Nintendo reported their third straight loss to investors, and it seems as though they may be willing to seek new ways to make profit.
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, said he would continue to run the company and added, “We are thinking about a new business structure. Given the expansion of smart devices, we are naturally studying how smart devices can be used to grow the game-player business. It’s not as simple as enabling Mario to move on a smartphone.”
As iOS and Android devices have gained market traction and improved hardware, they’ve been seen as direct competitors to Nintendo’s handheld consoles. Mobile gaming applications often cost only a couple of dollars, much less than traditional handheld games.
The Pokémon Company has released some apps for mobile devices, including their 3D Pokédex and a Japan-exclusive simple rhythm game which tied into the trading card game, but they have never released other games.
We’ll have to watch Nintendo’s strategies closely. Would you like to see Mario, Zelda or Pokémon on your phone or tablet?

yes, but all my pokemon where high level and it wouldn’t stay in the pokeball so I was like, maybe quick attack and it fainted. :/

That happened with my shiny Relicanth when it was at 1 HP. Fortunately it had Rock Head.

when I was younger I accidently ran from a shiny magikarp in sotopools (however you spell it) I was sick of running into magikarp so I was mashing the b button, that will forever be the shiny I let get away.

Thinking about it… When Nintendo says they’re studying the smart device industry… What if that means they may start making smart phones and tablets of their own!? No! The 2DS phone! The Tablet U? Da hell?!
Tablet U was one of my ideas. They would take the Wii U gamepad and make it into its own handleld device. I dunno, just Dedenne being imaginative.
Well, your idea of tablet U sounds like it could just be an app and the 2ds phone would hopefully go over better the the PlayStation phone…
PS Phone was a decent idea at first. But to be basically a PSGo… That turned me off. The Go was cool but lack of a UMD drive turned me off.
