English Pokémon Battle Trozei Mini-Site Opens

A mini-site for the upcoming puzzle game Pokémon Battle Trozei has now opened for English-speaking audiences, accessible here. The site features a brief rundown of the game’s features as well as screenshots of the gameplay. The download-only title will hit Japan on March 12 for ¥800, with a European launch, under the name Pokémon Link: Battle!, following closely on March 13 for £7.19 (UK) & €7.99 (EU). Americans will be able to play a week after their European counterparts on March 20 for $7.99.

I’d also like to touch upon the game’s name. What is a ‘trozei’ anyways?! I’ll quickly explain: toru (取る) is the Japanese word for “get”. In Japanese the game’s title is ポケモンバトルトローゼ, or Pokémon Battoru Torouze; this roughly translates to Pokémon Battle: Let’s Get! It makes more sense with Japanese grammatical structure, but in English we’d flip it around and say “let’s get Pokémon”. You may be wondering why it’s “torouze” and not “toru” as I brought up, but this is a colloquial verb conjugation in the ‘let’s do’ form with “ze”, an exclamatory, at the end. Hope that made sense 😀

  1. I’m also trying to form a defensive team, but this is all I can think of so far! I’m stumped so far, I mean, I cant think of anything to fit with it.

    • Mandibuzz? He’s my go-to toxic staller(could go with tentacruel?). You could run an offensive set with Gogoat, too. Hope this helps

    • You may need (in order of importance):
      1. Something that stops the enemies from setting up, fast/prankster and with Taunt (Sableye, Thundurus-I, Infernape) OR eliminates setups with defensive Roar or Whirlwind (Skarmory, roar on Aggron maybe)
      2. A Stealth Rock setter to discourage switching (only non-tutor rockers – Tyranitar, Mamoswine, Ferrothorn, Forretress)
      3. A fast or scarfed Pokemon to mop up or revenge ko at the end, especially something to eliminate Gliscor (really, this baby will out-stall you) (Infernape, Weavile, Mega Manectric, Aerodactyl, Noivern, Terrakion)
      4. Something that is Earthquake immune (Rotom-H, Rotom-W, Talonflame, Gengar, Eelektross, Charizard)

  2. I guess I’ll be getting Yoshi’s New Island, it’s been 3 months without a 3DS game. Supposedly it’s not as bad as people say, although I’m still waiting to hear how the music turned out. Video game music is my my only audible tolerance.

      • Is it sad that I’ve never played an Earthbound game? I’ve played SSBB w/ Ness and lucas but no mainstream games.

        • There’s only one Earthbound game state-side, and that’s Earthbound (Mother 2) on the SNES. It’s prequel, Mother, nor it’s sequel, Mother 3 (which would be Earthbound 2) were officially released here. I’m currently playing Earthbound on the Wii U and it’s spectacular, an instant favorite.

          • A boy named Ness witnesses a meteorite crash in his small town, prompting him to visit it and meet a magical bee named Buzz Buzz (I think). This bee has prophetic powers, and when smacked by an old woman and dying, tells Ness that his destiny is to find eight Sanctuary locations around the world, then dies. He then goes to Onett (awesome music by the way), Twoson, Threed, and Fourside, among many other locations to meet new friends and battle hippies and…vomit. It’s an RPG too. It’s a rare game but totally worth it.

          • He’s the leader of the group, he’s the only one who can access these Sanctuaries and fulfill his destiny.

          • Yes. He’s one of the weakest characters in SSBB though, so…. That’s all I know about him.

          • Just looked it up, PK is the original Japanese name for “PSI”, or the psychic powers in Earthbound.

          • I absolutely hate how things become trending. Do people try to act “cool” by doing what everybody else does? Who the hell cares what others do? Just by doing what you like makes you unique! WHO’S WITH MEH!

          • I’m glad Pokemon isn’t too trendy and mainstream xD I would hate for the ignorant kids of today’s youth to use pokemon only based on design, complain, complain, complain, call things “Gay” and flock on over to the next cod game.

            Those kids are in all honestly entertained by anything that moves.xD

I feel like Game Freak should do something about the Hidden Abilities being Near Impossible to acquire without some sort of hacking(minus the small amount available via hordes or friend safari) Closing the Dream World for gen 5 might have been more in preperation for X and Y, as well as the Shutdown of DS wifi in May, but it Doesn’t Help when Gen 6 has no Equivalent to it…. I was starting to get into the metagame when I realized that Hidden Abilities are such a big part of it yet Impossible to get for the pokemon not in the kalosdex or Friend Safari that were obtainible… one solution would be to make it that a Male Hidden ability Kecleon with Protean could make Protean Froakie with a Female Greninja…

    Instead they make another Useless Website……
