  1. Well it could be true because of the plant aloe vera but only time will tell 😉 cant wait for the other names of the gyms and towns since the pokemon names have been confirmed!!!!!

  2. Do not want. There’s an annoying, well was annoying, person that has that name minus one V that I know and I don’t want to be reminded of that person everytime I encounter the awesomeness that is Aloe. It should stay Aloe. Don’t try and be different Nintendo America, you already kept half the Dex’s names anyway.

  3. I love the idea they had for “Aloe Verra”

One thing though…is it pronounced like the name Vera or like “Verr-a”?

I want to think of it as sounding like Vera really…

  4. I doubt this name. Serebii has said that as far as he can tell, none of the other gym leaders have names relating to plants. Even he isn’t dumb enough to miss that pun there, whether they intended it or not.
I assume it would be pronounced ‘veh-rah’.

  5. :/ Verra? Meh. I’d rather have her keep her original name since it doesn’t sound too Asian. If not, I’d like her to be either Norma (reference to her type speciality, Normal) or Regina (same, but from regular).

  6. Actually this is a double pun, the “Aloe Vera” thing, and the fact that Verra is similar to “average” referencing her normal types

  7. A bit of topic but that would be perfect if swanna’s shiny would be all black, referring to black swan metaphor and black&white game.

  8. One leter makes a huge difference… “Verra” doesn’t look very good, but Vera kinda does. It would be a reference to both the Japanese name and “average”, because she trains Normal-types… yeah, makes sense…

But it would be a plant name, and Serebii told that no one besides the Striaton trio got plant references, right? They only got food names because, well… they’re waiters…

    • Wasn’t Iris keeping her name confirmed? If so, then I believe she wasn’t name for the iris that’s located in the eye… 😛

      • Oh right, I forgot her. But Serebii said that the leaders and elite members whose English names weren’t released up until now did not have relation to plants…

  9. You people keep asking for Fuuro’s name!!! Why? Can’t you tell by the romanization of ‘Fuuro’ is ‘Flo’? Well that’s my guess… Flo.

And as for Aloe, I’m hoping it stays the same, because I wanted Kamitsure to be Carmen (Electra)

  10. Just had a look at some topic on Nintendolife forums where someone who seems to possess an English copy of Black Version is answering questions. Including the English name of the second Gym Leader.

    Aloe’s name is Lenora.
