Digitally Remastered ‘Pokémon: The First Movie’ to Air

The very first Pokémon is set to air in North America on Cartoon Network on January 4th at 8:30 am (confirm with your local listings). The movie has been digitally remastered and should be a real treat for older fans of the series who may have seen the movie when they were younger.

Movie Synopsis

Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, had ambitious plans to take over the world, involving his latest experiment, a powerful clone of Mew—Mewtwo. Mewtwo is very powerful, and also very smart—smart enough to not want to be controlled by Giovanni. It escaped from the lab, and now Mewtwo begins to concoct its own scheme, clandestinely inviting a number of Pokémon Trainers to the ultimate test. Of course, if it’s an event for talented Trainers, Ash Ketchum will be right in the front row!

Ash’s excitement turns to fear and anger when Mewtwo reveals its plan for domination, creating powerful clones of all of the kids’ Pokémon so it can even the “imbalance” between Pokémon and their Trainers. Despite Ash’s protests, Mewtwo refuses to believe that Pokémon and people can be friends. But faced with the determination of a young Trainer and the love of his Pokémon, Mewtwo just might have to reconsider, especially when pitted against the power of the mysterious Mew! — Official Site

    Neutralize: Neutralizes all item effects and Pokemon abilities.
    Rock Power-up: If the difference between Dianci’s speed and it’s foe is over 50+, Dianci will go first. Dianci’s atk will also deal double the damage.

    Hoopa, Psychic/Ghost
    Dimension Switch: When the Foe’s Pokemon switches out, Dimension Switch will then switch the Foe’s already switched out Pokemon and switch it to a random Pokemon on your foe’s team.

    Volcanion, Fire/Water
    Eruption: Volcanion’s Fire attacks are boosted by 50%
    Steam Rupture: When Volcanion faints, if the opposing Pokemon that KO’ed Volcanion is neither Water or Fire type it instantly faints.

    • I really love Dimension Switch & Neutralize!!!

      I invented one for Diancie/Starmie some time ago. Jagged Jewel. Increases the power of gem like moves. “Power Gem”, “Icicle Shard”, “Dazzling Gleam”, “Flash Cannon”…

    • Diancie’s first ability will make the game feel like Gen 1. The second ability would be cool, but maybe it should work as a switch in ability and a shell smash ( instead of a defense drop but boost attack, sp.attack & speed by 1.5x).

      Hoppa’s ability is awesome honestly and could wreck a lot of teams if you give it Eject Button and have hazards like Spikes and Stealth rocks in place.

      Volcanion first abiliy is good, but I think its name should be changed to something like Fire Veil or maybe give it Adaptability. Steam Rupture honestly sounds too broke.

    • Valcanion should have
      Generate: Gives a +1 Special Attack boost when it KOs a Pokemon.

      It is a Special counterpart to Moxie, so it is more realistic and would make Volcanion pretty beast

  6. Maybe if everyone deleted their TCG programs and stopped logging on… stopped checking their old dreamworld stuff… and stay off anything server related for a little maybe Bank would come faster lol.

    • You can do Super Training, Secret One. The one with the Gallade might give you one. I got it in after three times of doing it.

  22. @Earthen if we want them elite 4 to be a real challenge lets make it so once you battle the elite 4 you can’t change your team until you beat the champion
