3DS deets

The Nintendo 3DS has just been given a launch date: Feb 28, 2011 in Japan and March for EU and US.  Some quick notes that were also announced:

  • Mii plaza built in (can take photo of yourself and make a Mii with it)
  • “AR Games” (augmented reality) built in to make use of the camera
  • 2GB SD card included
  • MSRP: ¥25,000 or around $300 USD (most likely have a $250-$275 US launch price)
  • GB/GBA “Virtual Console” (yay!)

S’all for now.  I’ll update if more news comes out

  3. Yay! Finally old GB/GBA games. I won’t have to rely on Lameboy. ^^

Ouch at the $300 price tag, I suppose it makes sense, though. It seems like they’re setting this up to (finally) rival the PSP.

The release dates are interesting. Releasing only a month after Japan makes me think maybe they’re trying for a closer schedule with other countries? It’d be nice. Kinda like GS:DD.

    • There are lots more, like an orange one, a purple one, IIRC a pink one, but apparently at launch only black and blue are available. :<

  5. GBA slot came back, or did I misread that?

$300 = NO. NO. NO. PLEASE be around 200 dollars! The Victini Funds (my money, no duh) cannot handle the pressure! And I don’t want to do no babysitting! >.< This is like the Wii all over again…

  6. I’m really hoping that it is released in the US for $250. That way, we MIGHT be able to get it in the Australia for $300. (Though I probably wouldn’t be surprised if it was $320-$350 here -__-)
