I swear shinies must also be linked to IV’s somehow, because when I breed for 5-6 iv shinies it takes ages, but if I’m MM’ing a 3iv poke for better ivs I always hatch them :/

I haven’t tipped in a long time and accidently hatched 2 shiny tangela’s in a span of 15 eggs. I noticed that they show how much we tipped throughout the lifespan of our save file on global link, but I’m not sure if it contributes to anything.
