While we wait for Pokémon Bank, let’s all do something useful before we die of boredom. The more we discuss it, the less they can ignore it, right? Right?

So today’s question is: what special Pokémon have you waiting on your older games to be transferred over? Are they mostly BW(2) Pokémon or does anyone still have Pokémon that they caught in Ruby and Sapphire? Got any shinies to append to your already-over-50-shinies-collection? This is the time you’re allowed to brag, so be sure to take some pictures to show us the cool stuff!

I’ve currently aced one exam and I’m already on to my next. Just two more weeks and I can go skiing :D. Happy commenting and have fun at school!

  3. 1) Congrats Dae on your exam. Have fun skiing!

    2) By trading some of my shinies for Bank Legendaries, cloning them, and trading them away for other Bank Legendaries, I’ve managed to almost fill one of my boxes with them. So non-event wise, I’m fully content.

    3) As for what I want to get from the Bank on my own, I wish to get my event legendaries (Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Deoxys, and Darkrai), my Zorua that I’ve bred and EV Trained, and (yes I know it’s “illegal”) my female Contrary Friend Ball Serperior that I want to breed in XY (I want to take advantage of the Bank’s weakness in Hack Checking).

  10. First and foremost what I can’t wait to transfer is my first Pokemon, Sceptile 😀 Been with me all these years! 41 ribbons and counting ^_^

    I also want to transfer some of my shinies, which include: Mudkip (For a friend), Cyndaquil (For a friend), Arcanine, Flygon, Zigzagoon, Charizard, and those shinies that were handed to you in Haxorus, Garchomp, and Dragonite 🙂

    Then I want to begin transferring the National Dex, which I have already set up in order on my Black 2 Version.

    • In my sapphire, the Treecko I got at the start was shiny. Sceptile has always been and always will be my favorite pokemon. When I was a kid and did not know much about how to play pokemon, my grandma bought me a little sceptile plush and it has been my favorite pokemon ever since. I have transferred and used my shiny sceptile in every pokemon game i could think of and cannot wait to use it in x and y!

  12. So I finally started Breeding my Fighting type Team
    So far I’m have a Semi-good Hawlucha I may Re-breed and a Heracross
    but aside from those who else would be good
    I’m thinking of using either Machamp or Conkeldurr for the Powerhouse
    Hariyama or Scrafty for a wall
    and either Lucario for a Special Sweeper

    • Hariyama are tricky to use because of its defensive stats. Mine runs an adamant nature with 252 Sp. Defense, 12 HP and 244 Defense. It tends to last a good while too.

  17. The first Pokemon that I’ll transfer is my Lv. 100 event Darkrai from Pearl. It has to be my favorite Pokemon that I own, and I cannot wait to be able to transfer it.

  22. Right in my W2 file is, my entire Emerald team, Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, the Sinnoh shiny trio, shiny Ducklett, shiny Litwick, and my first fully EV trained Pokemon, Litwick 🙂

    Cannot wait for everything to calm down so they can release it already.

  32. Only things that I will transfer from B2 to XY are a few events… and regular IV’d pokes when I need them. I don’t plan to transfer any shinies over. I prefer my only shinies to be kalosian shinies (with pentagon)… Pokes just look so odd without it.

  62. Something I would like to see in the future of games are different sprites/models for the eggs. I’m tired of the same green spotted egg. Why don’t they make a certain egg design for every egg group…? Like all dragon eggs come out a certain color, all mineral pokes hatch a certain color, etc.

  68. My predictions of Ash’s future team:

    1. Pikachu: Of course.

    2. Talonflame: The regional bird always fully evolves.

    3. Greninja: Please Froakie, please be Ash’s first Water Starter to fully evolve! Heck, evolve period, but twice would be a lot better!

    4. Phantump: With no Grass Starter for the first time ever, he’s going to need to rely on a new grass type. And with Pumkaboo, Gogoat, and Chespin owned by three other main characters, Phantump is the only Kalos Grass type available for him. Also, he’s never OFFICIALLY caught a Ghost Pokémon

    5. Meowstick Male: Just use Psychic for once (and it’s the only Kalos Psychic type available for him.

    6. Mawile: This may sound biased of me because Mawile’s my favorite Pokémon, but he should really use it because it could be his new unappreciated powerhouse like his Infernape in DP. Also, Mawile gets a Mega and he’s very interested in Megaevolution. It’s a Steel/Fairy (both of which he’s never used), And having it on his team would make up for the lack of appearances it’s had in the anime (with only one episode it appeared in, not counting cameos).

    • if he gets phantump he wont evolve it, Male meowstic fits him nicely.. he may get a gogoat instead, maybe they will all have a rideable pokemon…. couldn’t see him with mawile but I’m sure he will get something that mega evolves now that you think about it hmm

      • I fear that his mega might be Lucario. I’m not saying I don’t like it, it’s just TOO overrated and Ash isn’t the type to use the most overrated Pokémon. Sure, he used Charizard, but that was during OS though to attract viewers.

        • its the only mega that fits him next to charizards.. who will surely make at least 1 appearance if not back on team, which would be odd because they brought him back randomly in BW. Heracross looks good, maybe he will bring that back, venasaur doesn’t fit ash to me

          • Lol, it’s still a Bulbasaur! As for Charizard and Heracross, I honestly don’t see their coming back. As you said, Charizard just reappeared in BW and did nothing after Episode N, and he hasn’t bonded enough with Heracross to Megaevolve.

          • he would have plenty of time time to bond, the series just started. im sure he will show off charizard Y.
            Also Everyone knows its a bulbasaur still. I’m saying venusaur doesn’t fit him so he wont even make it to its final stage to meg evolve

          • Yeah, Venusaur doesn’t fit him at all. As for Charizard, it’s too early for him to bring it back. It’s too powerful and would sweep through all the gym battles.

            Besides, it’s best for him not to show off his old Pokémon. No reason to overwhelm his companions, especially Serena who just started her journey.

          • Wait, he’ll have Talonflame! It’s one thing to replace Unfezant in BW since she was a Normal type, but he can’t have TWO Fire/Flying Pokémon in the same party! And even when it Megaevolves, it’ll still be Fire/Flying, as a paralell to Red’s Megazard X!

          • why would it be in the same party at the same time? He will mix his team.. or not.. it won’t matter in the league. I’m not even saying it will be in the league just saying it will make a comeback too mega evolve

          • I just don’t want Charizard to come back at all. Sure, it’s loved and overrated, but it’s overstayed it’s welcome. I mean, it was just in BW out of all things.

          • Remember how weak Pikachu was against a lv5 Snivy when he got to Unova. The anime has a way of making great and supposedly strong Pokemon look weak as Pidgey.

          • That was BW. XY is a godsend and makes up for all the mistakes BW did!

            Heck, Pikachu doesn’t suck anymore!

          • Personally I don’t think it would of hurt to give Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu the fairy type so they could at least have a good typing and that would make Pikachu look great if it’s suddenly attack by a dragon type move like Draco Meteor in the anime and nothing happens. Now that would be awesome because even though Pikachu has been a mascot from the start, Pikachu could definitely do with something new.

          • Sadly they didn’t and Dedenne is the reason why. So people wouldn’t be worried about their type change if they got one.

    • I love Mawile too (I’ve got a shiny one) but what makes you think he won’t just call over his Charizard since it has two mega evolutions and fans (I think) would be thrilled to see Ash use his head to determine which Mega Evolution to use and besides Ash only had just brought back Charizard in Unova so it wouldn’t hurt for him to Adventure with his Charizard through Kalos.

      • That’s precisely the reason why I don’t think he’ll bring back Charizard. He just got it back in Unova, why bring it back? I’m sorry, I like Charizard as much as the next guy/gal, but it’s had way too much spotlight. Other pokémon need to shine to, ESPECIALLY new ones! The anime doesn’t revolve around Charizard, yet alone Pikachu.

        BTW, Ash has been using his head. He’s a lot smarter now.

        Also, why bring back Charizard if he’s going to have Talonflame?

        • klefki’s design is great, but if that’s all they can think if for water, then I won’t even bother anymore, it seems to simple and lacking motive

          • In my opinion, Snivy’s line is completely uninspired. It’s just a grass snake. They could use some new ideas, I guess…

          • The lore behind it is very well thought out, it derives from the theory that lizards lost their legs and became snakes as punishment I can’t remember where this is from but it is very clever. A jug though? I can’t imagine it. It has to be fake

          • I haven’t heard about this whole jug water starter thing before now, so I’m not sure about its backstory, but maybe it’s not just a jug? Like, maybe it’s a bottle nosed dolphin or something. I don’t know.

          • “A blue humanoid with a huge jug on its head” or something along those lines, I always pick water except this gen and gen 3. Don’t do this to me game freak, you can do better! Make a plesioth like starter or a merlock like starter, DONT DO THIS

          • That would be cool though! The water could be possessed and create the shape of a human. I could see some kind of Water/Ghost or Water/Ice typing.

  114. The introduction of Mega Evolutions was the GF’s smartest idea ever. Even if they did remakes of old games, new forms of older Pokemon is really refreshing. Still waiting on that Mega Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza X and Y mwahaha >:)

  123. Finally. My Disqus is back up and running! YAY. Well. It has been a long while since I’ve been on Disqus, maybe since X/Y’s release. Now to answer the question:
    I really don’t have much special to transfer over, just a Shiny Jolteon in Black and a TON of legends. BW2 is more useless (XD) to me, but it was a good game. I dunno about anything else, maybe my Level 100 Pikachu (NOT hacked). Other than that, I’d like to update everyone (who gives a shit) about what I have been doing.

    Well, I’ve been extremely busy with school. We’ve been getting weekend homework for about a month (F**K) and it’s practically school every single day. For me, I’m getting a 3-day weekend (in observance of MLK JR. Day) which is pretty epic. Finally some time with my Wii U, after about 2 weeks or so without playing it. GTA V has seemed to be taking up some of my spare time, with schoolwork and such taking up most of it.

    Upcoming Events for me:
    Large Exams: First week of February and sometime in March/April
    High School Application: Hopefully this weekend.
    Possibly Getting Braces: Late March or Early April. 🙁

    And that’s about it. Happy to be back, and hopefully we get some new news soon. There seems to have been a pattern from BW to BW2 and from BW2 to XY. 4 months from the game’s (English) release, a new game was announced. November, December, January and February are the 4 months after the XY’s release. Hopefully March CoroCoro (which comes out in February) will have some juicy game info. Then again, as Talesotaku said, Nintendo and GF don’t really do things by patterns. They try to hit us when we least expect it, and majorly surprise us (like an Early 6th Gen and BW2).

  127. Wow. Just wow. This Passerby challenged me to a flat double battle. His WHOLE ENTIRE team was shiny legendary Pokemon. Since my Pokemon team is level 50 normally, of course they KO’d everyone. It bugs me so much when people do that -__- Can you not rely on legendary Pokemon?

  134. I have a lot of special Pokémon I’m planning to transfer. I’ll be transferring my Torterra from my 1st run of Platinum (my first Pokémon!) and my Dialga, Palkia and Giratina and I’m also transferring my team from my 2nd run of Platinum. As soon as I finish my current Nuzlocke in Platinum, I’ll also be transferring the Pokémon I used in the Nuzlocke. From HeartGold, I’m transferring my Typhlosion from my 1st run of HG and my Swampert and Venusaur. My team from my 2nd run will be transferred too. I’m going to transfer my Samurott from White, a few teams I used in some tournaments with friends and my runthrough team in White 2. I’m also transferring my shinies (Meditite, Gyarados, Dratini and Haxorus) and my event Pokémon (Jirachi and Deoxys). I’ll transfer some others too for my Pokedex. Long answer, huh?

  188. Mandibuzz is a female only Pokemon, so it’s really annoying trying to breed a perfect 5IV one…I’ve got a 4 IV vullaby missing special defence, and a ditto with 2 IV including Special Defence.

  218. I’m starting to wonder if we do get Z, will it have the same story? I doubt it. With Zygarde being a neutralizing power between Yveltal and Xerneas, it seems as though a story for Zygarde would be involved with using Zygarde to stop a second war.
