Another year, another E3. The next few days are going to make up the biggest week in gaming this year, with tonnes of gaming related news coming in from every direction. As we did last year we will cover only Nintendo’s Digital Event (though we will be covering all the other conferences and the entire E3 week over on Retry Level!), but we’re allowing discussion for absolutely anything related to E3 in this post.

We want to hear your E3 predictions, what games do you think will be revealed? What games would you like to see revealed, but are just wishful thinking? Perhaps most importantly for a Pokémon site what information do you think we will receive on Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? Or even Pokken Fighters?

So, what are you waiting for? Get those predictions in and let’s see who can harness their inner-Xatu and guess correctly!

  4. I’m thinking we’ll get a reveal on the newest Zelda title first and foremost. A nice trailer for ORAS, maybe Pokken fighters will be announced as well. I’m also thinking we’ll see some surprises that are totally out of left field, like a star fox announcement. Finally a 3DS revision, likely something deemed more of a pro system, hd screen, second thumb stick.

  5. I’m gonna make a bold prediction for ORAS news at E3. I see them announcing Mega Sceptile, Swampert, and get this…DIANCIE! I also think we’ll get some video trailer of the game, and see the re-design of certain characters 😀

  13. At E3 they plan to reveal that Yoshi and Kirby will be DLC Guests for Pokemon ORAS, and can be purchased from the Eshop for 1.99 a piece.

    Kirbi is Fairy Type and has Forecast ability
    Yoshi is Dragon type and has Friend Guard

  19. I had an idea for a game. It plays off the Pokken idea, but the premise is that you start off as a young fighter in an old Japan-esque region (kind of like conquest) and you get a tyrogue as your starter. You can choose later which evolution you want. Basically, all the battles are two-dimensional fighter game fights, and you challenge dojos across the region to defeat their masters and become the regional champion. Also, all the pokemon are fighting pokemon, or can evolve into fighting pokemon, or are just bipedal and appropriate. You develop bonds with wild pokemon to get them to join you, and you can level up and evolve and all that. Sounds pretty cool, right?

  23. I know it’s VERY unlikely, but i really want Nintendo to announce a new Kid Icarus game for the Wii U. Kid Icarus: Uprising is one of my favorite games of all time and i’d love to see a sequel that improves the gameplay, graphics and, most important, the multiplayer.

  38. Last two questions before I really get going.

    1. Are you dissapointed that we’ll most likely have Birch give us the starter? I will. I was really enjoying the “Friend giving us the Starter” cliché we’ve been having twice in a row.

    2. Do the rivals in R/S/E act like rivals? I can’t stand the whole friends being rivals thing any longer.

    • In the corocoro scans it said that the gender you didn’t pick would “support” you. Close to what they’ve said in the past few games where they aren’t really challenges 🙁

    • Well here’s some food for thought, Brendan is originally from Johto region. In the beginning of the game he moves to Littleroot. It’s VERY possible (maybe after 1 badge or so, like in XY) that the protagonist we didn’t choose will give us a Johto starter, while Birch gives us the Hoenn one!

      • I hope so. I need a Mega Typhlosion. Most likely though, they’ll end up giving us a choice of Johto starters after we get 200 Pokemon like in the originals.

  55. At E3 the games that we are 100% sure are coming is Sonic Boom (both Wii U & 3DS), Legend of Zelda for Wii U, Hyrule Warriors, and Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS.

    They are going to show off ORAS for sure! That would be a missed opportunity! I think we will see a ton of cool things! Supposebly this image is supposed to have everything Nintendo is going to show at E3! Let’s wait till June 10th to find out! :3 (Refresh for the image.)

      This looks like the least “trollish” list I’ve seen so far, but I’m still suspicious about SMT x FE being there, even just having a trailer. 😀

      • Yarn Yoshi is made by the same team that made Kirby Epic Yarn! It’s supposed to be close to it! Lots of people are hype for the game! As for SMTxFE they just showed us a teaser! IDK if the game is going to be tactical or RPG based.

    • I’d rather not have you believe this thing. It’s easily reproducable by anyone. As a additional note, Nintendo does never make such documents in advance, to avoid any leaks.
      It’s also missing Mario Maker, which seems a more credible rumour than this one. If Mario Maker is fake, than certainly this is also fake.

    • I think this list is fake. I doubt they’ll ever make a Super Mario Sunshine HD. Also there is nothing about Mario Maker as that is apparently ‘confirmed’ in the Nintendo line-up at E3.

  57. I really feel like Relicanth is going to get a prehistoric/ancient/primal devo.

    Discovered by chance during deep-sea explorations, it has not changed since ancient times. A Pokémon that was once believed to have been extinct. The species has not changed its form for 100 million years.

    I think Relicanth’s Devo stone will be exclusive to Alpha Sapphire.
    And I think Wailord will get a Mega that is exclusive to Omega Ruby (the stone atleast).

    Underwater to access the regis I remember the braille text told us we had to have “First Relicanth” (sounds like alpha, first/beginning) and “Last Wailord” (sounds like omega, last/end). I know it was referencing to how we should have them in our party but they could easily play on that this time around.

  58. I’m not expecting anything new. I’m sure they’ll just rehash the newly revealed Mega’s and maybe the original footage with Groudon and Kyogre. But a boy can always hope, am I right?

        • Nope. I prefer Cyrus. He was more terrifying. He had no emotions and heart and was willing to make a world where those things didn’t exist.
          I find that situation more terrifying then land/ocean taking over. I like emotions.
          But that is my opinion.

          • His plan made it seem like he did, but he in the game did not sound evil.
            His intentions were, but his character development did not show enough of it.
            I ahd no idea what his plans were until it was explained to me

          • He did not sound evil, because he was those types of villains where they think what they are doing is right. Cyrus thought emotions were weak and wanted to rid the world of them because he thought the world would be better. He is like Lysandre but even worse.
            Plus a guy without emotions or care usually doesn’t sound evil. He has no emotion to make him evil. And that is what makes him terrifying. He has no emotions or care to whatever happens. He has antisocial personality disorder, or something similar to it.

            Even if he did have that, it is not represented enough in the games for it to be noticed.
            He was way tooo generic in the games.
            All villains think what they’re doing is right.
            I think what’s scarier than cyrus is lysander.
            He KNEW what he was doing was wrong, yet had no remorse with killing everyone.
            Cyrus thought HE was right.
            It all makes a difference.
            I was about 10 when I played d/p/pl and the plot made no sense.
            HE thought emotions were weak????
            Emotions are part of the human mind, people can CHOOSE to have emotions!!!
            And I’ll stick with what I had said before.
            Just because A plan is far-fetched doesnt make it any better.

          • To be fair, Emotions can make people weak. Especially when they let their emotions control their actions. That’s why you either learn to control them…or people like Cyrus call you weak and plan your extermination.

          • Did Cyrus say they were? I thought he believed they weren’t a choice which led him to believe humans were weak and create a universe without them. Some people can be emotionless though and experience loss of emotion if they experience traumatic events or something like that.

          • So he’s extremely antisocial. His parents (I think) were in platinum and they explain about his past. I’m not sure if they say he was traumatized though. But I don’t think he wanted to be alone necessarily, he wanted to create a universe where he was the god so he could shape what he thought was a universe worth living in. That would mean creating his own races of super humans that aren’t governed by emotions I guess

          • Antisocial Personality Disorder. They don’t have emotions because they never understood them in the first place.

          • Yes, but there are clues. He thought emotions were weak, did not have emotions, said he didn’t even care to TG, that the universe is not for them, but for himself. Didn’t care for Pokemon, which I will admit, most Pokemon villains don’t care for Pokemon. But what was different was his lack of emotions/understanding of them, and his lack of remorse to all people, even his comrades.
            It was all I needed really.

          • But he didn’t understand them. When he was angered, he did not understand why. He thought he was incomplete. Not perfect.

          • No I’m pretty sure there’s some old couple that says they raised cyrus when he was a boy and he didn’t like other children and yadayada. But controlling Time and Space would make you a master of the universe I suppose. He could probably time travel back to the start of the universe and then use palkia to shape his own universe I guess. Idk! The evil leaders never really think their plans through too much xD See every team ever other than maybe team Rocket

          • Lysandre may have known what he was doing was wrong, but he did have remorse. Notice the crying when he said Pokemon won’t exist. He knew some people cared, but thought most people were filth. He had remorse.
            Not necessarily. Most villains are people who are in the right, who are normal people who have no idea that their actions are villainous. They think what they are doing is right because they do not see the consequence in the end.
            Cyrus thought he was right because, in his antisocial personality disorder mind, he thought he was right. He never understood emotions, had true no remorse for people, even Team Galatic he didn’t care for.
            None of Pokemon’s villains had anything close to ASPD. None. That is far from generic as it gets.
            Some people with that kind of personality disorder cannot choose to have emotions. They don’t have any. It is part of the human mind, but their brains do not comprehend it. People do not ‘choose’ emotions, nor can they ‘choose not to have them. ASPD people do not choose emotions, because their brains do not have that function.
            His plan was far-fetched. That is not why I like it/think it is better. Why do you assume I like it because his plan was so huge? All villains plans are huge. Wanting more land/sea. Far-fetched. Wanting to kill everybody? Far-fetched. Wanting to rule the world and separate human and Pokemon? Far-fetched. The only ones not far-fetched are Team Rocket. They wanted money. That’s it.
            I love how he had ASPD and had no remorse for anyone. He truly did not care for the lives of his team or anyone. He sought to bring something we taken for granted away to ‘better’ the world.
            That story made me realize humans are valuable creatures and emotions/knowledge/willpower are very powerful things. That you should try to get rid of them or else life as we know it wouldn’t exist.
            Far from generic.

          • I have yet to see anything like it ever. No story I have encountered goes into emotions/willpower/knowledge like this.
            And I am not making him seem like a superstar, I’m giving him the credit he deserves as a villain. Because he truly was an evil villain.
            Say what you want, but I am sticking to what I got. Stick to what you have to say, but I’ll always appreciate villains. Even if they are ‘generic’.

          • Only Joker is known to have ASPD. And most serial killers.
            Giovanni is not like Cyrus. Not even close. What similarities are there?

          • But Giovanni has emotions.
            In fact, there isn’t even enough evidence to say he has it. Cyrus even quoted that he did not care for his own team.
            I may not have played Kanto thoroughly, but I know he had anger, more than Cyrus really. Even when defeated at Platinum, he may appear angry, but he still did not understand why.

          • And in pokemon origins (although not in the game) Giovanni was shown to be obsessive (he becomes a little obsessed with Red in a very pedo way…) and also severe anger problems after red gets to him.

          • I thought Lysandre was kinda lame. I felt he could’ve been a lot cooler if he had a little more development. Plus fighting him got to be annoying. You had to fight him twice in the final HQ and the second time he had weird doc ock arms and I was like wtf? What are those for?

          • He represented most villains of the world. Trying to do something right the wrong way. I appreciate him for that.

          • I don’t think creating a new universe to get rid of spirit is the right thing xD
            But I guess he wanted to humans to be perfect and complete, so, maybe.

          • Their goals are kinda similar. It all boils down to destroying the current world to create a perfect one.

  60. Have you guys noticed how much Ken S’s style has changed! I mean look at R/B/Y art and then compare it to X/Y or OR/AS art! It’s quite the difference!

  64. Anyone else feel like the signature move for Mega Sceptile might be Dragon Tail? To me, that just seems so natural, even though regular Sceptile can’t learn it normally.

      • All the power of it’s tail just strikes the opponent dead on! I hope it gets an attack boost when it mega evolves.

        • That seems legit too, although when it mega evolves, it get lightning rod which boost sp.atk by one if it absorbs electric type moves, so what kind of moveset would you run for it?

          • To be honest, thats where I’m stumped… It’s like deciding between mega charizard x or y… This is in game team wise, not competitive battling.

          • The whole Trecko line has a special place in my heart because they were the first starter pokemon i ever got, as Sapphire was my first game.

          • Of, course, i could never beat the game, as i only trained my Sceptile and Steven kept destroying me with skarmory, but still, lots of good times. Now I train my entire team. Can’t wait for these games!

    • I would not mind but since Sceptile is my favourite starter I would lie for it to have Dragon Pulse in the moves! Of course I would not mind if Sceptile got bigger boost in Attack than in Sp. Attack like Mega Lucario did, Swords Dance, Leaf Blade, Dragon Claw and E-quake or Rock Slide

  94. Got my Timid HP Fire Treecko xD 31/8/31/30/31/30 IV spread. The 8 Attack IVs are excellent, less damage from Foul Play. Onto the Jolly one, and then I’ll breed the perfect Timid for Djja 😛

  97. I asked this long ago but didn’t hear back (probably because I posted it in the Coro Coro Leak Article while everyone was on the Get Star Article).

    Anyway, will Team Magma and Team Aqua reappear in the anime despite disbanding in AG? This is the first time remakes of games are made without having Team Rocket as the main antagonists.

    • I don’t think the anime revisits “remade” gens, though. It never did. Maybe Ash comes back to Kanto for a bit at the end of every gen, but otherwise, I don’t see Magma and Aqua reuiniting.

      I bet May will show up in Series X/Y though.

  101. I never get why people think Sinnoh is slow.
    I just really don’t get it.
    Not because I’m a Sinnoh fangirl and think everything Sinnoh is better (because that is not true in the slightest, don’t you ever assume that of me D:<)
    Maybe some animations in battle were slow, but that was really never a problem for me.
    Just wanting to know. Mildly curious.

      • Yeah, same. It was the same as any Pokemon game, speed-wise.
        Yeah, some took longer than others, but I never really cared.

    • I’m not sure either. There is the lag for one thing. Maybe they think it’s slow because of how far apart the cities are, the back tracking, Victory Road, and the fog.

      • Yeah, maybe the story too. Like the story takes off later rather than at the start.
        But that is what I liked. Cause when you get to it, you’re glad to make it to the real story 😀

    • I started with Sinnoh and I loved it, but then my older brother gave me his emerald and….
      It was like shifting from 5 mph to 60 in 2 seconds…

        But then I was wondering if I should quit Pokemon, like my brother. I was about to, until I found out about DP. I picked up Diamond, and it reminded me why I love this series and how I shouldn’t quit anytime soon, like my brother 😀

      • It’s just the walking takes SOOOOOOOOOO long, and the speaking speed is poo poo. :c
        The battle enterings take a little longer than needed, and the map and the whole feel of the game is a little slower.

          I always pick the fast option for the text. It’s in options. And it was just as fast as other games 😀
          And Sinnoh just had the slow feel made me love it more. Like it fit Sinnoh theme. Don’t take life too fast 😀

            hard to watch
            I used to feel bad because it looked like he was struggling XD
            There’s relaxing, then 2 slow.
            Unova had more of a relaxing pace.
            The speed is actually what made me shift over towards gen 3 and 5 XDD

            It felt fine to me, the same as any other Pokemon game :3 But that;s just me. I respect all opinions 😀

    • Surf, the way the HP bar goes down, the move animations, and everything else in battle slows things down. Also, maybe walking through snow was another factor for people feeling it was too slow.Of course, they fixed A LOT of it in Pt, and future generations have learned from DP’s mistakes.

  102. I would hate to be caught by a trainer if I was a pokemon. You are pretty much trapped inside a pokeball for life, and when you come out, you have to have battles with your own kind! :O

        • i want to experiment and see what happens! i also wanted to catch a horde of dittos,apply at a poem on center and then morph them into a poke ball and switch it with other trainers and take their pokemon XD!when the trainers come back and there off they will have a party full of dittos XD!

    Advance Wars: After FE: Awakening, I’m all in for a new AW on the 3DS.

    And I do hope they introduce a new 3DS revision, something that is still compact but sleeker looking with a better battery life and screen quality. And I’m not particulary interested in all the other games on the show, will rather wait for when they release. 🙂

I really hope they add better moves to the Hoenn startes, especially to Scpetile, I was talking with a guy and he said that Mega Sceptile would be better in Doubles because it is immune to Thunder Wave, to Stun Spore and no Electric-type attack could deal damage. and also I would like to see Petal Blizzard in its movepool or Dragon Pulse if it becomes a Special Attacker even more

    • I was wondering why people were saying that too. There were some kind of icons in the gameplay pictures, but i don’t believe them to be mega icons.

      • Look at Kyogre’s screen. There IS a little mega evo icon but it’s closer to the trainer so I’m pretty sure that it’s the trainer’s pokemon that has a mega.

  121. And so it begins! I’m excited to see what Sony have in store, because they are second best behind Nintendo…(totally fact, not opinion). I doubt that I would be getting a PS4 any time soon, but more games never hurts. And 27 hours until the Digital Event! I can’t wait for anything at all!

    • I care for the nintendo one more than the Sony or Microsoft ones because the most recent sony console i own is the PS3. But they’re gonna dish out PS4 games. As for the xbox, my brother owns the xbox one and i don’t live with him so there’s no reason for me to hype about it. As for Nintendo, I have a 3DS and that’s current 😀 xD

  124. Ni No Kuni made me care for the PS3 temporarily, but I sold that and the console already, so I’m only left with my 3DS and Wii U.

    The only things I care about that’s on other systems only right now… are Killer Instinct, and Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

    I think i just need a bit more shading in certain areas and i’m done with Mega Scep :3 btw. This is an edit of the BW sprite for it. I edit sprites when their megas look nearly the same (Body shape). I did the Mega Swamps sprite from scratch cause the body types are way different.

  128. So I have a theory as to why Mega Sceptile got Lightning Rod.

    It’s well known that sometimes lightning storms can cause forest fires by striking a tree, which then spreads. As if it’s tail wasn’t already a giveaway, it now looks more like an actual tree, specifically a pine tree. This makes sense as lightning causes fire and Sceptile is weak to fire. Also, seeing as Sceptile is a Pokemon known for being a king of the forests, I can understand why it got designed like this.

      • Entire pages of stuff you wrote didn’t really pertain to the main topic so you could have left them out. Like “Examples of Innovation” at the beginning. I understand you were explaining Innovation with Lego but you seemed to tangent off a little by over-explaining the history of Lego. Remember, quantity doesn’t always equal quality. Just some constructive criticism, okay? Okay, good 😀

        • I understand. I had no choice though as they were mandatory for my project. Mandatory sections were: What is Innovation, Bibliography (duh), Examples of Innovation, Lego Innovations (easiest form of innovation to explain), two to three sidebars, and captions and pictures.

    • It was her favorite doll. She took it everywhere, clutching it tight in her small hands. The doll did everything with her. It went to school, sleepovers, dinners, and even tagged along for baths.

      The two were inseparable. She even claimed the first day she became a trainer, she’d still carry it around to remember her childhood.

      The doll might have been a bit odd looking, but that didn’t change anything. It’s what she liked, made the doll truly unique.

      But as years went on, she found interest in other dolls. It didn’t make sense, junking the old doll for new ones.

      Yet, worn and dirty with age, the doll was sent away.

      It lay in the dumpster, surrounded by trash bags and food wrappers. Not where it belonged. not at all.

      Slowly, the arms twitched, fingers clawing into the trash bags. Its eyes were an angry red, and the zipper-mouth turning into an angry scowl.

      Banette rose from the dumpster, ready to find that little girl who threw it away.

      The neighborhood—it hadn’t changed a bit. How long had it been, anyway? Banette surely couldn’t have been in there that long. It’d find that sweet little girl again and cuddle right back up in her arms.

      Trash—what a joke. How could someone throw it away? A favorite should not be treated this way. You always kept your favorite. You never tossed it away.

      The grudge grew stronger as the familiar houses of the block came into view. Her house wasn’t far; just a few more to pass by.

      At last, it came into view. The window was opened, letting the warm summer breeze pass through.

      To Banette’s disgust, new dolls littered the floor of her room. Other Pokémon, all new and fresh, not a stain on them, all set perfectly in a row.

      Its owner wasn’t so little anymore. It had been a few years. Banette floated over to the calendar. Tomorrow was her tenth birthday. She’d be a trainer tomorrow.

      Banette slashed its claws through the calendar. A trainer? No chance at that.

      The slashing continued, slitting all of the dolls “throats”. Stuffing pooled out, the dolls landing on the floor silently.

      No, no, this wasn’t enough. The girl would get new dolls, and these ones would end up in the dumpster as well.

      There was a simple solution to that, at least.

      She barely had a chance to scream. Just a whimpered gurgle as the claws tore through flesh, leaving a clean, long cut down her neck.

      The girl would never, ever abandon her dolls ever again.
