Could Pokémon come to iOS & Android?

Nintendo reported their third straight loss to investors, and it seems as though they may be willing to seek new ways to make profit.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, said he would continue to run the company and added, “We are thinking about a new business structure. Given the expansion of smart devices, we are naturally studying how smart devices can be used to grow the game-player business. It’s not as simple as enabling Mario to move on a smartphone.”

As iOS and Android devices have gained market traction and improved hardware, they’ve been seen as direct competitors to Nintendo’s handheld consoles. Mobile gaming applications often cost only a couple of dollars, much less than traditional handheld games.

The Pokémon Company has released some apps for mobile devices, including their 3D Pokédex and a Japan-exclusive simple rhythm game which tied into the trading card game, but they have never released other games.

We’ll have to watch Nintendo’s strategies closely. Would you like to see Mario, Zelda or Pokémon on your phone or tablet?

    it all started when it was my birthday like 8 years ago~
    i had heard about a new game called “pokemon emerald” from one of my friends.
    I had only played pokemon sapphire by that point,
    and i loved it! and i wanted pokemon emerald too.
    but for some reason on my birthday my brothers got to pick a present for themselves too, so we decided whoever found it first.
    so at gamestop, my older brother found it first, and i was okay with it
    for like two seconds.
    then i looked at it, and realized what i wouldve missed if i didnt get it!!!!!!
    and then i ran over to him and we fought for it.
    in the middle of gamestop.
    I won, because i was taller than my older brother back then
    then the guy at gamestop was all like, “you better really love this game, you fought your brother over it!”
    and i did love it.
    for 8 years (now)
    and i will continue to.~
