Pokémon Smash! — August 25, FINISHED! [UPD]

Pokémon Smash!

Pokémon Smash will be airing soon in Japan. This week we’re not expecting a huge amount of information, despite the episode being a WCS and Mega Evolutions special. As such, this episode will not be covered live. Instead we will provide an episode write-up after the episode has finished airing.

Our stream can be found below, as well as the PokéJungle Chat. Please remember to Like us on Facebook and Follow us on Twitter, and for even more Pokémon related goodness don’t forget about our very own forums too!

Please note: if you can hear a constant popping/clicking noise, please open the Chat spoiler and click the small speaker in the bottom left.

Episode Write-Up

  • The episode begun with it’s usual anime episode re-airing
  • Smash crew ran a section focusing on the WCS in Vancouver. Some of the crew got to visit the championships and talk to some of the fans attending, and even challenge them!
  • Next the hosts moved on to an X & Y section, including a game which required them to guess what was in a selection of boxes, without being able to see what they were feeling
  • As expected Mega Evolutions were shown, with a little new footage showcased feature Mega Ampharos
  • Back to the WCS, this time with a focus on the video game champion contenders
  • A quick look at Sylveon (they even talk about the Pokémon in English!)
  • The credits run with footage from the Pokémon Game Show running, featuring hosts taking part in various battles using X & Y

The preview for next weeks episode didn’t preview anything of interest, as such we will only provide a stream again next week.

  1. I’m hoping we get some information about MegaKangaskhan. I highly doubt we will see Oorotto- I think they’re saving it for us “discover” on our own. :/

    • I like Victini’s color scheme…
Except I find it creepy that before it was released I drew a picture of a pokemon that literally looked EXACTLY like Victini but was like double the height…(I no longer have the picture though…which sucks)

    • people blew that out of proportion sooo much… it used one unknown punch move and everyone goes crazy.

didn’t we already see it use psychic at that point? and nobody seemed to care about that, but one punch and BOOM, it must be fire/fighting…

Thats not how pokemon works, its just as likely, if not more likely to be fire/psychic :3

    • 100% sure they’re trolling us. They know how much we dont want fire fighting again so they show us that quick clip of fennekin “punching” something so we all freak out, and then be all surprised when we find out it isnt fire fighting

  2. Okay, so I’m going to make a list of what I believe will be revealed in this episode:

So what do you guys think? Am I being too optimistic?

      • true, but i like the new pokes to be a surprise. But the anticipation for mega evolutions is killing me cause we literally have no idea how many or what types of pokes will be getting them or how drastic the changes will be.
