Pokkén Tournament Pits Players Against Shadow Mewtwo
What’s better than Shadow Link? Shadow Mewtwo. The Pokémon fighter Pokkén Tournament will be released worldwide in early 2016 for the Nintendo Wii U, which was originally released as an arcade game, and will benefit from some of the post-launch updates made in Japan. Players will be able to face off against a brand new foe, aforementioned Shadow Mewtwo, which can even Mega Evolve. Pikachu Libre is also show off as the newest of the playable battlers in the trailer below.
Some websites misreported this as a “new mega form“, but it seems to be just a cosmetic change with the possibility of Pokkén-exclusive attacks or abilities. I wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t introduced into the main series, just as how the original Shadow Pokémon were a Colosseum/XD exclusive (nostalgia). That being said, do YOU want to see Shadow Mewtwo in Pokémon Z?
