I think you’re misinterpreting. They’re saying putting Johto pokemon in a new region, which makes them adapt.

One last thing I must say about this region. I went it in 95% blind. And Discovering new pokemon in games in MUCH better than discovering new pokemon on a trailer. When I first say Crawbrawler I literally died laughing because it was cute and funny with its blue claws I definitely recommend going in a new region blind for anyway. I might do this from now on!

It was pretty hard to make a balanced team because I am really against having multiple pokemon on my team with the same type, but it was kinda fun at the same time. I was pretty much testing every new pokemon I caught.

Well the way I see it is that it’s HP base stat is only 60 in both forms. But both defenses are 100 in meteor form. I max is out so that it will guaranteed survive anything that isn’t a sweeper’s STAB super effective attack. And then Shell Smash and dropping below 50% helps me sweepem hard.
