Pokémon GO has revealed new costumed Pokémon coming in Part 2 of its Halloween event, announced a Gigantamax Garbodor Max Battle Day and also shared details about a new social weekly challenge feature coming to the game!
Tackle Weekly Challenges with friends
Starting on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. PDT, up to four players can band together to complete a weekly challenge and earn rewards. You can join a group from a new Social tab of your Trainer profile. You’ll only be able to join one group at a time and complete only one Weekly Challenge each week.
If you’re not yet friends with one or two of the group members, you’ll have the opportunity to add them to your Friends List.
Spooky new costumes for Halloween
The second part of Pokémon GO‘s Halloween celebrations will run from Monday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. It introduces Costumed Teddiursa and Noibat which are both able to be evolved. In addition to the bonuses earned through the GO Pass: Halloween 2025, the following will be active during the specified time:
- Throughout Halloween 2025 Part II: Increased chance to encounter Shiny costumed Pokémon in raids and a higher chance of encountering Shiny Teddiursa and Shiny Noibat in the wild. Themed Field Research will also be available from Poké Stops.
- On Halloween, October 31: Costumed Pokémon will have a small chance to give Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL when caught with Nice Throws or better.
Pokémon Raids
During Part II of the Halloween event, the following Raids will be active:
One-Star Raids
- Pikachu wearing a Halloween Mischief costume*
- Piplup wearing a Halloween Mischief costume*
- Sinistea*
- Poltchageist
Three-Star Raids
- Gengar wearing a Tricks & Treats costume*
- Drifblim wearing a Halloween Mischief costume*
One-Star Shadow Raids
- Shadow Yamask
- Shadow Phantump
*This Pokémon has a chance of being Shiny when encountered
Gigantamax Garbodor Max Battle Day
Players can take part in Gigantamax Garbodor Max Battle Day on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. It will be the official debut of Gigantamax Garbodor in GO and the following bonuses will be in effect:
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600.
- All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles.
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently.
- 8× Max Particles from Power Spots.
- Two additional Special Trades.
- From October 31 at 5:00 p.m. to November 1 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20.
Free Timed Research will be available to complete and rewards an encounter with a Dynamax Pokémon.
