  • Primarina is Popplio’s final evolution, Water/Fairy. New signature move Sparkling Aria heals the burns of those it hits

      • Well, I may have some good news for you then. While there’s no telling how many more there’ll be, I actually got to meet and speak with the voice actress of Nurse Joy, Bonnie, and a few other characters from the Anime. (http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Alyson-Leigh-Rosenfeld/)

        I was at a convention with my booth, and got to speak with her in person. I asked her if “The 81 was really the full amount of Pokemon” and while she couldn’t give me any specifics, she did say that “If you’ve seen the 81, then you’ve seen almost everything”. This could mean there’s still a handful of new Pokemon we haven’t seen yet, so while we may not get a ton more, we can expect more than just 81, but by how many, we can’t possibly know yet.

        • Little bit. But forreal. If people’s only measurement for fun and quality of a new Pokémon game is the number of new Pokémon… then that’s their prerogative but it’s clear they will no longer enjoy a single Pokémon generation from here on out.

  7. Since the final Starter Evolutions just got revealed via TCG. And since Alolan Dugtrio is in the demo. I say that either both or at least one of the two will be revealed. Hopefully they’ll tell us the connection between the starters and Rockruff if they do show the finals in today’s news.

  71. After seeing the final starter evolution’s in game I have to say they are probably my favorite trio of starters. I’ve always had one starter I never really liked or used much from each generation but I can see me using all three and right now not sure who to choose which is a first for me. Also Red and Blue in the game! WOW! Everything outside of the story is excellent so I hope that the story matches the quality of everything else.

      • Yeah when the leaks first appeared I didn’t actually like any of them but seeing them in game with those typing’s as well I was impressed. Should never judge pokemon on a leaked picture eh! Grass/Ghost was definitely a surprise but I thought it was strange to have a part flying starter due them always throwing a regional bird our way for flying purposes.

    • I actually dislike Dartrix and Decidueye (please people let me live), I just think they look silly. First the hairdo and then a hoodie I just kinda lol’d at that.

      Although objectively I do get why people like them so much, they are just not for me.

      • Decidueye could ultimately have a cooler design, and I will admit it’s my least favorite amongst the the three but man this surprise ghost typing really makes me adore it. I’m thinking that I may actually try to use all three starters in my first initial playthrough

        • I don’t do competitive play or look to optimice my Pokemon/Team, so I mostly go by the looks of a Pokemon and pick the ones I visually like the most. So even if a Pokemon has an awesome typing I probably won’t use it, if I don’t like it. For a ghost/grass type I’d even prefer Trevenant, since I really like the idea and it’ s design.

          But don’t get me wrong, I understand why so many people are happy about this typing and don’t want to badmouth it, just giving my two cents. ;3

    • I’m afraid that the league thing will be a clifhanger just like how the stones in Geosenge Town just remain destroyed. But on the other hand the Alola league can’t be a cliffhanger since you have to be the champion to use the Battle Tree Facility

  77. Let’s reflect on the most legendary leaks in history. Never before have Pokémon been leaked so early. It excites me how whoever did that will likely never speak up about it. Well I must say, Decidueye’s typing shocked me a little but I’m really happy about it! Primarina and Incineroar aren’t too bad either, albeit predictable.

    • I wonder if the leak is the sole reason why Gamefreak has revealed these evos today. They haven’t officially revealed the final starter evos pre release in years, have they?

      • Typically they don’t officially reveal them until just after the games come out. In years past it’s been left up to CoroCoro for it so usually it’s the next month after.

      • My theory is because there’s going to be another reveal like this where they reveal their alternate forms. Remember last gen where the revealed the mega evos of the kanto starters, then in a different reveal, revealed Mega Charizard X to raise the hype?

      • These final evos are leaked in June and confirmed after the datamining the demo file. This is a legit thing that Game Freak could give to us.

  82. WOW!!!! Can honestly say I did NOT see that coming. I wouldn’t have thought they’d reveal the final evos until next month. Plus revealing the old characters and that a league is in the process of being built is pretty surprising as well! To be fair tho the most surprising thing from this video is Decidueye’s type! Grass/Ghost? I would have never pegged it for that typing. I’m glad Incineroar is Fire/Dark!! If it had been part Fighting type idk what I would have done…….lol Anyway, anyone else trying to figure out how to say Decidueye? Is it decide-you-eye?

  88. There was so much pressure on these games to be great, not just as the beginning of gen 7, but as the 20th anniversary games that celebrate the series as a whole. I gotta say, I haven’t even played them yet but I think Gamefreak have truly done a slam-dunk this time. Sun and Moon look to DIE for.

    • The official website is classifying Cosmog as a different pokemon. If it is anything like Riolu (into Lucario) and Zorua (into Zoroark), Cosmog will evolve into a different pokemon, and not legendary.

        • It either:
          1) Evolves into the one next to it, who then evolves into the legends.
          2) Is a Duo with the one next to it and evolves into a Legend.
          3) Evolves into the one next to it, but it’s a 2 stage line that summons the legends.
          I like option 3 the best Logically so a legendary doesn’t evolve and you don’t need to train it to get the big legend.

    • I imagine the league is for regular trainer and the tree is for only those who have proven themselves. Maybe you have to beat the league before challenging the tree. Or maybe the league only becomes complete after you beat the tree in its first form? lol

    Cosmog appears to be the thing in Lillie’s bag, and somehow will turn into Solgaleo/Lunala (?).

    Can we confirm Red and Blue will be in the Alola Elite Four by now? Or are they organizing/creating the Elite Four?

  117. I’m not really enthusiastic about the starters moves. I mean, Rowlett one is kinda boring when ghost type with shadow tag exist (so if you want that role for your ghost, why to choose him?). Tiger one may be good against great wall who boost their defenses, but what else? Cause it will not ignore opponents boosted attacks and speed for sure. Faboulosity one is like a counterpart of scald. The question is: why do you want to hit your opponent and heal its burn? Cause from the trailer it looks like a damaging move so I assume that it has a really low base power otherwise you cannot use it on your own burned pokemon. Also why only burn?

    • Greninja had a lot of personality. The other two were completly overshadowed so we cannot really tell.But I agree these ones have a lot of personality.

      • I actually never liked Naruto-Frog.. I still don’t get why it is so popular, except for being in the anime. I really dislike it’s design, but that’s just my opinion.

        And I do like Delphox, I still remember how everyone hated it, though. Can’t say I have any real opinion on Chesnaught.

  121. Holy Arceus!!! My beloved owl is a Ghost type!!!! A starter who is a friggin ghost type!!!! How amazing!!! Primarina is amazing too! It’s name and it’s type are both amazing. Incineroar looked better in video I admit, but it’s still one of my least favorite final starter evolutions yet. Loving the Tapus too! Fell in love with Fini since the leaks, Lele looks great, and I like Bulu now that I’ve seen it in video. Im glad they changed up their types and didn’t just become Oricorio’s types replacing Flying with Fairy

      • You obviously did not see the official site. It’s classified as a entirely different Pokemon. I do not mean to disappoint you or anything. When Lucario was first reveiled I though it was a Legendary Pokemon until Diamond and Pearl had demos released. Then as Serebii did a coverage of the games, I was taken by surprise that it had a pre-evo (Riolu). It is what I would like to call “the Lucario Theory.” Since Zoroark followed when Gen V was first announced and its pre-evo Zorua was revealed for the final movie for Diamond & Pearl.

  133. Sorry I wasn’t here until now, I had things in the morning that I had to do, but I’m super excited 😀
    I am shocked at the Grass/Ghost typing for Decidueye, but I like it. 🙂 And I’m glad Incineroar is Fire/Dark, as well (I’ve fully accepted it at this point, and yes I’m still getting a female one named after my irl cat, because she’s an outdoor cat that liked to get into fights and acts like a Dark-type to me) and Primarina, I love the name and its in-game model AND ITS CRY <3. definitely looking forward to using it after the other two. ^^
    I like all the Tapu's designs, specially Tapu Lele and Tapu Fini. PLUS WE KNOW HAVE ALL THE ISLAND NAMES AND GAMEXPLAIN WAS RIGHT ON THE NAMES AND PLACEMENTS <3 I suspected it too awhile ago, but I'm glad it's officially confirmed now. And their Z-move looks weird at first and sort of reminds me of Power Rangers for some reason. xD
    Cosmog is super important, since Lillie has it. I just want to know if its a prevo of Lunala or just a smaller form of it.
    The League/Battle Tree stuck looks interesting, but not sure how much I will use it.

  135. AAAHHH! SO EXCITED! Looks like we’re finally going to get a super boss battle with both Red AND Blue! I remember training so hard to beat Red in HeartGold… the League seemed like nothing compared to him! And maybe Wally will finally be able to beat me.
    And Alolan Persian looks super goofy, but I like that Fur Coat is one of its abilities. It was awesome on the Furfrou I used one playthrough.
    And move over Delphox, Primarina is the girliest-looking fully-evolved starter ever.
    And I’m really happy Incineroar is Fire/Dark! And that winking animation in Refresh.. priceless!
    Not sure why Decidueye ended up being named that… or being Ghost type (did it die?)

    • I seriously think Ghost, Dark and Fairy make a great combination together, although my favorite starter out of the three has a harder time than the rest. The combination makes me remember the Gen 4 trio, where they all had an advantage when battling each other.

          • Yes I’m not saying the leaker is going to get everything right as you said Alolan Raticate and Ninetales typing but look at everyone was saying about the leaks in June even the that the pics were fake and I’m not saying he didn’t add some fake stuff of his own but I’m just saying maybe to throw off the leaks GF also put the normal forms of Pokemon to throw us off

      • That was a separate leak that gave those typings. They were from Reddit. They got their own things right, but were more so their own leak rather than being part of the Chinese leaks.

          • You need to try then. Try looking for a job that makes you happier, try going out and meeting new people, try finding a new hobby that you enjoy, try to make yourself healthier. You can complain all you want about how sucky a life you have, but in the end it’s up to you to make your life what it is. It’s not always going to be happy times sure, but ultimately it’s your own fault if you don’t at least try to make it better.

  154. So upon looking at th site and watching the trailer again I think anyone looking for the whole Pokemon league treatment is gonna be sad in a way. I think that we’ll only be able to challenge the E4 and Champion and there won’t be gyms. I imagine it’ll be somewhere along the lines of you being accepted as being worthy of just jumping straight to the E4 and not needing badges or anything. thus why they wouldn’t require you to go to gyms…..which to me is a little sad……While I find the old system boring I would like it to be a thing in the games now that we know that the main story will be more robust.

  162. I’m surprised they changed Decidueye’s type from Flying to Ghost. I wouldn’t have thought they’d do that. It’s not like flying type would have been a bd fit for its theme. It’s a good change, but certainly an odd one lol

      • The name is also hinting at death a bit, as “Deciduous” is a tree or shrub shedding its leaves annually, which in a way is sorta like death in the sense that you have dying leaves. I believe its’ name is a combination of Deciduous and Deadeye. The latter part being a reference to a sharpshooter, which matches the archer theme, being based around precision aiming.

    • I think I have a good idea of the Pokemon timeline. Red is 11 in R/B/Y/G. R/B/Y/G = R/S/E > 2-3 years > G/S/C/HG/SS = D/P/Pt > 2-5 years > B/W > 2 years > B2/W2 > 1-2 years > S/M

    “Name-chan…Cosmog came from a far away place and is a rare Pokemon.” (she used a type of sentence that ends with ndesu (which I just learned!) that is used for feeling and providing a silent explanation for something. From this one sentence, I can’t fathom what it could be yet, but just letting you guys know) What puzzles me is that Cosmog came from far away. From another dimension? From another world? So many questions just from one statement. I am so puzzled and curious, I honestly can’t wait to find out 😀

Why would they blow the final starter evos, a plot-related legendary prevo, all 3 tapus, the battle facility, and the “building a league” thing in one reveal?     • I’m quite sure it will still be able to learn majority of Flying Type moves. The game would glitch if the moves were incompatible. Also, Charizard Glide replaces Fly, but the move is a TM now!

And now look… it’s ghost. 🙂 just goes to show that we should all leave our “patterns, knowledge, and assumptions” behind because no amount of confidence in assuming will guarantee that outcome.   205. Even though I hate the fact it’s bipedal I really like Infernroar! I like how unexpected the names are. These three are my favourite since Sinnoh, they’re all great. Love the ghost type surprise. Hoping that Red and Blue don’t get too much fsvoutism and Cynthia is still as cool as ever ( I feel like she is the strongest champion).

  211. This has been the least offensive trailer in a long time.

    First thing’s first, bragging time:
    – I correctly guessed the names of the islands
    – I knew the tree wasn’t related to Zygarde or Ho-oh

    The finals’ names are crap, as are their signiture moves, but Rowlet’s final evo being Grass/Ghost was really unexpected, it’s not the best typing but it resists 3 of the 4 guardians.
    I’m upset Tony3 wasn’t Fire/Fighting just to upset people XD
    The mermaid’s eyes are creepy.

    Interesting that they revealed Cosmog and not the other, so I think it’s true that the legendaries might actually be a split evolution.

    The Tapu’s typings were unexpected given the colour theme that was being pushed.

    Red and Blue are a nice touch.

    Persian doesn’t look quite so awful in game.

          • My original guess when only UB-01 was revealed was that they were based on the Pleiades.

            I’ll willing to buy that though

            UB01 is Mercury (a pun on the metal, which is liquid at room temperature)
            UB02A is Mars
            UB02B is Venus
            The one that looks like electric wires is probably Jupiter because the god Jupiter controlled thunder and lightning.
            The bamboo one would be Saturn because Saturn was the god of agriculture.
            The remaining ones I’m less sure of, but.
            The origami one could be Uranus, god of the sky, since it appears to have wings.
            That would make the one with claws Neptune, god of the sea, and the blackish carbon-like one would be Pluton, god of the underworld.

          • Looking at the Pokedex order, I’ve came up with this, after noticing UB-01 and 02 seemed to be the first 3 planets minus Earth. I included Pluto, despite it no longer being a planet, however it is known as the Planet of Transformation. (I added the or after remembering 01 apparantly transforms)

            Side note: Thes UB’s probably have real names, it’s possible they gain their names from the Planets, Marshadow anyone? A Unique typing could mean Triple type, and the UB’s are the perfect Triple Type candidate.

          • I’m doubting they’ll be triple-typed because the programming cost of introducing that mechanic wouldn’t justify only using it for 8 Pokemon, but it it’s plausible.

            Some of your guesses match what I would guess. I’m almost certain UB01 is Mercury though because the website says “B-01’s body is composed of a glass-like substance. However, it’s constantly changing shapes, never settling on one.” which basically amounts to it being liquid-like, and Mercury is liquid at room temperature.

            I definately agree with Saturn – Bamboo, Beauty – Venus and Absorption – Mars, Jupiter – Wire. The others I’m unsure of so I just assumed Pokedex order matched planet order and justified it with lore 😛

            I think there’s definitely some merit in this idea, and it sort of links in with some of the alchemy theories.

    Speaking of types, Decidueye type is kinda neutral, It is now weak to Knock Off and Sucker Punch and, like before, ice shard, but maybe it can learn Will o Wisp (also if I don’t think so) and It can access to Shadow Sneak. However it will lose the stab on flying moves (The gale wing archer was a great hope actually), tailwind is always good however. He is double weak to Incineroar.
    Incinerorar has a good offensive type combo. It’s still weak to stealth rocks which is never good and in 7th gen is weak to the new rock priority move. It will have access to sucker punch, knock off and pursuit which are all good. Defensivly speaking, it is weak to very common types; earthquake, surf, aqua jet, match punch, close combat, earth power are extremly common. It is not double weak to Primarine but both of its stab are resisted by the mermaid.
    Primarine has a solid type combo, excellent for a defensive pokemon. None of the 3 types it is weak to has priority moves (for what we know now). It resists an incredible amount of priority moves; sucker punch, ice shard, match punch, vacuum wave, aqua jet, bullet punch (neutral), water shuriken. Poison has not great coverage speaking of moves and between gen 6 and 7 only 4 poison pokemon were introduced (two being part dragon and two being part fire, both types it is super effective on). It is also a good offensive typing with 6 types it is super effective on (all strong types actually) It will have access to ice beam, moonblast, surf, scald, hyper voice, draining kiss and all the extremly annoyng wall moves. What can counter it are MGengar, Ferrothorn, good electric pokemon, and the sp. defensive walls like Blissey.

    P.s. First generation in which all the starters have at least an immunity.

    Also love its signature moves animation, not sure about the healing burns part. Inferoar also has an amazing signature move animation.

    The issue with Decidueye and Primarina for me is there isn’t enough edge to the, in terms of their lore ( something done very well with the tapus and Inferoar). Couldn’t Primarina lead its foes away with the hypnotic beauty of its balloons that it comes closer and wants to touch them , and they explode ? Or a myth that if a decidueye takes the souls of those who die in the forest to the afterlife. I like Pokemon which act more like wild animals. They’re tiny bit intimidating.

  274. So, here is a thought, and this is just speculation, so dont treat it as fact.
    During the datamine, there was data found for 3 moves, laser focus, throat chop, and Aurora Veil. Id say its safe to assume these are for the starters, as they fit their themes well, but, in this trailer, we see their exclusive moves. So, here’s my thought: what if the secret shared between the starters and rockruff is version exclusive moves? We already know lycanroc midday has accelrock as its exclusive move, and midnight has counter instead. Just a thought, what do you think?

    I like both their designs more than Primarina, but they definitely coulda done something different for them to look like their actual type.
    But so far gameplay-wise I like pretty much everything that i’m seeing. Its nice to see Red n Blue back in it. Hopefully the game will have a lot to do. Thats one of the reasons Gold/Silver and Black/White were my favorites

  296. They have done an outstanding job with the starters in this gen! I love them all, they’re all very unique in their own way so its a hard choice to pick between them because they really do stand out and look amazing, only times I’ve felt that way about all 3 starters was in gen 3 and 6. Even so Litten was my first choice here and I have no regrets with this decision the in game model just makes me love it that much more tbh, when first seeing its hand movements I couldn’t help but think “so you wanna dance pal?” really though I think Incineroar has one of the best designs ever, he’s in a tie for my favorite starter between Delphox and Blaziken. Now with Decidueye his animation is awesome too, I love how it appears like he is dusting himself off, always stay classy Mr. Owl <3 him being part Ghost is very interesting was a little surprised to see them changing the typing but it wasn't a bad surprise imo, I love both his and Incineroar's expressions. Then there's Primarina who is absolutely gorgeous. Many things could be said about them but I don't have a negative comment about any. I know that everyone's going to have a different opinion which is perfectly alright, these aren't going to be for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that, I just hope that those who don't like these designs will be able to find something, anything that they can come to love about the games. Lastly the music is phenomenal actually ended up getting some chills and its great to see all of these characters again! 😀 Red is a person of so many words as always but its what makes him him which is nice that they kept that part of him xD I'm so excited for these games that its hard to contain myself we're so close to getting to play!!
    PS: Who could hate Cosmog that little mon is precious ;~;

  298. Though I get that Decidueye is ghostly in that it’s silent and has a creepy stare, it lacks the wispiness I associate with ghost types. It doesn’t look like it would be immune to normal and fighting types, like gengar or mismagius do.

  301. So looking at the videos, Guardian of Alola seemingly is a variant of fixed damage move that does 75% of the opponent’s health, although we don’t know if it’s basically a better Nature’s Madness or if it deals 75% of the opponent’s max health.

    It also appears that the Tapu will have to know Nature’s Madness to use Guardian of Alola as we can assume both are Fairy moves (Nature’s Madness via being shared between the Tapu, Guardian of Alola due to the dance sequence).

    That’s hella underwhelming imo

    But now I hope that the starters, Zygarde and legends have Z-Moves seeing as we now know that non Gen I Pokémon can get them

  319. Incineroar is growing on me so much. When I first saw it I thought: “Oh boy, another bipedal Fire starter.” But since I’ve seen its in game model in the trailer, I like it. It has so much character and heart, with funny expressions like when you pet it in an unfavorable spot, Incineroar is: “Whoa buddy. That ain’t right.” It’s slowly becoming one of my favorite Fire starters.

  331. Guys. I think I’m going mad. Im struggling to choose between decidueye and tony for sun! I love infernape and blaziken, so I guess tony is making me a bit nostalgic. Also it’s spinning attack reminds me of flame wheel, my favourite move when I was a kid because of chimchar… Though I like decidueye more as a flying type, and I love its design, it’s just not edgy enough ! I wish it was more ghosts. ITSME, CURE ME!! TELL ME DECIDUEYE MAKES SENSE AS A GHOST TYPE

          • Umm…from what I know she was handled pretty badly. She was on Misty level of having nothing to do but cheer Ash in Gyms and league matches.

            May and Dawn were much better companions. Serena was probably better than Iris, but thats probably it.

    • So let me understand, Rowlett one is simply whatever weak move boosted by a crit, Popplio one is really unuseful cause if the opposite pokemon use roar, dragon tail or does not switch it gains nothing. If the enemy switches one it heals of what? 30 hp at max? Better use recover then a Z -move, don’t you think?

      • A guaranteed critical hit brings it up to 105 Base Power which makes it a slightly better Grass Type Earthquake that ignores stat boosts for your opponents and ignores stat drops for you, as well as not attacking your partner, and if Decidueye gets Sniper that goes up to 140 BP

        Guess it could use a power buff though

        I said that it’d be until Primarina faints if it’s not strong enough

        And in singles, switching happens a whole lot, and not to get technical but Roar and Whirlwind tend to be quite rare and Dragon Tail and Circle Throw don’t affect it and barely affect it, respectively.

I love all this but my one and only small complaint is that even though I love the surprise grass/ghost typing for deducideye, I wish there was a little more justification for such a bold change of course. At the very least I wish, he looked a little more… I don’t know.. Ghostly? He could easily still pas for a grass/flying type if we didn’t know any better but eh whatever! I still like it even though it has five or six weeknesses

            Also, blindly worship? No fam, try ‘likes the type and just doesn’t see th problems you don because most of them are subjective and unclear for everyone’. Besides, don’t see how that’s much different from what you do with Ground types tbh

  355. I’ve never wanted or really needed multiple versions in a generation, but I so want both Sun and Moon this time around, just to experience the differences between them with different teams. It’s so refreshing that so far, the differences between versions extend beyond a handful of version exclusives and the box legendary. Day vs. Night cycle differences, version-exclusive evolutions (albeit just one), the usual version-exclusives, plus who knows what else! Game Freak has actually put some thought and effort into distinguishing the versions from one another this time and I love it.

  357. Imagine Red camping out on Mount Silver for 3 years then being challenged by Ethan/Lyra. After an intense battle, he looses and jumps off the mountain cliff landing on charizard and flying back. He heads back to Pallet Town after a few days and reunites with his mother. After a few years of not battling and living quietly in his home town, he hears about a world wide pokemon championship in Unova, the PWT and decides to get back into battling. There he reunites with Blue and they begin to become good friends. They have both matured and become partners.

  373. So GF has revealed 60 new pokemon on 73 and 14 Alola Forms on 18. They revealed all legends and Mythical except from Marshadow, all starters lines, all the Alola Form except from Golem line. Now, let’s assume they will reveal at least 3 new pokemon until release,this means that they decided to go out of mind after the demo datamining or that they are pointing everything on the story and on the competitive instead of new pokemon. Because you know I’m the first to think that the pokedex is complete and thinking back to OrAs when we had all new megas before release supports this convintion, but leaving all pokemon in the demo and deleting everything else, reveal almost all new pokemon and in particular all the starters, Silvally and all the legends spoilering that they have pre-evolutions, something that we have never had before, sounds incredible weird.

  380. Remember when rumours were circling that Decidueye would be Grass/Ground? How wrong that turned out to be! (though I liked the idea and was never opposed to a it losing its Flying type).

    I love/hate that it’s Ghost. I don’t like to double up on types in my team, and I really wanted to use Palossand 🙁 …maybe I’ll just start with Litten instead :/

    • Pokemon with guts. Tbh they probably knew people were going to use scald instead as it looked like it will fit that role, so they wanted to RE something a little more unique incase people were trying to be creative. It would be cool if it was like scald though and burned multiple opponents, or what would make more sense is that it reduces accuracy, given the name.

      • I don’t think so, pokemon with guts hold a flame orb. So at the end of each turn they will be burned again and if Primarine is not faster it’s unuseful. While if it doubles the damage on burned pokemon then each turn will be boosted because of the burning coming again and again.

  387. What starter are you all planning on using now that the final evolutions are completely revealed? I’m still sold on using Litten or Rowlet first when I see the complete dex (not only from the leaks). I’m going to keep my first playthrough as Alolan Pokemon and Alolan Form only.

    • I’m sticking with just Alolan mons and no forms for my runthrough. Sure, the Alolan forms are new so to say, but it’s mons I sort of used before. I want to use mons I have never used before in any way.
      As for my starters, I’m still sticking with Litten and Rowlet. Then I’ll restart my Sun copy and play with Popplio once that Rowlet adventure is done with. And for Popplio’s runthrough, I might have the language be set to Japanese, since I’ll know how the games go story-wise and it will help me become better with the language possibly.

    • I’m definitely using Popplio but can’t decide in sun or moon! I like Popplio the most, like I like lunala and the moon and night better than Solgaleo and playing in the day (boring). But I think it makes so much sense that Rowlett should be played in MOON! But Popplio 3s ballooons are said to be beautiful in moonlight…. and do I want to use Inferoar or Decidueye?

    • My litten would begin its saga as a blank faced Litten whom i was kinda….forced to pick because my douche of siblings took the other two
      It shows very concern for battling or me, but after a bunch of Yungoose ambushed it while walking into its loitering paths i quickly discovered its great agility and very above average ember attack
      After some time fighting some Pokes it warms up to battling but that changed when we came across a high spirited Rockruff that bested it every time, even going as far to keep fighting even though exhausted
      It started getting more…how you say competitive when rockruff joined the team and tried to win no matter what and always be numero uno even going as far to intimidate rockruff from fighting (which was totally ineffective) But biting more then it can chew it boldly tries to fight off a outraged group of Alolan grimer which in the fury to win it evolves into Torracat
      Torracat still had a toxic attitude for fighting but i encouraged it as it forced itself to fight harder but that was put to the test when we challenged Olivia and her Rock Types
      though i put it on the benches Torracat wanted to fight more then anything but it got his wish when Olivia’s Lycanroc took out my last pokemon and he was all i had left
      Blow after blow Torracat tried to win but Lycanroc was too fact and impervious to fire attacks and was nearly ended by a super powerful Stone Edge…Torracat was not going to let another Lycanroc best it, it’s bell grew white hot and flames erupted from its neck engulfing it in an all consuming inferno BLAZE ACTIVATES it lets out a primal roar and evolution strikes transforming Torracat into Incineroar! Blind fury overtook his mind and stuck back with terrifying power setting the whole battlefield ablaze and with grim vigor it grabbed Lycanroc by the tail and preformed its newly learnt Darkest Lariat attack but also setting it on fire with Fire Spin causing a typhoon of flame causing major damage, Lycanroc was defeated but Incineroar was not satisfied, it blew flames everywhere burning everything to ash it began to growl eyeing down Olivia and got into a pouncing stance i scrambled to grab my Pokeball to recall it, i was nearly a hair late and Incineroar was sealed back into his pokeball before striking Her. this terrifying victory left a bitter taste in my mouth knowing that kind of demon resides in my Incineroar

    • That’s what I was thinking. It’s basically like asking why isn’t Solgaleo Fire/Steel or Fire/Psychic. It’s funny how Solgaleo is weak to the Fire and Lunala is weak to Dark.

      • I mean, the Sun isn’t really fire. It gives off light by nuclear fusion. And with the alchemy themes, Solgaleo’s makes sense to me.
        For Lunala, I still agree what it should have been part dark, imo.

    • It would be a lot better competitively. In my opinion, the reason it isn’t dark is because of yveltal. It would come straight after, and they both bare resemblance to eachother as it, being aviary creatures of darkness. So they went with ghost to change things up. Also lunala isn’t evil in anyway, it’s just related to dark and shadow. I suppose the moon itself is ghostly in that it only shines because of the sun…

      As for why not fairy, I think there’s a few reasons. One, the tapus share already fairy. Going off that point, they may have wanted solgaleo and lunala to have a link in type too. Fire fairy dark fairy would be too many fairies with the tapus, especially in a gen wifh so many other fairies.     • Both legendaries have a focus on light; Cosmog, which is presumably related to the legendaries, grows through the absorption of light. If it is a preevolution or alternate form of Solgaleo and Lunala, its appearance may be altered by the intake of either Solar or Lunar energy. Lunar light/energy consumption results in Lunala, while Solar light/energy consumption results in Solgaleo. Since both legendaries theoretically require light to achieve their forms, a dark typing would not be particularly sensical.

      In short: just because it’s dark at night, doesn’t mean the moon’s not bright.

    • Too be fair though, if you look at it at a glance, it does look like a dolphin. Much like Crabbrawler looks like a snowman at a glance. Remember sometimes leakers only get to see a quick glance from across the room and report on them. That’s how the rumor of Chrom being in smash came about. He was confused for his daughter since they look similar enough at a distance.

        • I’ve heard the primate argument 100 times. Technically humans and gorillas are primates – that’s too far up the tree to have any meaning.

          Monkeys are simians, Lemurs are prosimians, they branched apart many many years ago.

          Point is, if they got that wrong, they could easily mistake a marlin/swordfish for a dolphin.

          • That’s a bull argument. Humans and gorillas are both primates yes but genre are stark differences that enable you to tell the two species apart every time. I’d like to quiz you on randomly selected pictures of different species of lemurs and monkeys and see if you can tell them apart with 100% certainty.

        • Lemurs are far more archaic than what is considered a true monkey. They’re closer to animals like tarsiers, galagos and loris.

    • Either way, this reveal makes me believe that the leaks were intentional. If not they just blew the all the tapus, the battle facility, the cameos of red and blue, a story relevant legendary prevo, and the starter reveals in one announcment.

      • Each of the island might have a different way of housing their guardian. I’m not sure we’ve seen a solid spot on the maps that show where any of them could be for certain. Either way MeleMele might just be more laid back and not have a lavish entrance lol

          • Yeah. I could see Tapu Koko being the slacker of the bunch. Tapu Bulu is also said to be a little on the less active side, but apparently has a sense of honor compared to TK whom seems like a schmuck lol

          • So Tapu Koko is a selective schmuck (cause he helps your player after all) , Bulu is lazy but docile, and will screw you up if you are evil. Fini is disgusted with everything, so that’s s thing. And Lele is a healer but also a total piece of shit because of the scale shit it does. … Noice guardians you got Alola

      • Ten Carat hill and Mahalo trail are likely demo exclusive areas that they created to give us space to run around int. There aren’t any other spots on the map that they could go. As for the empty lot, I’ve noticed that there are a few other empty lots around the region. at least they look like empty lots. I’d be surprised if at least some of them didn’t get filled by the end of the game.

          • I doubt there will be gyms. I don’t think there enough lots to cover the typical 8 gyms. Plus Ohmori already stated in an interview that there are no gyms in the games. Plus it seems like the only part of the traditional league we’ll see is the E4 and Champion. Maybe if we get a SuMo 2 or whatever a proper league will be in place with gyms and whatnot.

        • But in a couple of the earlier trailers, we saw the player running in a trail similar to Mahalo trail (at least it had the same statues and uphill path)

So two questions come to mind after this last trailer. 1st: Do we think that that research looking building on the snowy mountain is actually the Pokemon League that’s being built or is the league on of those things they don’t show on the map as it’s not there until post game? 2nd question is regarding Cosmog and potential leaks to I’ll spoiler for those whom may or may not want to know stuff. Anyway the question is whether Cosmog evolves into the legendary that is on your game box or if it evolves into the opposite legendary to allow you to be able to get both in one game. Clearly it’s an evolution line, but I’m hoping it’s the second choice so we can get both legendaires in a single game. Similar to how we could get both Lugia and Ho-oh in gold and Silver. Anyway I’m leaning towards the second option as otherwise I have no idea how you’d have time to pet and spend time with Cosmog in the Refresh app. Anyway those are my thoughts/newly thought of questions after today lol

    • 1. Considering the trailer where Kukui says it’s a mountain that is the highest peak of Alola, I’m betting the snowy one on Ula’Ula.
      2. After thinking about it, I think that Cosmog can evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala depending on your version as well as the other one shown in the datamine (might be a middle evo of sorts?) I definitely think it’s more Ultra Beast ish because in the Japanese trailer, Lillie says that Cosmog has come from a far away place and is a rare Pokemon. a far away place…like a different dimension? Only time will tell I guess

      • Huh I didn’t think/ notice that. Makes sense to me. I was kind of clumping the whole mountain together and including the building as being part of the mountain. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how the landscape changes before, during, and after the league is put into place lol

        I think it turning into the legendary on your games box is kind of boring tho. It would also mean that you could never have one for the long run unless you started a game and then transferred it over to a finished game (if that’s even possible). Unless the legendaries are able to breed for them (which I don’t really think is going to be a thing) I say Cosmog is an extra Pokemon that lets you get the other legendary. If you so choose to do so anyway lol

    • The secret is that there is no secret. It was a mistranslation. It might have mentioned that Rockruff had a secret (it’s evolution having split forms), but the starters have no such secret.

        • Kinda, I mean the best we could’ve gotten is split evolutions. With all of the new mechanics introduced this generation, the last thing we needed is some kind of fusion/Z-form to throw things off balance. I think we’re perfectly fine the way we are, though a split wouldn’t have hurt either.

          • I would have been perfectly fine with split evos… even if they changed the types of the final evolutions. I was NOT expecting decidueye (where did they pull this name out of) to be grass/ghost when the first two were grass/flying. Maybe if it was split they could have had grass/ghost and grass/flying. Incineroar (clever name) won me over just based on its name alone they could have done fire/dark /fighting as split evos. Primarina was my fave when they were leaked along with decidueye. Im glad for the water/fairy and if it was split i could see it as water/psychic.

  431. With that shocking ghost typing for Decidueye, I really wonder what the typings will be for some of the unrevealed ones from the datamine? I’m hoping the weird bubble spider thing is electric/water, kinda gives me vibes of both types. Also think the anchor is water/ghost. May do an all ghost team in Moon, so many amazing new ghosts this gen and Alolan Marowak.

  432. seeing as Primarina is water/fariy and has a huge advantage on Incineroar fire/dark also he a huge advantage on Decidueye grass/ghost, do you think they make shake up the typings again and make ghost super effective on fairy? this would make Decidueye has a double advantage on Primarina as aswell, I also think Fairy is currently over powered and a ghost weakness could nerf it.

    Then the starter typings would reflect how gen 6 starter all has massive typing advantages over each other.

  433. Cosmog description says “when light falls on this Pokémon, Cosmog absorbs it and grows”. It will probably evolve into the golden ring Pokemon in the leak because that Pokemon seems to have a black hole in the middle of it and it seems to come after Cosmog in Pokedex.

        • A Nebula is clearly what Cosmog is based on.
          “Nebulae are often star-forming regions, such as in the “Pillars of Creation” in the Eagle Nebula. In these regions the formations of gas, dust, and other materials “clump” together to form denser regions, which attract further matter, and eventually will become dense enough to form stars.”
          Cosmog = Nebula
          The one after = the “Clump”
          Solgaleo/Lunala=Star/Moon (Which is made the same way a Planet is)

  440. In the japanese trailer when it showed off Cosmog, it seems that it may be the pokemon that was in Lillie’s bag and that she gives it to you. Also it didnt seem to be version exclusive to Moon suggesting that it’s not Baby Lunala. What if the 2 “baby forms” we saw was actually 2 stages of one line? Cosmog could evolve into the one that looks like an eye and then that could evolve into Solgaleo or Lunala depending on which game you have?
    Evolution isnt a usual thing for legendaries but what I mean by “evolve into”, I mean like how in X, Xerneas was a tree before Team Flare turned it into Xerneas. This could be a similar case except we have the thing that turns into the legendary? I realize that there are some flaws to this theory like “Would we have to have Cosmog on our team and carry it to the altar so it could turn into the legendary” but I know this pokemon is special. Damn this has got to be the longest thing I’ve written on this site but after seeing that japanese trailer show off Cosmog, making it look so important to the story, I just had to.
    Ooh what if at the altar Lillie brings the evolved Cosmog or the other “baby” and the 2 combine and form the legendary. Okay I’m rambling now ._.

  446. I’m still going to have all three starters on my main play through on Moon version. I am getting both game’s, and I will use the Sun version, to get the other two starters.
    And I am nicknaming them after Robin Hood characters.
    Decidueye shall be (of course) Robin Hood
    Incineroar shall be Little John, and
    Primarina shall be Maid Marian (and I will reset until I get a female Popplio.)
    Haven’t decided yet what I am naming my Rockruff (maybe Nottingham if its a male), or my Mimikyu (maybe Prince John or Trigger), but my
    Jangmo-o shall be named King Richard. LOL
    And yes I am serious about all of them having Robin Hood themed nicknames. 😀 (At least on my main play through, on other play through’s they’ll have different nicknames. 🙂 )
