Team Rocket & Galactic Themes Hit 3DS

Two new Nintendo 3DS themes have been released in Japan for Team Rocket and Team Galactic. Players can pledge their allegiance to either by purchasing them for ¥200 ($1.99 / £1.79 / €1,99 upon international release within the next few months).

You can watch trailers for the Team Rocket Theme or Team Galactic Theme by following the links 🙂

What do you think? Ready to enlist? The Team Rocket music might just make it worth the purchase for me…

  1. before everyone jumps up and says “diamond and pearl remakes!!!!” note that this is part of japan’s villains merch release, they likely put galactic to acknowledge the anniversary today, or because they plan to post these in pairs (next time: aqua/magma, then flare/plasma, they couldn’t do just team rocket/aqua and then magma/galactic, splitting up the real pair)

        • Awesome. It’s a sign! I took it as a sign to upgrade when I found out the XL was only available in two colors, one being red. I’ve had almost every handheld in red and it’s not super common, so I jumped on it.

  2. Well, it would make sence if you think about it.

It’s Gen 1’s 20th Anniversary (very soon Gen 2’s as well) – Original games launched on the Nintendo eshop

It’s Gen 4’s 10th Anniversary – Creating remake, just like the past Gens that had their 10th Anniversary.

Pokemon has announced their making new games for the NX, so I woudn’t be surprised to see the remake of Gen 4 be on the newer console. And if so, would be the first in a Pokemon Generation to split consoles, and would see it come full circle, just as it has of being the first Pokemon games on the DS. It would also bring more money to the newest console as well. The clues for a Gen 4 remake are there, and my guess, just like Gen 3’s remake, that it’ll be out next year.

Need I remind you all that Gen 5 was on the DS and now Gen 7 on the 3DS. If it was supposed to be Generations, then Gen 5 should be on the 3DS, Gen 6 on the NX, and Gen 7 on some future console. So whatever the company is doing with gens and consoles, they’ve already messed up!

    • well since sun and moon is going to be on 3ds (maybe nx when nx is released), maybe either we might diamond and pearl remake on 3ds or nx or if nintendo nx have a backward compatibility to plays 3ds games on nx

      • Perhaps the NX will. Although it might have to not be backwards comparable with the DS games, we do not want to get the exact same game twice, seeing that the original Diamond and Pearl came out for the DS and is playable on the 3DS. I think Game Freak understood this, that is why it would make sense of producing it on the NX. Twilight Princess is guilty for having a HD version made for the Wii U, when the original Wii version of the game can be plaid on the system. And yes I am aware that it was suppose to be a Gamecube game, but I didn’t know until I’ve read the walkthrough book. Thought it was a Wii game, and yet still stands to reason of why it’s better having a remake made for a much newersystem with no backwards comparability.

        Only time would tell.

          • It would, as long as it’s not backwards comparable with DS games and thus leaving Gen 4 and 5 in the dust.

As a business practice, I’m guessing that in order for the NX to be successful, it’ll have to have it’s own Pokemon game, probably and possibly the remake of Diamond and Pearl in which’ll be exclusive to NX. Having backwards comparability will be heaven for Sun and Moon player to play and trade. Either it will have 3DS backwards comparability or not, I’m unsure. Only time will tell.

          • sure we already got backward compatibility that plays ds games, a 3ds. I wonder how will you trade pokemons between a 3ds and nx, i don’t know how it works, i got new 3ds xl and i’m probably planning on getting the NX (depending on the price), so how does that work? Please have a Backward compatibility to 3ds game!

          • The Pokemon Sun and Moon games, and/or NX would probably have a system installed in which will allowed trade between Pokemon titles on the NX and the 3DS. There is also Pokemon Bank in which will transfer Pokemon from one game to another. Seeing that the NX is almost revealed, Sun and Moon almost released and Pokemon already at work on the NX, I could see no reason of why they shoudn’t make the two games tradeworthy and/or backwards compatable.

          • that’s true, also most of the pokemon you have to link trade, which require to trade pokemons to link trade them. Plus it’ll totally be messed up if they don’t include the backward compatibility on there

          • I envision it being a backwards compatable console to the 3DS only. Have Diamond and Pearl remake a NX exclusive so would have a reason to buy, and be able to trade to and fro between Sun and Moon on the 3DS and PureDiamond and DazzlingPearl on the NX.

PureDiamond and DazzlingPearl are just guess names for it. It could may as well be called DawnDiamond and DuskPearl for all I know.

          • that good, like you said there no reason they’ll include backward compatibility, but really is that the names you’ll coming up with, how about this “Temporal Diamond” and “Celestial Pearl” or “Spatial Pearl”

    • I can’t believe this is actually the new anime. For real.

I feel like they must be trolling us and eventually they’ll be like ‘nah we were just kidding lolz here’s some real screenshots’.

        • It’s not even the change in genre which bugs me so much, it’s the crazy new animation style and noodle-arm character designs – Ash in particular. It looks like someone fused Naruto and Luffy together and then threw in some Adventure Time. Yeugh.

          • The animation style looks fine to me. Its different from what I’m used to, but it doesn’t look bad or anything.

  3. Was a time given for the supposed news reveal today? If it’s a video I’d suspect 09:00EST, but I’m not sure what kind of news we’re getting.

  4. The changes to the website are more noticeable this time around, I like them.

(Now if only we could do something about that background, my eyes burn every time I look at it. When I say burn, I don’t mean figuratively, I mean it actully makes my eyes water.)
