PJN in JPN: Last Trip to Tokyo’s Old Pokémon Center

On December 12th, Tokyo’s new ‘Mega Pokémon Center’ will open in Ikebukuro. Unfortunately, the previous location will close its doors forever on December 7th. To say goodbye to the center I’ve been frequenting for the last 4 years while living in Tokyo I stopped by this weekend with a friend. Luckily since I bought stuff I was able to participate in the decoration of a Mega Charizard which will be put up in the new location when it opens. It is colored entirely by small stickers placed by fans, and Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard were already finished.

Made a quick video as well of what I picked up so enjoy 🙂

  1. This guy at UNF told me that a secret happens if you transfer a gen 3 Hoenn Pokemon into the remakes. I’m not sure if it’s true, but he won’t tell because it’s a spoiler. 🙁 I want to know if it’s true or not.

  2. I agree, I never understood why Gligar/’scor were part ground. Is it surely just because they’re based on scorpions? Cause they seem more Poison vampires than Ground…bat things

    • You agree to what? And It’s Pokemon. Find one piece of logic and tell me. I’ve yet to find anything that makes sense….

    • I never understood why Flygon was ground type, why alataria is dragon typed, why skitty and wailord can breed, why scizor can’t learn fly while dodou can,why gayarados can participate in sky battles but pidgey can’t.

      Reply
      • Flygon is a Desert dwelling Pokemon that evolved from a near subterranean sand dwelling Pokemon
Altaria is based off a Peng whitch are giant mythological birds with dragon heads and whiskers
Skitty and Wailord are both mammals and share the same egg group
Scizor though possess wings but truly mantises are poor fliers and though Doduo lacks wings, it flies by leaping miles into the air
Gyarados’ is still technically a flying type with a airborn animation while Pidgey’s is not

        Reply
        • I would think that Gyarados is part flying because it’s based off a Japanese something with water and flies.

          Reply
          • yeah its based on the legend that a fish leaped over a waterfall and morphed into a dragon and FLEW into the Sky but at the time Dragon Types where exclusively the Dratini line so that explains its flying type
But Mega Gyrados and Dark kinda makes sense since of its unceasing destructive habits, because more so Pokemon often makes Dragons more wise and intelligently powerful beings

        • Flygon itself has nothing to with ground except living in a desert
          Didn’t know that about Altaria
Skitty and Wailord share the same egg group,NidoKing and Nidoking don’t
If a flightless bird can learn fly, scizor should be able to learn it to
Gyarados being a flying type makes a lot of sense, doesn’t it?

          Reply
          • Dude Trapinch is a Ground Type that learns tons of Ground and Rock Moves how can you honestly say Flygon has nothing to do with being a Ground Type
Yes Nidoqueen cannot Breed maybe because its female only and cannot give birth on its own (Nidoking can stick in wherever he pleases)
Scizor can barely fly they only fly short distances but they don’t fly extended periods of time
Gyarados Flying typing is a dicey subject but at the time the only Dragons were Dratini’s line so they did the next best thing

          • AHEM

Flygon’s line is based on an antlion, which is a subterranean insect that constructs traps under the sand to capture ants. As the antlion develops, it metamorphosizes into a winged insect, somewhat similar to a dragonfly. THank you for your attention.

  3. and Armaggedon i’ve just read that Scizor truly can’t fly since their Dex Entry states “Its wings are not used for flying. They are flapped at high speed to adjust its body temperature.”

  4. If Team aqua really wanted to expand the oceans, they should’ve just attempted to melt the polar ice caps (logically assuming the pokemon world has those.) That woulda screwed everything up.
