More August events in Pokémon GO have been detailed! Get ready to raid and enjoy the Pokémon World Championships in-game with a special costumed Pikachu.
Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day details

Taking place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day will feature Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia in raids. During the event, the following bonuses will be in effect:
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Dialga and Palkia in their Origin Formes from raids
- Origin Forme Dialga encountered in raids may know the Charged Attack Roar of Time
- Origin Forme Palkia encountered in raids may know the Charged Attack Spacial Rend
- Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Saturday, August 9, at 2:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. PDT
- Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a total of six).
- 1.5× XP from Raid Battles
- Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from in-person Raid Battles for Trainers level 31 and up
Shadow Kyogre and Giratina star in Delightful Days: Taken Over

From Monday, August 11, at 12:00 a.m. until Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time, the Delightful Days: Taken Over event will be held in Pokémon GO. Team Rocket will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops and flying over in balloons while the event is active. In addition, the following bonuses will be in effect:
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
- Pokémon caught via one-star and three-star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.
- For the first time in Pokémon GO, you might even hatch Shiny Salandit—if you’re lucky!
- Free Special Research will be available to earn a Super Rocket Radar until September 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m.
- Event-themed Field Research tasks that reward Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and Mysterious Components
- Event-themed Collection Challenge
In order to capture Shadow Giratina you’ll need to find and defeat Team Rocket boss Giovanni which requires a Super Rocket Radar.

Celebrate the Pokémon World Championships in GO

To coincide with the 2025 Pokémon World Championships taking place in Anaheim, California, Pokémon GO will be hosting celebrations in-game for players to take advantage of worldwide from Friday, August 15, at 10:00 a.m. until Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
During the event, players will be able to catch a costumed Pikachu wearing a varsity jacket and also enjoy the following bonuses:
- Up to five Special Trades can be made each day.
- Additional Pokémon encounters along the GO Battle League reward track.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pikachu wearing a varsity jacket.
- Event-themed Field Research tasks that reward encounters with Pikachu wearing a varsity jacket*, Marill*, Paldean Wooper* and Honedge

Featured attacks available during the event
There are featured attacks that Pokémon may know when encountered or learn when evolved during the event:
- Lapras will know the Charged Attack Ice Beam when caught during the event
- Evolve Mankey during the event for a Primeape that knows the Charged Attack Rage Fist
- Evolve Primeape during the event for an Annihilape that knows the Charged Attack Rage Fist
- Evolve Paldean Wooper during the event for a Clodsire that knows the Charged Attack Megahorn
New avatar items and stickers
There will also be new items to dress up your avatar with, both for free and in the in-game store.


There will be free t-shirt items available for those taking part in a scavenger hunt at the Pokémon World Championships venue (yellow) and also one available to players globally via a code that will be distributed during the live Twitch stream of the event (white).
A new shirt and visor will also be added to the store as an optional purchase for your player avatar.

There will also be new Pokémon World Championships-themed stickers added to the in-game store and also available from PokéStops and gifts from other players.
