As usual, Japanese magazine CoroCoro has begun to leak ahead of its May 15th release. Peek below at the scans and translated information. Most of this issue’s reveals were already known through ROM data hacks.

  • Mega Latios & Mega Latias will be starring in Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages
  • Hoopa Unbound’s signature move is Hyperspace Fury
  • Hoopa can become Hoopa Unbound in-game by use of the Prison Bottle (in Japanese ‘Jar of Binding’, much cooler sounding IMO)

  1. First! Anyway, it’s a bit sad that this is the only information that Corocoro has. I remember the good times last year when all Pokemon websites were full of chatter about the new games and we would count down the days until the next Corocoro. Hopefully those good times return after this year’s E3.

  3. I can’t say I’m surprised. There hasn’t been a real reason think that a new main series game will be released. I would love it if a new one was released as I seem to have become a junky of sorts lol. To b honest tho I think they need to take a year or so off of releasing these games. It use to b very spaced out, but now it seems like they’re popping thee games out like the assassins creed games have been. As to what the famitsu announcement will b I can only see that as a spin off game of some sorts. That could b good as I’m not super thrilled with the current side games they have out now……. well either way I’ll b excited if it’s a main game or new side game…… as long as it isn’t mysterious dungeon lol I may have jut said something bad hahaha

  4. Not surprised at all. That whole Famitsu thing saying a new game was going to be announced this month was just a mistranslation according to Serebii and people were jumping the gun, getting the entire community excited. I bet lots of people, including Heavy, are pissed.

      • Serebii. According to him, the translation was not implying that there would be a new game. When
        that scan came out and he was presented with a video of a person posting
        a YouTube video saying it would be a new game, he said this:

        “Yes. They are jumping the gun which is why I didn’t post it last week.

        Famitsu
        DS+Wii seldom has reveals and that promises content on Pokémon, Yo-Kai
        Watch and Monster Hunter 4G, the last of which is already out.

        While
        we are expecting a spin-off this summer, they’re jumping the gun by
        assuming there will be a new game. They didn’t mention it being a new
        game.”

          • I don’t have one. But someone sent me that and said that Serebii said it. I know that Serebii frequents NeoGAF Forums as a place to post. But the post is probably buried by now. This was last month when the statement was supposedly made. Sorry I can’t be of more help. But it’s widely known that Serebii strongly believes there will be no main series game this year. To be honest, I agree with him. And if there was going to be a major announcement, CoroCoro would of revealed it before Famitsu more than likely.

    • Do u know what the correct translation was then? I figured there wouldn’t b a huge announcement without some major notices b4 hand.

      • i have no idea about Famitsu ,but if there’s big announcement they didn’t have to leak it on corocoro . i think they can announce it as Independent event …..maybe next week .

  6. I have to say Hoopa is definitely one of my favourite legendary Pokemon. I tend never to use them except just to see the design in battle against random wild pokemon or in Legend only battles with mates.

    Hoops and Hoops unbound really impressed me in ORAS. Especially the unbound form.

    I can’t wait for Volcanion to be released because I know people will love him. His steam eruption move is sexual but I love his design. In battle his motion flows Sooo well when he attacks 😀

    • Not to mention his awesome type combination of Fire/Water that I have wanted for years along with I bet many others. His weakness to Electric type is pretty easily nullified now thanks to a Move Tutor being able to teach Volcanion Earth Power in ORAS. Combine that with it’s high Special Attack and Electric types will flee before it.
