PJM Interview Time!

I finally got some time to work on PJM! There’s still a lot to do, but that’s for when my finals are over. Now, I’d like to focus on writing my personal interview.

But what’s an interview without outsiders questions? Therefore I’m asking you to poke questions at me using the comments below. Be sure to upvote any questions from others you want to know too. The answers will only be featured in the magazine of course, but I will indicate which ones will be in.

In other related news, I’ve been toying with ‘buying’ fake ads. The way this would work is that there will be an art contest on the site where you have to draw fake in-universe ads, and the best ones get featured as an added bonus, filling up the magazine nicely with cool art. Still have to work this one out though, and I will share more details as the magazine moves along.

Now go shoot me some questions!

      • 1. Santalune Forest has the same layout as Viridian Forest.
        2. The entrance to the Victrory Road is next to the first city.
        3. As @thegreatcarbinkle:disqus mentioned, you can get the Kanto Starters and catch the Kanto Legendaries (except Mew of course)
        4. Poison is supereffective against two types again (it was supereffective against Bug in Gen 1 but changed in Gen II).

        • Can’t believe I didn’t notice the Victory Road part before. I really loved that when I was playing Fire Red.
Santlalune Forest did strike me me as somewhat familiar, but wasn’t able to put my finger on it till now
Guess I don’t have that much of an eye for detail

          • It felt familiar to me too, but I didn’t realize that they were exactly the same forest at the time. If you look them up from a bird’s eye view, they’re identical!

  1. Well, even though this article is about Dae’s interview, I sorta wanna interview you guys on a question that Lelouch’s comment made me think of. What is YOUR favorite Generation of Pokemon and why? Be as detailed as you want.

    • They’re all great, but I really liked Gen 6! Fairy Type and Megas were a nice addition to the games. The Kalos Pokemon are really cool, Greninja’s probably my favorite starter, both the fossil Pokemon are great, as well as Hawlucha, Pumpkaboo and Phantump!

      • I agree they’re all great! Gen 6 was a very nice way to bring together all the generations. And I definitely, definitely agree on the Fossils. Two very nice typings and they’re both unique and great!

    • I have to say Gen 5. They added a bunch of new Pokemon which I loved and the story plot was engaging in both BW and BW2. Serperior is my favorite starter from Gen 5 and I just love how they made the sprites come alive and constantly move unlike Gen 4. Pretty sick legends and there was a lot of variety in the gym leaders/elite four. Top 5 pokemon from that Gen would be Mienshao, Volcarona, Hydreigon, Gigalith, and Braviary

    • I’d have to go with Gen 5 for sentimental reasons. I went through this time where I conformed to the social norm that “Pokemon is stupid” and all that, not playing for years. I eventually found out about the gen 5 starters, and when I found out that the water type was based on an otter, I came back to the franchise with a lot of excitement (I think otters are so cool). Then I came across PJN looking for the leaked Pokemon list and have been here ever since. I was exposed to Corocoro, Pokemon Sunday/Smash, this site, and so much more I was not aware of during Gen 5 that it has to be my number one. There’s just a lot of sentimental value towards it.

    • Gen 3. It had the most colorful and creative pokemon imo and it had an awesome anime. I also loved the region and the music and the whole feeling of the game was so beautiful and relaxed! It makes me so happy when i play it :). And the plot was really good and i loved the gym leaders and the e4. The champion was da bomb diggity. and may and treecko tho >>

      • Steven is a boss and hope he comes back in a (hopefully) remake or in the future gens. I agree how creative the Pokemon were too and the sightseeing was just wonderful 😀

    • Gen III for me. First game I truly got addicted to. Dabbled with friend’s blue. Went bravely through Gold & Crystal. Emerald though, was the Jackpot. Starters were EPIC. The entire gen was mostly new. Wild pokes you found along the way were strategically placed. You had a lot of sea, which I like. Caught all (almost) Legendaries. First generation to include double battles, even had a double battle gym leader. Chamption had unique typings, Steel/Rock for Steven & Water for Wallace. Desert! that was a very, very creative addition. First gen to include areas with Weather. Sandstorms, Sun, Rain all were there. YOU”RE FATHER EXISTS & IS A GYM LEADER! Game was neither too easy nor impossible, though Norman did quite a number on me. Battle frontier was an interesting addition, let you see how tough you’re team really is.

To sum it up, it was a generation of many firsts:
First with an almost new lineup of pokes
      Double Battles
First were all starters are dual typed (fully evolved)
      Battle Tower & Frontier
      Areas with weather
Desert area (kinda redundant but it was a first)
      Contests & RIbbons
Two Evil Teams with something other than poison as their preferred type
First with two Pseudo Legends, Metagross & Salamence
      & I’m sure there’s more
      That’s why I a remake for this gen isn’t a matter of choice, it’s a must

  2. Hello everyone! Requested by popular demand, I will be posting
a bit of PJN history every Monday (called Memory Monday) for you guys since
most of you guys are relatively new to the site! Today’s topic will be about
    the P2 cast!

The P2 cast was named after the P2 laboratory in the Unova
region, a laboratory built for “unknown research”. The P2 cast was a weekly news roundup in the
form of a video that summarized news and articles featured that week. It was
lead by Pokejungle and Ozymandis, and they each filmed the P2 cast every other
week. For example, PJ recorded every first and third week while Ozy recorded
every second and fourth week. It was very informative and a very nice
alternative to those who were not frequent visitors. This sadly did not last
more than four episodes, as both PJ and Ozy became increasingly busy with work
and school. It was very cool while it lasted, especially because you could see
PJ and Ozy in live action instead of through a profile picture.

I will put a link below if you guys want to see one of the
P2 episodes. That has been Memory Monday! I’m Chico, and I’ll see you next Monday
    with another Memory Monday! 🙂
