The Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus Rumors

Although I’m covering this news story, it’s by popular demand. I don’t believe any of this and I highly recommend that you do not either.

The site DualPixels (which has since crashed) claimed to have gotten “information” from a leaker about Generation VII. They claim:

  • Two new games are codenamed Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus, could be final
  • The battle system is going to be re-worked completely and simplified
  • New region is based on Southeast Asia, may have islands
  • GameFreak is trying many new ideas out that they’ve been holding onto
  • “Three new starters with no names: Water evolves into Water/Steel and is a squat, teardrop shaped humanoid that has a jar filled with on its head as it evolves it grows taller and the jar bigger until it needs another set of arms to hold it on it’s head. Fire evolves into Fire/Fairy and is a tiny cute goat with fire blowing out of its horns, it’s horns and look evolves more menacing until it has curly ram like horns and a motorcycle hot-rod-like look. Grass evolves into a Grass/Electric and starts with a leap for a face with a nubby root as a body and evolves until it grows into an electric producing palm tree with each flower petal having a different face.”
  • “The main legendary for Pokemon Plus is a Shi Foo Lion-looking Psychic/Ground-type that has multiple faces, the Pokemon Minus legendary is a Ghost/Fairy type that has two dashes for eyes and is a hurricane-like appendages with many arms and hands.”
  • “The new “Team” villains are described as a bunch of “Sohei Zelots”-types who have discovered the player’s best friend as a reincarnation of a special type of person who only is alive every 100 years. They believe the old system where people were given a Pokemon egg and they stick to that Pokemon until they die and who’s function in society dictate what role that person is. They are against the “modern” trend of Pokemon Trainers and capturing multiple Pokemon and are making a holy pilgrimage to evoke the old Legendaries to turn everything back to normal. They keep the player away from their friend, saying the special one (who can do amazing things like mega evolve Pokemon without the use of a mega ring) only love is that of Pokemon and not people. It is planned to be reveal later that for the special one to fulfill their role in society they must be mortally sacrificed to awaken the legendaries.”

  6. Just to put it out there, this was an idea I had in a dream last night. What if we get these games during the 6th generation: Pokemon Fire Red 2 and Leaf Green 2. The titles will take place at the same time as X and Y, they will feature Mega Evolution of the Knato Starter’s (the box art would feature Chrizard and Venasaur’s mega’s), and the dex would be enhanced. But that’s not all. The gym’s order would either change in ways (new leader while old are in the new Elite 4) and new towns and gyms would be added in Kanto. The Sevi Islands would have a Battle Frontier, and we can go to Johto, who has it’s own new Elite 4. Both region’s would have it’s own new Elite 4, with maybe a few old returning character’s, and the Champions would be the main protagonists (Red and Gold) of the region. IDK what else, and I know Nintendo would possibly never do it, but it be nice if they did.

    So what ya guys think?

  14. So what are all the PJN weekly holidays? I know about Shiny Saturday (or Sunday, I can’t remember). Personally, I think there should be HURRN Humpday just because I like alliterations.

  20. Good old Prabha said that my package was delayed due to the wind chill in the East Coast, since it’s coming from Pennsylvania. It should arrive tomorrow, the 10th, according to him! YAY!
