The Vivillon Challenge and a new Mystery Gift come to Pokémon Legends: Z-A

A new event has started in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Vivillon Challenge, and offers the chance to get a rare Poké Ball pattern Vivillon if players can work together to complete it! There’s also a special Spewpa Mystery Gift that can be claimed today.

The Vivillon Challenge

The Vivillon Challenge requires players to work together in Pokémon Legends: Z-A to evolve 660,000 Spewpa into Vivillon. Since Scatterbug and Spewpa are common in Lumiose City and Spewpa evolves at level 12, it shouldn’t be too hard to complete. The challenge also has no end date listed.

As mentioned earlier, if players collectively reach the 660,000 Vivillon goal, a Poké Ball pattern Vivillon Mystery Gift will be distributed in Legends: Z-A! Progress towards the goal is updated hourly on the official challenge website.

Where to find Scatterbug and Spewpa

If you are eager to participate in the Spewpa-evolving challenge, you can find Vivillon’s earlier evolution stages in the listed Lumiose City areas:

• Scatterbug: Wild Zone 1, Bleu District, Jaune District, Magenta District, Rouge District and Vert District
• Spewpa: Wild Zone 4, Bleu District, Jaune District, Magenta District, Rouge District and Vert District

The Wild Zones may be the easiest to use since Pokémon are concentrated in a small location.

How to receive the Spewpa Mystery Gift

Until November 18, 2026, at 7:59 p.m. CST, players can receive a special Spewpa via Mystery Gift in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. What makes it so special? This Spewpa will evolve into a Vivillon with one of 16 patterns that is not normally found in the game! Unfortunately, which pattern your Vivillon has is completely random.

How to receive the Spewpa:

1. Open ‘Link Play’ from the main menu.
2. Choose ‘Mystery Gift’ option and then ‘Get Via Internet’

This Spewpa will have the following attributes when received:

Don’t forget to claim it before the distribution ends!
