Well, there’s a new eeveelution to look forward to in Gen VIII. And with dragon being the only special type not to get an eeveelution (I count Fairy as a special type), I see a dragon type eeveelution becoming a reality.
Especially now that they have the fairy type- a Dragon Eeveelution before fairy would have been uber compred to the other eeveelutions which is why they probably never made one- i think they should have made it to go along with Sylveon but maybe they are testing the waters first with Fairy type to see how well it balances dragon out- especially since the Eeveelutions are among everyone’s favourites- they obviously didn’t want to mess them up 🙂
Fairy would definitely have been a special type, and have made it 9 special types and 9 physical types.
The day we see one I want it to be the physical variant of Jolteon. I want it to have same speed, but place its special attack into its attack.

I would say no. Sure, they are LESS RARE. That doesn’t mean they are more common. 1/4096 is still a hell of a chance. They are earned through patience, dedication and hard work. So their purpose remains.

That’s good to hear. I’ve actually been questioning it because after encountering my first shiny in Y, I became less excited about them after the second…then third…fourth…fifth…*falls asleep*. Personally, I think the subject is debatable, but they’re still fun to have regardless.

Brave Bird? Why Brave Bird? Sucker Punch is so common, more common than anything else. But luckily priority makes sucker punch fail, so Shadow sneak, aqua jet, water shuriken and mach punch make it useless

Yeah, glad to help. I’m used to hyper offense in gen 6, so stall is pretty foreign to me. Brave bird is only priority when your fighting the fletchling line. Besides that, ferro walls t. flame. Iron barbs+ rocky helmet makes people think twice about flare blitzing you, because recoil+iron barbs+rocky helmet takes away a clean 40-55% of their Hp
I actually use rocky helmet on Arcanine to lure Talonflames into Brave Birding me ;D
Really? I use leftovers when i used bulky arcanine. Leftovers, impish, will-o-miss, morning sun, extreme speed, and either protect or wild charge
I wish I had more leftovers, but I had to use them for other pokes.
battle maison is good for bp obtaining, and i hear that you get 15 bp four every 4 wins at the battle institute..
But sadly the only way to obtain more leftovers is pick up or the trash cans, but you have to be lucky.

Yup…Nidoking is a huge problem for my team! I had to sacrifice Tyranitar to make sure Gliscor is still ready. Yeah I’m glad I faced you before, because I realized I had a HUGE M. Khan problem with my team. I needed a ghost type! So I went for Aegislash. But you team is soooo balanced and soo good! I’m surprised that you said before that you never had battled competitively before! :O You are really really good! XD

D: I have a bad habit of not observing my opponent’s team so i definitely did not see that aegislash coming! if only i didnt mega evolve so soon XD then when you switched to gliscor, i was confused if you were gonna switch into aegislash and gliscor over and over so i was scared to risk using powerup punch on the aegi again and then that just screwed me over after the toxic LOL;

I could see that, so I never took the risk to switch out. With a few more battles, I wouldn’t be surprised if you become fluent in competitive battles! XD

I did max Hp and Max sp.def. I gave it Power up Punch, Iron head, toxic and stealth rocks came as an egg move. unfortunately, non damaging moves can’t be used with assault vest, the item i intended for this set. sp.def is a must, as it’s special defense is terrible, and not the best as a mega. sure filter helps, but even with filter it can be 2HKO’d by some SE moves, and the fact that expert belt adds an extra 20% to the damage really doesn’t help. so sp.def investment is a must for me
Don’t put max defense. I would do 200 Attack, 200 Defense, 108 HP, or something similar. If you go defensive I would invest 200 Hp and Defense and 108 in attack or offensive and do 200 HP and Attack and 108 Defense.
Masuda method HATES me

For everyone who Masuda Method’s here is a tip to help you:
For every 5 eggs you hatch only put one in the PC release the four others, it saves so much more room, and it is easy to count 🙂
Why don’t we release all of them?
If you want to keep track of how many you have hatched. Each Pokemon represents 5 hatches.
Or, the way i’m doing it, have 6 boxes free so that’s 180 Pokemon and a box for the Pokemon you are intending to breed for shinies. 180 Pokemon is around a 1/4 chance of a shiny and doing 180 tells you when you’ve done it enough and you should try another Pokemon for the time being. I got shiny Zorua, shiny Mawile and shiny Venipede doing this.
I use 9 – 10 boxes. If you fill boxes with 270-300 eggs and mass hatch for a couple hours, you get results. I have hatched 3 Torrent Froakies and 2 Protean ones this way. One set of 300 I got 2 shinies in the batch, and out of the 3 times doing this I never didnt get a shiny with at least 9 boxes of eggs.

Yep. I’m thinking about putting curse, earthquake, recover and Avalanche on mine. I just can’t decide if I should use gyro ball though.
Gyro ball beats fairies, but steel fairies, like klefki and mawile, are the most common, so i’d go for eq. i normally ev train sweepers, and hope that they at least take out one pokemon each
Hm… Try for Simisage. It’s a great sweeper with a life orb.
I use Gunk Shot on my Simisage, so I’ll have to wait for bank for that. And I use Gluttony plus Liechi Berry,. but i could try overgrow Life orb. What about Barbaracle? What do you think of him?
I like it! Good defense and useable attack. But it’s very slow and has some common weaknesses.
Yeah, but Shell Smash fixes that if you can get it off. But do you recommend Poison Jab for fairies, or D Claw for dragons? Or would a +2 Tough Claws Razor Shell, or a +2 Stone Edge do the trick anyway?
Poison jab completely. Also allows you to counter grass types. (If you survive)

So I was in Route 3 EV Training my Honedge in HP by beating up Azurill (yes, I know I can Super Train him in HP, which I am, but I wanted to level him up to Lv. 5) and kept thinking to myself, “Azurill is rare, and I’m going to run into many Pokémon I don’t want to encounter. Watch me find a shiny.” I found a shiny…Bunnelby. *sigh* Looks like someone’s going in my Shiny Box.

No they were just never released. They were found by hacking B/W and were supposed to be found via dreamworld. Litwiks HA was replaced with infiltrator in X/Y and snivy is not yet obtainable until pokebank comes out.

Well, it’s going to be my Physical wall. I was thinking of doing that so I can force switches on any Pokemon, whether they be a threat or bulked up with stats. He also will have attack moves, but I thought it would be a good idea to have Yawn as a surprise
Yeah, I think having 3 attack moves and 1 status move would help your set. Putting opponents to sleep and/or forcing a switch could make battles more interesting.

Here’s a tip: Marriland said that he tipped 10,000 at Le Wow and he started hatching for Wonder Trade Wednesday. The first egg he hatched was a shiny Pokemon. I did that too and 15 eggs later, shiny Fletchling :O
You can tip 10,000???
You have to perfectly defeat every battle in the specified turns. If the meal is ready in 4 turns and your opponent has one Pokemon left, stall until the third turn and then KO the Pokemon. Beware of Protect users because they will ruin your perfect streak! Once you beat Doubles, Triples, and Rotation battles perfectly, a star should show up next to their name. Then you can tip 10,000. I prefer Le Wow. It’s only at the restaurants.

I need a tip for shiny masuda method, how do you do it?
use a japanese ditto (or a language thats foreign to your game) and the other parent make sure its the native language of your game.
Then get to hatching.
it helps if you have key item Oval Charm to help speed up egg process.
I have no japanese ditto, but i used Japanese Gastly and German Gastly, do you think it might work the same way?
Yep. I have an english game and got one of my shiny noibats from breeding a german noibat with jap ditto. But the odds will still probably be the same as 1 jap poke with 1 english, i dont think they both have to be different.

I guess its all random, but I’m positive there are things the random generator takes into account, like tipping, trainer ID, etc. I managed to hatch around 7 with MM so far since XY released and have so many more eggs I have to hatch cause of it lol.

What I would love to see in RSE remakes/sequels
– Trick House returns with more new tricks
– Dive HM returns to show off 3D graphics
– Mirage Island with a rate of 1/50 chance of popping up every 24 hours
– Shiny Wynaut easily found on Mirage Island
– *Imagines Sky Pillar & Abandoned Ship in XY graphics*
– Instead of Friend Safari’s, if the people stored in your 3DS beat the elite 4 their Secret Bases will pop up in your game. If you delete them their SB deletes as well.
– Steven Stone study mega stones (gives you Metagrossite if you beat him)
– Dewford Town renamed Dewford Island
– Latios/Latias roaming/scene on Television
– 8th gym leader Wallace for Ruby, Juan for Sapphire
– Two New Protagonists, Brendan & May are now in-game friends (similar to Shauna role).
– Trainer Customization and Amie returns with more features. Incorporates Contest stats somehow.
– Since Brendan is from Johto, gives you a Johto starter after you defeat first gym leader in Rustboro before you sail away with Mr. Briney.
– Able to evolve Roselia/Dusclops without needing to get National Dex.

I have always been using an Aegislash on my team, and it’s high Attack has only served me well.
I haven’t had much trouble with Aegislash and Greninja……Talonflame on the other hand is a completely different story

Ability Capsule: it let s you change between your two abilities.
My question is how does the game data compensate for this? Does it change your Pokemon s personality value? And if it does, could it not also (theoretically) change whether your Pokemon is shiny or not?

No it changes your ability which is stored in a completely different place as the shiny value
Imagine it like a grid in one square it says if it is shiny or not, and on the opposite side of the grid in a square it says the ability, the ability capsules changes the data in only one square not affecting anything else
no. not true. both ability and shininess are based off the PID. ability is based on whether or not the Pokemon s 32 bit PID is even or odd. simple enough. shininess is based off of the first half and the second half of the PID, as well as your trainer ID and secret ID. you XOR all four and if the resulting bit value is <16 (<8 prior to Gen 6), the Pokemon is shiny. so if you change the second half of the PID, you could change the resulting bit to <16 when it originally was not.
also (theoretically) a shiny could become a nonshiny.
They probably changed how you find shinies….

Its the same concept, don’t try and use jargon to prove your point, and the real question is that would someone actually be stupid enough to think that gamefreak would let something as big as pokemon changing colors be allowed in the final version, I mean seriously use your brain if gamefreak was worried about it changing a pokemon to a shiny the first thing they would do is test it, seriously use your brain :
Anyway when the PID is put into binary the part that determines shinyness is not the same part as the part that determines nature so it would not even be something to worry about, the last digit of the it in binary determines the nature

Graphics are good, but I’m a big LOZ person, so it didn’t really hit a note for me. And another thing, for an elf, regardless of what the game itself calls it, doesn’t link seem a bit short?
It’s mainly graphics. Nintendo fans will always buy zelda, but non nintendo fans want graphics. The closest to realistic graphics we got was Twilight Princess. This E3 trailer was before Wii U was released, so people were super hyped for it. I love Zelda regardless of graphics, but this really blew me away!
I’m not a video game person very much, unless it’s racing or fighting games, or POkemon, but i will admit, regardless of my lack of interest in LOZ, that trailer was very wel done, and if i had a wii u, i would likely buy it, if not for myself, for my brother so i can watch him play it

We use two Pokemon, a Metronomer, and a Pokemon to switch to in case of Perish Song. Preferably with Aromatherapy. I use two Metronomers though. And hold a Leppa Berry.

My 3DS actually fell yesterday. It was charging and it slipped off my bed and fell face foward while I was playing. Thank Arceus I traded with MewMew to show her Hot Wings or else I would have lost hours of gameplay! Phew. Another good thing was that the batch I had hatched didn’t have a perfect Pokemon. When I restarted (cartridge fell out) I had to collect 5 more eggs and re hatch them. I found the perfect one in that batch 😀 T
The downside is that the case on my 3DS cracked. The little place where you put the wrist strap (right side) is covered by the case but it cracked so now there’s a crack that doesn’t unite the corner together.

Huh! Does that mean you need to get a new case? =/ That sucks, and once again I can relate lol. When I was breeding for the Riolus, I fell asleep with my game on after breeding for a long time and not finding any perfect ones. Woke up, the game was still on my chest (THANKFULLY it didn’t fall off the bed), but it was dead, and I lost hours of searching. BUT, I started searching again, and I found perfect Riolus very shortly into searching, so it all paid off in the end 🙂

I have that same issue. Apparently Prankster doesn’t activate on the turn you mega evolve, so I usually use Protect to safely Mega evolve and then take advantage of Prankster next turn

Since Gible can learn it through breeding, I would assume you could use Iron Head Gible to breed onto Bagon

For a Salamence? I would recommend Jolly. It’s attack is already good enough that you don’t need Adamant

I’m sure you can help as well! I’m having trouble deciding where to put the rest of my EVs for my Torkoal. It’s already maxed Def. I was going to mix the rest into Atk and SpAtk, since it has 2 physical attacks and 1 special. I’m not sure if putting the one into SpAtk will be worth it because my Torkoal gets STAB from the special attack, whereas it does not get STAB from the physical attacks.
Basically, should I stick with mixed EVs in both? Or put them all into Attack to make up for no STAB?
I recommend going 2xx for Atk and 40 for the SpA

I would suggest EV training it in Attack and Speed, and then giving a move pool of your choice. Most common one i have seen is something like Power-up-punch, Earthqauke, Return and Sucker Punch.
I would get fake out on it, for a safe mega evo

So I have a perfect Deino in the daycare with a female Pokemon that has 4 IVs. I just found a male that has all of the missing IVs of the female. Should I replace the Deino?
Do Deino and the female Pokemon get along? If so, there’s no need to replace Deino since it’s perfect. Unless you need Attack.
They do but I have seen a lack of HP perfect IVs. :/
HP always seems to be the rarest to pass down if only 1 parent has it. But if the Deino is perfect for the Pokemon, really no need to switch it 🙂

In the meantime you you could masuda a shiny zoroark. It’s shiny looks amazing and its purple to.

Oh forgot about that. You could chain for a shiny but the pokeradar is extremely frustrating.

Nice! After I got my two shiny Froakies I’ve had no luck whilst masuda methoding.
I found my Spritzee around the forty-sixth egg.
I went through 1000 Eevee eggs and gave up.
Oh wow. Usually I give up around the fiftieth egg, but I had nothing better to do so…
I only did it for Umbreon I would never go that far for anything else.
I have maybe 10 more Spritzee eggs. I would love a shiny Eevee for the possibility of different shinies.
Umbreon, Sylveon, leafeon and vaporeon are the only ones I would consider for a shiny the rest don’t look that good.

How viable is Nidoking this gen?
Sheer Force + Life orb + Fairy types +Huge move pool = Viable
Lol, so do you recommend physical, special or mixed?
Mixed helps keep things unpredictable seeing as it can learn quite a few special attacks for coverage
So taking advantage sheer force, does:
Sludge bomb
Earth power
Rock slide
Thunderbolt
Sound alright?
That practically covers everything.

You might want to swap out rock slide for fire blast though it would make you a full on special attacker.

But yeah… Full on Special is good but there’s things like Goodra now blocking Nidoking’s Special sweep…
Then I would go with Earthquake instead of earth power.
Earth Power can be really handy though… It reaches 110 BP simply through Sheer Force…

Though you get 10 more base power you still get STAB from earthquake so you don’t get walled by special tanks.

Which ever way you look at it, your going to have to sacrifice something for the benefit of something else.

Either defense or offensive spinner imo. Mine has a few attack evs, quite a few defense evs, and a lot into sp.defense for wash rotom. Or you could go for full attack full speed with rapid spin, earthquake, rock slide and shadow claw swords dance
