What is “Pokémon Tretta”?

Thanks to Pokémon blog AAPF, we learned that Nintendo has filed a new trademark for “Pokémon Tretta”. AAPF also mentioned that this is likely for toys or merchandise in Japan, although an English logo is also provided.

Merchandise? Game? What do you guys think?! I’d like to see an actual logo instead of this mock-up for sure. Seems so messy.

  1. I looks like some card of card game (although they already have that) or some sort of book cover…?

I agree with you… it does look messy-looks like the Pokemon logo finesse has been replaced with a 10 year old’s drawing…

  2. Id say its a new board game or new set of cards. If it does turn out to be a video game id say iit would be about the card game like the one for the gbc 🙂

  3. Is that logo really used in the application?
I just think this is going to be something really dumb, something you never thought they would do.

  4. I get the feeling this thing is going to be a “Japan-only” thing, I just have that feeling…

Also, you’re all right, that logo is pretty much eye cancer, and it looks like it was made on MS Paint by a 10 year old, but saved it as a .jpg rather than a .png, yeah, I REALLY hope it isn’t the final logo, no offense

  5. It’s an IC chip embedded in the plastic token. The tokens are called “tretta”. It is similar to the original game. You get a tretta for 100 yen from the actual machine. If anyone remembers Pokemon Battrio, it’s the same concept: 3 vs 3 Pokemon battles, just with the new Pokemon included as well.
