The Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus Rumors

Although I’m covering this news story, it’s by popular demand. I don’t believe any of this and I highly recommend that you do not either.

The site DualPixels (which has since crashed) claimed to have gotten “information” from a leaker about Generation VII. They claim:

  • Two new games are codenamed Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus, could be final
  • The battle system is going to be re-worked completely and simplified
  • New region is based on Southeast Asia, may have islands
  • GameFreak is trying many new ideas out that they’ve been holding onto
  • “Three new starters with no names: Water evolves into Water/Steel and is a squat, teardrop shaped humanoid that has a jar filled with on its head as it evolves it grows taller and the jar bigger until it needs another set of arms to hold it on it’s head. Fire evolves into Fire/Fairy and is a tiny cute goat with fire blowing out of its horns, it’s horns and look evolves more menacing until it has curly ram like horns and a motorcycle hot-rod-like look. Grass evolves into a Grass/Electric and starts with a leap for a face with a nubby root as a body and evolves until it grows into an electric producing palm tree with each flower petal having a different face.”
  • “The main legendary for Pokemon Plus is a Shi Foo Lion-looking Psychic/Ground-type that has multiple faces, the Pokemon Minus legendary is a Ghost/Fairy type that has two dashes for eyes and is a hurricane-like appendages with many arms and hands.”
  • “The new “Team” villains are described as a bunch of “Sohei Zelots”-types who have discovered the player’s best friend as a reincarnation of a special type of person who only is alive every 100 years. They believe the old system where people were given a Pokemon egg and they stick to that Pokemon until they die and who’s function in society dictate what role that person is. They are against the “modern” trend of Pokemon Trainers and capturing multiple Pokemon and are making a holy pilgrimage to evoke the old Legendaries to turn everything back to normal. They keep the player away from their friend, saying the special one (who can do amazing things like mega evolve Pokemon without the use of a mega ring) only love is that of Pokemon and not people. It is planned to be reveal later that for the special one to fulfill their role in society they must be mortally sacrificed to awaken the legendaries.”
  • Could be for Wii U

That’s it 🙂 Discuss them as you’d like! Thanks to everyone who emailed/tweeted me about them!

  2. My Top 6 Mega Evolutions I would like to see in the future:

    1. Lapras: Ability: Refrigerate. Laprasnite
Base stats will go from 535 to 635. Stat increases are in attack and defense. Lapras has no useful physical ice attacks, but it has the great stat boosting moves like Dragon Dance/Curse. Refrigerate turns ALL Normal type moves into Ice type moves so Body Slam would become super threatening.

    2. Arbok: Ability: Simple. Arbokite

Base stats will go from 438 to 538, increase are solely in attack and speed. He’ll be able to switch in on an opponent with its Intimidate ability, then proceed to Mega Evolve into a dual Poison / Dragon evolution. You can get a different Mega Arbok depending on the pattern on its body (which if you didn’t know differs per region). This typing will make it hard to take down, as well as adding STAB to “Dragon Tail”. And Arbok happens to learn Coil, so Simple ability would double its attack & speed.

    3. Lumineon Ability: Drizzle Lumionite
Base stats will go from 460 to 560, increases are in special attack and HP/spdef, It now becomes Water / Fairy typing and sprouts a bunch of luminous fins everywhere. As a normal Lumineon you can proceed to ride the rain with swift swim or absorb with storm drain before you mega evole and summon your own rain with Drizzle. Lumineon definitely needs a boost. It’s forgotten.

    4. Heatmor Ability: Incinerate Heatmorite
Base stats go from 484 to 584, increases in both attack stats and HP. Becomes a dual
Fire / Water typing (but will serve a different role than Volcanion). GF can also add “Scald” and “Razor Shell” to its movepool for STAB. New ability “Incinerate” turns ALL normal type attacks into Fire type attacks so imagine having a Fire type Body Slam that you can paralyze with, or Return, Hyper Beam etc.

    5. Mightyena Ability: Strong Jaws Mightyenite
Base stats go from 420 to 520, increases in attack and speed stats. Stays solely Dark type. You can catch a Moxie boost with the original Mightyena, before proceeding to Mega Evolving into the one with Strong Jaws, which further boosts the power of Poison Fang, Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang.

    6. Metagross Ability: Iron Fist Metagrossite
Base stats go from 600 to 700 tying it with Mega Tyranitar and Mega Garchomp. Iron Fist will increase the power of Meteor Mash, Bullet Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, & Hammer Arm making it one hard foe to take down.

      • 7. Zygarde Ability: Dragon Aura Zygardite
Base stats go from 600 to 700 tying it with Mega Metagross/Tyranitar/Garchomp. Its new ability increases the powers up all dragon type moves in-play by 33.3%.

        8. Stunfisk Ability: Water Absorb Stunfiskite
Base Stats go from 471 to 571. Remains Electric/Ground. Gets special attack enhancement as well as a little in defense boosts. It will become the laugh in your face poke at rain teams. It’s only real threat would be ferrothorn.

          • too bad you can’t Mega Evolve more than once during battle. Cause then it would’ve made the perfect partner with:

            9. Swampert Ability: Sap Sipper Swampertite

Base Stats go from 535 to 635, enhancements in speed (greatly) and attack. Remains Water/Ground. Its ability eliminates its “Grass” weakness while also giving it a further attack boost if you time your mega evolution when charizard-Y goes for that solarbeam on your swampert. Its only weakness now will be “Freeze Dry”.

  3. going back to the page’s topic I feel the supposed plot of the rumored game to be way too dark. I dont see human sacrifice and pokemon going together.

My lead in party is Inkay. I tipped 1,000 in kiloude before I came have also been using Encounter O-Power’s lvl 3, i’m not sure if thats whats helping me or not

  4. I have now named my “Shinies” Box “OFF LIMITS” because I kept trading my shinies for Bank Legendaries. I used to have 5. Now I have 3, and I gave a few to my bro because he needs some for bragging rights.

          • Yep everytime I find a shiny golden I fly back to Kiloude… go in pokecenter… use encounter o power lvl 3… as soon as it the timer starts I talk to the guy who says the poetry and tip him 1,000… then I hurry and fly back to santalune… go to route 22 swim down the waterfall, go between the two rocks and start using my good rod. 4 shiny goldeens, worked every single time. I Just want this fricken carvanha 🙁

          • That’s where I got inspired from. I was reading into tipping last night and I really do feel it like it toggles the random number generator of the game to give you a shiny in a certain time span. Like lets say you tip 1,000, I feel like it shuffles the wild pokes to encounter a shiny sooner or something. It just has too. This is unbelievable. I never found this many shinies in 1 day lol. If its not the tipping/poetry dude, its definitely the Encounter Power or Shiny Charm

    • Klingklang could also get a Mega Evolution, since it can have Plus/Minus ability.

Manectric & Ampharos got Mega Evolution’s and they had Minus and Plus respectively.

  6. Where can I get a Fearow or Spearow in-game? I need to see a Spearow for the Kalos Mountain dex and I can’t seem to find one. Serebii says that they are encountered outside of Frost Cavern via a “Special” method. I don’t know what that is though…

    • I caught a wild Fearow in Victory Road… when your traversing through the cave and come to an outside part, theres a place where wild birds can flock down on you if you step under there shadow and Fearow was one of them for me.

  7. I want this:
    Mega Metagross.
Ability: Force Field – Instantly sets up light screen and reflect when sent into battle. Stats: 80/170/150/100/120/80.
Gets a recovery move and proceeds to be the biggest pain ever to take down, while hitting stupidly hard.

    MegaMetagross for Ubers!!!
