warrant a purchase?? I’m sure some of you may have gotten an eShop gift card or two 😉

  1. Bored Fakemon time!
Now in my Eyanu Region some of the first creepy crawly Pokemon you find are

    Heirlittle (placeholder name)
    Bug
    Shield Dust
A tiny green caterpillar with a blue jewel on its rear and four yellow speckled horns that resemble a crown
“They were considered rare and valuable Pokemon in ancient times, but as time went on they could be found nearly everywhere, their jewels gleam when danger is near”
    Then into

    Krystasis
    Bug
    Shield Dust
A metallic colored cocoon with various shiny spots on the outside with a pair of stern eyes it highly resembles a faberge egg
“Heirlittle find a safe place to evolve into Krystasis, they’re completely motionless in this state, they are found in dark places since sunlight reflects brightly on their shellsLastly Emproyal

    Emproyal
    Bug/Psychic
    Marvel Scale
A emperor butterfly Pokemon with bright sapphire wings with the gem cut pattern, they have wide eyes and a upward pointing proboscis and a fluffy gold grey body with tiny digitless legs and a sapphire shaped thorax and they have five long antenna each having a colored dew that glow blue
“They send ultrasonic waves with the flap of their wings that can disorient bigger stronger Pokemon, they can use their glowing rears to hypnotize others into defending their nests”

    • Now there exists a second Regional Bug but it is fairly late due to geography limitations
      Shiverpillar
      Bug
A tiny light blue caterpillar Pokemon with fluffy white fur, and beady eyes
“Their bodies are constantly below suitable temperatures, they scavenge for discarded fur to add to their bodies to stay warm”
      Into
      Bundulbug (was originally Coldcoon)
      Bug
A extremely hairy pupa Pokemon with many many layers of wrapped white, black and blue fur with a Pom Pom of fluff on the top, no visible eyes
“Forced to evolve to stay warm, Bundulbug store all their heat inside their cores and wait eagerly to evolve”
      Finally they blossom into
      Mothedral
      Bug/Ice
A gigantic white moth with icy blue eyes and very bushy antenna, their most notable feature is their gigantic ice like wings that are extremely similar to stained glass
“After enduring the cold for so long their scales froze over and crystallized, they can absorb and refract light through their wings to attack”

  2. I just saw someone ask for ORAS on Switch…..umm…..Where do I begin.

    – inser 50 paragraph saying why that person needs a trip to the psychiatrist –

And that’s why asking for an already made game for a different console is a terrible idea!

  3. I Just thought of something, just like we’re able to ask for a pokemon with a specific gender and level in GTS it would be nice to request wich item is holding too.

That would make trade evos much easier to get because if you want to evolve a feebas you could ask for a feebas with a scale (something easy to get) instead a Milotic (something People arent likely to trade)

      • Final types no clue but Starting as usual as Normal and Normal/Flying but this may change if I think of something better

        • Hmm, I think if they stay part normal then Normal/Ground, Normal/Grass or Normal/Water could work for the shrew. Even Normal/Ice could work. Do you have an idea for evolutions?
Kingfisher seems like it would be Flying/Water.

    • I like it, I could see the Kingfisher being a Water/Flying type later on. My bird and rodent is:
      Normal Type Degus (Rodent)
Normal/Flying Mockingbird whose last stage is a Harpy Eagle (Normal/Flying)

  4. Just hatched a shiny wimpod after 304 eggs (Masuda Swap method). It is adamant with 5 ivs and a random (but very good) Defense (27 iv).

    • My biggest fear of this game
I fear that this giant world is just going to be too much, don’t get me wrong, I love spending hours on end just roaming game worlds and soaking up every detail, but this this may actually take the cake, I will admit the biggest open world game I’ve ever played would have to be either WOW and Fallout
And I’ve roamed every inch of the game (minus Legion I’m still getting through it) and I love this, but this….I’m honestly a little intimidated….I’m afraid that unless the story keeps you on a bit of a path you’re just going to spend so much footwork on empty areas

One thing that still rings in my mind, with the ability to climb nearly anything in a interview they claim that one could access the Final Boss, and that scares me

      • Personally what I’m worried about is emptiness is the world. I mean just open mountains and plains with nothing to interest people.

That being said, the thing I’m looking forward to the most is the open world, as I usually have a blast exploring.

Also, they’ve outright said that the final boss will be available near the start.

          • That’s fair. There was the golf course, the Kalos Alola power plant, the light house, the scary house, the train station, etc.

I’m hoping stars brings more purpose to those. As much as I love Alola and sun and moon, I feel that they rushed to push out the game on their anniversary.

          • Oh there’s so much. The golf course which takes up a quarter of the island, the power plant, the 2 big resorts on Akala where only the reception floor is accessible, the lighthouse, the Malie Garden tower, 1 house in Po Town is accessible, ugh.

          • Yeah. . .
But my point is that Alola isn’t the only place like that. Kalos is just as guilty, but it’s less evident since there just isn’t a lot of landmarks to remember.

          • They are connected and we will get a Kalos/Alola dual-region game. That’s the hope, but it will never become the reality…

          • As much as I love getting a new game almost every year, I really wish GF would take more time on each game to make things like these happen.

          • I have a sick feeling that a dual-region game will never happen again because their philosophy of each game being unique. And with GSC/HGSS being the only times to have such a feature…sigh

          • Kalos, Alola, and Unova, bam. Then Sinnoh remakes happen and everyone cries it’s only 1 region and Sinnoh is hated more than ORAS.

You know I can actually see GameFreak going down this route!

          • Also I’ve heard that the golf course is accessible through hacking and was supposed to act like a battle facility, not sure on the source though.

  5. When Bank becomes available, I’ll be leaving my Talonflame behind in Gen 6. I’ll let it forever live in its glory gen rather than bring it along to be miserable.
