The “hangry” Two-Sided Pokémon Morpeko has joined Pokémon UNITE as its latest playable character! It joins the game as a melee Speedster character that is highly mobile and can burst down fragile opponents.
Morpeko’s gameplay is heavily centered around its passive, Hunger Switch. While it is in ‘Full Belly Mode’ its fullness gauge will gradually deplete over time or when moves are used and when that fully empties it will enter ‘Hangry Mode’ which fears nearby opponents when it transforms and gains some movement speed. Its fullness gauge will then gradually replenish as Morpeko consumes seeds stored in its cheek pouches. When it transforms back to Full Belly Mode it will restore some HP.
Because its basic move cooldowns are reset when it changes forms, this can be used strategically to unleash a lot of damage on foes and also provide some crowd control or HP recovery depending on what form it switches to.
Players can currently take part in an event to earn Morpeko’s Unite License for free for a limited time, so don’t miss out if you want to add this Pokémon to your roster more quickly than getting it through the License Journey mechanic.
