- Incineroar is Litten’s final evolution, Fire/Dark. New signature move Darkest Lariat ignores foe’s stat changes
- Primarina is Popplio’s final evolution, Water/Fairy. New signature move Sparkling Aria heals the burns of those it hits
- Akala Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Lele (Psychic/Fairy)
- Ula’Ula Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Bulu (Grass/Fairy)
- Poni Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Fini (Water/Fairy)
- Tapu Pokémon share a unique Z-Move called Guardian of Alola
- Cosmog is a Psychic-type Pokémon with ability Unaware
- Alolan Persian is pure Dark-type
- Alola is still in the process of building a Pokémon League
