    • Sadly true: When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Also sadly true: Simulators like Pokemon Showdown are the only places to get consistent rated 6v6 singles battles. Showdown uses Smogon tiers.

    • What does it mean when you guys say it is banned from smogon I don’t get it who cares what smogon says about what pokemon you use. Please explain

          • When you play Pokemon Showdown, you need to deal with Smogon tiers. Whatever they say is law!

And before you say “Just Play the Real Game”, Wi-Fi Battle Spot singles is 3v3.

Do you want to bother adding friend codes before a fight with a random dude just to get a 6v6? Nope.

          • I saw your post too thank you for explaining it to me XD I have seen a lot of people post about smogon banning and I am just like who cares I didn’t know showdown works that way I have noticed they have tiers just didn’t think about it XD

          • To be honest 3v3 is better. More skill in choosing your pokemon, and 6v6 is usually just an extension of 3v3 just with more cycling pokemon. Just my opinion though.

          • True but with 6v6 the strategy and skill of anticipating different moves your openent it’s really fun. It’s a long battle and anything can change in a 6v6.

          • Well it isn’t that a good point but one pokemon at a time with multiple strategies in a battle is exciting IMO. I only do singles pretty much because I find them enjoyable to see how I can counter and if I can guess what my opponent will do. In doubles it’s different because it’s 2 and 2 so not much hazard and such. In 3v3 there is not as much strategy since they are short battles. And tbh from the people I have battled I have not experienced much strategy it was just attack attack. I always use strategy no matter what kind I use

          • I dunno. There seem to be even more broken stuff in 3v3… can be solved by correct Pokemon selection though, but it becomes a guessing game.

Anyway, I’m guessing some people prefer 6v6 singles because they’re used to it since Gen 1. I’m a VGC person, myself so doubles is my real game. (Got destroyed in PJT lel.)

          • Yeah that is true, especially for pokemon like mega kanga aka Mrs. I have about 10 standard sets that can be used.

Mmhm, I feel like tradition is a big part of it. For better or for the worse is unknown to me, but what I can say is that I appreciate both 6v6 and 3v3, although I play doubles.

          • Smogon banned Aegislash from OU battles…. On Showdown, you can’t use Aegislash in OU battles and lower… The reason you use showdown is because it is the only place to get consistent 6 vs 6 battles, but it follows what smogon says not to use…

    • I think I’ll just make a new team. Not that I ever used Aegislash at all… and I didn’t see it as a problem since my Landorus’ Earthquake destroys it all the time with no risk for touching that King’s Shield. Shrug. Oh well.

      • I actually have a question about what you told me below. The thing is does showdown work with an accurate hp bar. What I have noticed is it works by percentages but I have always thought that in a battle in game the damage taken would b much different

        • The HP works correctly, it’s only shown as percentages. If you highlight your own Pokemon’s HP bar, you’ll see the actual HP amount, I think.

You can’t see your opponent’s actual HP in battles, the percentage just makes it easier to read for Showdown.

  1. Any chance that Primal Zygarde/Mega Zygarde(s)/Zygarde’s Evolution Placeholder Data may be spoiled in ORAS’ hardrive when hacked like how hackers discovered that Kyurem would get new forme(s) when they hacked BW?

  4. So get this. With Shell Armour and Boosted defence and special attack, imagine a Calm Mind Slowbro. Since you can’t crit it, it will be tanking hits for days, and slowly powering up to whoop yo ass.
