      • 1st – Pokemon
        2nd – Shikan (or Pokedex)
        3rd – Bag
        4th – Report (or save)
5th – I think that one is Wireless Connection, due to the icon, but not sure
        6th – Festival Plaza

      • I can read most of it:

        Pokemon Pokedex
        Bag Report (Save)
        Quick Communicate
the last one confuses me, but Festival Plaza makes the most sense (the Katakana reads FeSuSa-KuRu… though I could be remembering my Katakana wrong, because it’s been a while…)
EDIT: Tried typing it, フェスサークル is definitely FeSuSa-KuRu… whatever that’s supposed to sound like, I have no idea.

        • Nah the katakana you’re reading is right, it just might mean something else in Japanese
From what I can possibly guess, it means something like ‘Festival Circle’ (Direct translation)

          • Yeah, but maybe they thought it would look/sound weird with maru, but I dunno for sure.
Plus, most of the time, the kanji has the hiragana underneath (it is for kids after all so it makes sense) so it would be hard to do it here, I feel, and make it readable

          • Ah like they never used the kanji for route. Ok then.

On the other hand, they are making kids jump through hoopas and learning loanwords. :p

          • Well, there would be some kanji that have learned before (like common kanji) but there would be a good amount of them that they would do it for. And it’s just my guess really xD
True, but they have a lot of loan words (heck, it’s why katakana is still around after all, to write them down) so it’s not as bad as having an unknown kanji maybe that has no hiragana underneath and kids not knowing what it says.

          • MOM WHAT DOES 丸 MEAN?

Yeah this game should be PG. I mean if the kids have to ask mom what war or a superweapon is in XY, might as well add some PG-level kanji…

          • There’s a lot of kanji that the Japanese use everyday (like over 2000 if memory serves), expecting a school kid to know all of them and recall their different pronounciations is kind of absurd.

          • Omg. I can’t believe I didn’t pick up on circle quicker hahaha >.<

            Tbh,
I found the 2nd half of the menu shown to be more interesting: Trainer
Card, Poke Resort, Poke Refresh, QR Scan (why does this need to be so
prominently in the menu?), Battle Video (moved away from key items?),
            and Settings…

        • Honestly, I think FesCircle is just a pun and Japan suuure loves its word puns. The English word festival would be フェスティバル (pronounced fe•su•ti•ba•ru) in katakana while FesCircle is would be フェスサークル (pronounced fe•su•sa•ku•ru). The two sound and look somewhat alike.

        • IF there are new megas, I think that’d be a good route. Maybe get the new ones around Alola and buy the old ones with BP

          Reply
      • If thats the case, then I’ll probs only work hard for Charizardite X and maybe MewTwoite X and Y.
But I do hope the rumored Battle Frontier allows for more fun obtaining BP as it seems the new Wifi Plaza only gives us Festival Coins.

          • I HOPE good moves are not locked to BP’s either, its erked me when Iron Tail was only through the Battle Maison -O- why kill its TM GF, why?

  1. After reading its description I have a new found appreciation for Dartrix. I still like the other two more, but I love Rowlet basically evolves into an anxiety teenager hahaha

  2. I’d this trailer only further supports the leaks, the leaker mentioned Ash-Greninja would be in the game, now that’s true. Brionne totally looks like it evolves to a Mermaid, and Drartrix’s Pokedex entry states it stores sharp feathers in its wing (just like the archer in the leaks) and how it strikes with precision, also it makes since to go from darts to arrows. I didn’t like Brionne at first, and Dartrix just looked strange to me, but now I love Dartrix and Brionne is starting to grow on me.

    • lol. That feeling when we jump to conclusions without knowing everything. I’m quite sure you could get every stone in Alola without that. I’m assuming it’s for if you want more stones!

      Reply
    • Even though it’s not the most elegant way to do so, at least it makes them feel properly “earned” this time round. They keep talking about how mega evolution is a rare thing that requires a close bond between pokémon and trainer, yet you can use it as soon as you catch a pokémon… I know it would be annoying to have to max out a pokémon’s friendship or affection to mega evolve, but at least that would make it feel like a valuable thing, and make you actually choose which megas you want as you’d have to invest in them.
So at least in SM it seems you’ll have to earn most mega stones through a lot of battling, and I think that’s something. It’d be a bit convenient for the stones to be hanging round alola too. A lot of people are probably just gonna gen the stones in, but hey, at least some of us will work hard for them. And hell, I’d rather grind through battle spot than have to collect an obscene number of flags for Aarune to give me a garchompite…

  3. Months ago I told that the anime was creating things apart from the games for the first time in Pokémon history. In that time, I thought Ash-Greninja and Zygarde formes was those creations. Now is clear that Zygarde was meant to be in the Z version (the myth, the legend), but Ash-Greninja confirms my theory. The first Pokémon created in the anime is coming to the games.

  4. I love that Brionne is the Pop Star Pokemon. I’m certainly thinking more about using Popplio than I was when it was first announced lol

    • I was weirdly on the fence about this, because I was absolutely against an expanded concept of synchro, but since ash-greninja had started appearing in spinoffs, I definitely wanted it in the game. In this case battle bond seems to be a weird one off, and honestly I’d have preferred if they just made it mega-greninja and left the weird bond thing to the anime, but I’m kind of apathetic to it as it is. It’s just very confusing how they refer to ash, and how it bonded with him, and looks like him, but how it’s bonding with the trainer… This seems to be a very inorganic way of including it, but hey, it’s better than pokéfusions or whatever. I do have a creeping feeling it might only be setting us up for a future expansion of the battle bond concept, but I hope I’m wrong.

    • Not only does it have that crap name.. it loses Protean.
I’m sure this new form will give it a 100% 5-hit on Water Shuriken and a small boost (speed and attacks).

I really dislike that Ash is now part of the game somehow.. what a drag.

    • What I hate is that the demo will probably be the only way to get it and I won’t be able to transform my XY Greninja into Ash-Greninja.

  5. I think all the last stage starters will get a new signature move.
    Rowlet3: Arrow Quill
    Litten3: Blazing Press
    Popplio3: Luring Song

    • Apparently, according to the text on the anime art, Litten3 gets a new signature move called Beast Swing/Tiger Swing. Would make sense for the other two to get one as well

    • Tora is tiger in Japanese. Also torridity means extreme heat.

Brionne is brine+sea lion. Also maybe the ‘on’ bit comes from ondine, which is french for mermaid.

Dartrix…uh…darts, like how it throws its quills at opponents? Not clear on that one tbh.

  6. Does anyone like me find it odd that we see a lot of Spearow but we have yet to see a Fearow? Could that be a tease for something, or was Fearow shown and I missed it?

  7. Just checked and the Ash Greninja form being achieved by way of ability is another Point towards the one 4Chan leak that talked about Oricorio and Bewear! lol

    Reply
    • I think there will be. There’d be no point to make an all new ability for just on Pokemon that isn’t even a legendary. I imagine it’ll only be a select few, but there will definitely be more.

      • In balance sake I hope chesnaught and delphox do too, but we’ve seen they don’t care about fairness giving Charizard 2 Megas

        Reply
      • There are a number of non-legendary pokemon with transformation abilities that are exclusive to them o.o Like Cherrim

        Reply
      • I completely agree. Most starters are definitely good candidates for that. Personally, I am hoping for a Battle Bond Dragonite. About time it got some attention, especially seeing how many people are slowly giving up on it getting a Mega or Alola Form.

  8. wait if u pick up ash’s greninja pokeball, does that mean the anime ends with ash chucking greninja’s ball far into the ocean?

  9. Man. Poke Pelago, Festival thing, Pokesnap, possibly Battle Frontier and maybe a post-game episode like in ORAS? I have a feeling they’re going all out with Sun and Moon. So hyped!
