This year we’re celebrating a Year of the Horse and Pokémon GO will be celebrating with its Lunar New Year event, bringing players an increased chance of encountering Shiny Blitzle, Darumaka and Gimmighoul! It will take place from Tuesday, February 17, at 10:00 a.m. until Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
During the event, players can take advantage of the following bonuses and activities:
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Blitzle, Shiny Darumaka, and Shiny Gimmighoul
- Increased chance to get Lucky Pokémon in trades
- Increased chance to become Lucky Friends
- PokéStops may turn gold without a Golden Lure Module
- Event-themed Field Research tasks
- Event-themed Collection Challenge
