Mewtwo will be making its debut in Pokémon Sleep and Mew will be especially helpful its upcoming event. To make sure all players are prepared, Mini Snapshot Surprise Missions will be coming in which you can befriend Mew and also encounter a variety of Psychic-type Pokémon that will also aid you during Mewtwo’s event.
Mini Snapshot Surprise Missions details
From Monday, August 31, at 4:00 a.m. local time until Monday, September 7, at 3:59 a.m., Mew may make surprise appearances in Pokémon’s sleep style photos. Players can complete Mini Snapshot Surprise missions for various rewards and also befriend Mew during the event. If you’ve already befriended Mew, you’ll receive a Eureka Seed (Mew).
The event will be active in all areas and will boost the appearance rates of Mr. Mime, Natu, Xatu, Espeon, Wobbuffet, Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Wynaut, Mime Jr., Munna and Musharna in the areas that they appear. You can find their specific locations in the official blog post.
In addition, the following bonuses will be in effect:
- You will be able to take Snapshot Surprise photos only during the first sleep research of the day.
- Candies gained through Snapshot Surprise ×1.25 the usual amount.
- Research EXP gained through Snapshot Surprise ×1.25 times the usual amount.
- Dream Shards gained through Snapshot Surprise +1,000 to the usual amount.
- During the first sleep research of the day, one Pokémon will for sure arrive hungry
- Certain Pokémon will be more likely to appear during sleep research.
- The limited-time Mini Candy Boost feature will be available.
- A few Pokémon of different sleep types will appear during sleep research regardless of your sleep type for that day.
Unexplored Realm Research! Pursue Mewtwo preview
The Unexplored Realm Research! Pursue Mewtwo event will be taking place in Pokémon Sleep in mid-September. Players will be researching in Greengrass Isle, where Mewtwo has been discovered and collectively accumulate Drowsy Power.
During the event, players can obtain samples of Mewtwo DNA and exchange them for rewards, including Mewtwo Incense.
Psychic-type Pokémon will be most effective when conducting sleep research during the event, so check your storage for any Mr. Mime, Mew, Natu, Xatu, Espeon, Wobbuffet, Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Wynaut, Mime Jr., Cresselia, Munna and Musharna that you may want to use and start training them!
