The new Pokémon Sun & Moon anime seasons looks quite different from than those that came before it and now fans can finally get a taste of what the English version will look like! While the first episode debuted hours earlier here in Japan, fans can get a ‘sneak peak’ in the UK on November 20th, with the full series debuting next year.

OH MAN! This trailer makes this look so FREAKING AWESOME!!! I can’t wait for the show to come to the US. Apparently the first 2 episodes are great and the problems people were afraid of are more or less nonexistent lol
Quick summary of what I noticed in the first two episodes of the Japanese dub.
1: Ash retains his XYZ competence, with added goofy elements to his personality
2: Pikachu’s Z-Move is badass
3: The wild Litten seen in the previews and the first episode will eventually be caught by Ash, as a Torracat
4: Mallow and Kiawe are awesome
5: Kiawe will eventually become Ash’s rival
6: Lana, Lillie and Sophocles didn’t really impress me, hopefully that’ll come
7: Battle animations are gorgeous
Sun/Moon anime is Black and White done right and flawlessly.

Well I think it’s time I got back into the Pokémon anime! Definitely going to watch this season through to the end!
I like that the japanese trailers were goofy with comedy in it, while the english one is epic and kinda serious. Reminds me of how in Kirby´s japanese box art he is smiling while in the english one he seems angry or serious

For me Dhelmise, because you have 3 mons weak to fighting and he may become handy
True, but one of them is also Flying which is strong against Fighting…
Design wise Kommo-o is much better IMHO
I looked at the moves each one can learn and Dhelmise has some pretty good ones, where as Kommo-o I’d basically have to use TMs for it to have cool moves. But I do like Kommo-o….

Should I go with Kommo-o it’d be Clanging Scales, Noble Roar, Focus Blast and Outrage which doesn’t excite me… With Dhelise I’d have Anchor Shot, Power Whip, Phantom Force and Shadow Ball which the move pool there excites me more… But I do love Kommo-o… I could put Kommo-o on my Sun team instead of Toxapex…

honestly there are enough grass/ghost pokemon now, why we needed another one is beyond me, id go with Kommo-o
I don’t know if I’m sold on Kommo-o any more… I looked at it’s move pool and it doesn’t wow me… Got any suggestions besides Dhelmise?
I like Morelull2 but you do you, go for something that you’ll like, or do what I do when I’m not sold on a team and just go in and use whatever you catch that feels right
The three I’m leaning towards are Kommo-o, Dhelmise, Alolan Raichu… I’d use Komala but I’m all Normal types as it is already… Maybe Mimikyu too… I’d normally place a Water type but I’m not a fan of any of them this go around… And I’m trying to use all new Pokemon (less the Alola versions)… I mean, yes my teams will change as I play, I know this… Maybe I’ll do Lurantis or Comey… I don’t know… Seeing Kommo-o’s move set just ruined it for me…
Comfey is a really good healer so it will be helpful for in game double battles, if there are many (doubt it) Lurantis should do fine though
Watch I end up with my Umbreon in the end…
The new anime feels like a huge improvement from XYZ, but IMO Indigo league will always be the best ever. Nostalgia I guess

XYZ were great, but just for different reasons. The show has never felt “serious” up until that point. Sure they’ve had darker points here and there, but you never felt like it was something to worry about. XYZ however did things pretty well and was well received for it’s push for more “mature” (sort of) content. I liked it, but just like Ash I could use a vacation so comedy is a nice change of pace lol
I couldn’t stop myself. I watched both episodes in full and I gotta say…….I FREAKING LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!! The new series is so freaking good if the first two episodes are anything to go on! The animation is great, the characters are likable (Minus Sophocles) and the fact that Ash still seems competent is amazing. the episodes had the right amount of goofiness and seriousness to make you like all of it. I seriously can’t wait for these new episodes to come to the US. It was just so much fun to watch. I loved XYZ for it’s ability to take the seires as a whole down a darker path, but this is a great way to do comedy. Moving the show into a more funny direction doesn’t mean it’ll be bad. Quite the opposite actually if the series is anything like these two episodes lol

I’d imagine the demographic for that and Pokémon are almost identical. Also the Marvel cartoons are on there. XD sounds like heaven for 10 year old boys. (And girls if they’re into these franchises.)

Seeing as Pokemon is already a kids show you’re prolly right, but certain channels have their own rules on what they will show. Granted it’s a completely different show altogether, when Naruto Shippuden was on XD they dubbed it for younger audiences and wiped it clean of anything that would deemed “too mature” It completely ruined the show for me as that was not what Naruto was about. again tho Pokemon is already a show for children so it prolly won’t change, but as a Grumpig old man I DON’T LIKE CHANGE!!! hahaha

the only reason they changed the last time the show moved channels was because The Pokemon Company took over the dubbing. The move had little to do with the change in VAs

Lol being “mad rich” means very little. 1. CN has Viacom money. Which is a media conglomerate like Disney.
2. These are investments. These companies don’t just throw money as a franchise for fun. If their number crunchers think they can make a certain % return on their investment, then they do it. If they don’t think they can, then they invest that money elsewhere.

I think what I like the most is the fact that it seems like it can easily go back and forth between super goofy and serious. I feel like it’ll be easy for them to introduce a slightly more serious tone later on in the show if needed. Maybe not to the point of XYZ, but more than it seems they have now lol

So honest thoughts:
Nice to hear Ash’s voice is still the same, though I’ve always been curious is Ash voiced by a man or woman? I know the OG ash was a woman, and she has done some fantastic work since, but this ash has always made me question.
Supporting case seems competent
That one random team skull grunt sounded kind of like Teruteru from Danganrompa to me, which means reguardless if it is the Same VA or not I shall read all of team grunts lines in his swave, southern dandy style voice, only to break into his Boomhower esk voice when their defeated.
And cool its on a different network, which honestly is probably for the best. XD’s pretty good for their Saturday morning lineup, where CW seems to keep their strength in their prime time shows.
CN made the pokemon anime just a timeslot filler.
I won’t deny that either, but still it seems like a good deal for both of them. CW”s not paying for a show they don’t really care about, meaning they can invest the money into new shows(like Infinity Train please), and XD get’s another good show to draw people to them.

If you have a like a big gold chain or golden something(I dunno maybe like cane? necklace? goddamn tiara?) like 2 kg of gold. Would you wear it in public on daily basis? or will you wear it for special events only?
