Free update for Pokémon Pokopia announced, along with Expansion Pass

A free update for Pokémon Pokopia and an Expansion Pass DLC were announced earlier today in the Nintendo Direct presentation! The update and first part of the Expansion Pass will take players underwater to explore and build.

Pokémon Pokopia’s free underwater update

A free update for Pokémon Pokopia will be released in August that allows players to learn the move Dive to explore underwater, where you can build just like you do on land!

To learn Dive, you’ll need to raise the environment level of the Bleak Beach area.

Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass

An Expansion Pass series of DLC costing $34.99 has been announced for Pokémon Pokopia, with the first part arriving in August. That will add the Bubbly Basin area, where you can meet new Pokémon, get new recipes for crafting and find additional outfits.

Two more parts have been promised, with Part 2 coming in late 2026 and bringing new features and Part 3 coming in 2027 with a new area to explore.

Some sea-themed items were shown in the trailer, along with an outfit based on Brendan’s from Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire.

New Pokémon previewed included Popplio, Mudkip and Corphish!

Players can receive a Dynamic Ditto print recipe for buying the Expansion Pass and 30 Rare Pokémetal via serial code.
