October is shaping up to be a big month in Pokémon GO — the highly anticipated Mega Metagross will be making its debut in the game and additional events have also been revealed as well.
Steel Skyline event details
The Steel Skyline event will take place in Pokémon GO from Tuesday, September 30, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time and will introduce the Pokémon Duraludon in Four-Star Max Battles! There will also be event-themed Field Research tasks and free Timed Research for players to take advantage of.
There will also be global challenges for players to take on with rewards for achieving the goals:
Level 1 Reward
- Additional Candy for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
- Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
Level 2 Rewards
- Additional 5,000 XP from winning raids
Level 3 Rewards
- One guaranteed Rare Candy XL from winning in-person Max Battles
Wild Pokémon spawns
During the Steel Skyline event, the following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild:
- Alolan Diglett*
- Magnemite*
- Grimer*
- Alolan Grimer*
- Porygon*
- Aron*
- Bronzor*
- Trubbish*
- Klink*
- Axew*
- Togedemaru*
- Galarian Meowth* (Rare)
- Skarmory* (Rare)
- Mawile* (Rare)
Max Battles
The Steel Skyline event will feature the following Pokémon in Max Battles:
One-Star Max Battles
- Dynamax Drilbur*
- Dynamax Rookidee*
Three-Star Max Battles
- Dynamax Beldum*
Four-Star Max Battles
- Dynamax Duraludon*
*An asterisk denotes that this Pokémon has the possibility to be Shiny when encountered
Mega Metagross Raid Day details
Mega Metagross will make its debut in Pokémon GO during a special Raid Day taking place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. There will be additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, a higher limit of 20 remote raids and an increased chance to encounter Shiny Metagross!
Metagross caught at Mega Raids during the event will know the featured Fast Attack Shadow Claw.
Solosis stars in October’s Community Day
October’s Pokémon GO Community Day will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time and features Solosis! It will have an increased chance of being Shiny. The following bonuses will be active:
- 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- Lure Modules will last for one hour and may attract the featured Pokémon.*
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of three for the day.*
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.*
When Duosion, Solosis’ evolution, is evolved to Reuniclus during the event it will learn the featured Fast Attack Charm! Charm has 13 power in PVP and 20 power in Gyms and Raids.
