Nanao City in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, has renovated part of its Yuttari Park to become the Wakura Pokémon Footbath — a free spot where people can dip their feet in an ashiyu, or foot onsen.

The work was done in collaboration with the Pokémon With You Foundation and will hopefully bring in new tourism following the 2024 Noto earthquake, a tragedy that impacted the Noto Peninsula which Nanao city is part of.

The footbath features the Pokémon of Nanao City’s Poké Lid, Gyarados, Poliwag and Politoed; as well as other Pokémon such as Pikachu, Vaporeon, Quaxly and Psyduck. If you stop by the Wakura Pokémon Footbath, you’ll be able to see the Poké Lid right outside.

Poké Lids are artistic Pokémon covers for utility holes that can be found throughout Japan and are part of the Pokémon Local Acts program that promotes various localities throughout the country.

The Wakura Pokémon Footbath will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with no admission charge.
Let us know if you’re putting this on your list of must-see travel destinations! I have never visited the Noto Peninsula and would love to travel out to this cool location in the future.
