Gameplay in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
As part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, you are tasked with completing the Hisui region’s first Pokédex. This involves venturing into the untamed areas and catching Pokémon or completing research tasks.
While adventuring, you’ll have to watch out for aggressive wild Pokémon that can attack you and lower your health. Falling in the environment can also deplete your stamina. The Base Camps can be used to help during missions, as well as provide a crafting bench.
Crafting in this game allows you to create more Poké Balls, Smoke Bombs and other helpful items that will assist you in expeditions.
Battle mechanics in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Unlike the turn-based battles many fans are used to in the main series, Pokémon Legends: Arceus features a new spin on the system which can even allow Pokémon to make moves multiple times in a row.
Moves can be unleashed in two different styles: Strong Style and Agile Style.
Strong Style
Using a move in the Strong Style will allow you to raise the power of the attack, but lowers your action speed.
Agile Style
Using a move in the Agile Style will raise your action speed, but ultimately lower the attack’s power.
Balancing these move styles will be key to winning in battles and trainers must consider whether speed or power will benefit them more.
