The Sweet Discoveries event brings Applin, Flapple and Appletun to Pokémon GO

The Sweet Discoveries event will be held in Pokémon GO from Thursday, April 24, at 10 a.m. until Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8 p.m. local time and introduces Applin and its two Gen VII evolutions, Flapple and Appletun.

While it is active, players can take advantage of the following bonuses and activities:

  • Double Candy for catching Pokémon
  • Catching Delibird or Skwovet will award Berries
  • Increased chance for apples to appear at Mossy Lure Modules
  • Half Egg Hatch Distance for first three Eggs hatched using the Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget
  • Event-themed Field Research tasks can be picked up from PokéStops
  • Event-themed PokéStop Showcases
  • Free Timed research will be available
  • Optional paid Timed Research will be available for purchase

One unique aspect of this event is the introduction of apples. They will spawn on the map and may result in encounters with Applin or other Pokémon when tapped or give players a Sweet Apple or Tart Apple.

How to evolve Applin into Flapple and Appletun in Pokémon GO

In order to evolve Applin in Pokémon GO, players will need to collect Tart Apples or Sweet Apples in addition to having Applin Candy.

  • To evolve Applin into Flapple, players will need 200 Applin Candy and 20 Tart Apples
  • To evolve Applin into Appletun, players will need 200 Applin Candy and 20 Sweet Apples

As a reminder, Tart Apples and Sweet Apples have a chance of being obtained when tapping on apples which spawn during the Sweet Discoveries event.

Applin Candy can be obtained by catching Applin which have a chance of being encountered when tapping apples or by using Rare Candies.

Wild Pokémon spawns

During the event, players may encounter the following Pokémon:

  • Alolan Rattata*
  • Abra*
  • Bellsprout*
  • Delibird*
  • Gulpin*
  • Bidoof*
  • Munna*
  • Bounsweet*
  • Skwovet*
  • Snorlax* (Rare)
  • Shuckle* (Rare)
  • Komala* (Rare)

Players will have an increased chance to encounter Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet.

*An asterisk denotes that this Pokémon may be Shiny when encountered

Pokémon Eggs

Players may hatch the following Pokémon from the corresponding Eggs if they are obtained during the event:

7 km Pokémon Eggs

  • Delibird*
  • Cherubi*
  • Munchlax*
  • Skwovet*

Players will have an increased chance to hatch Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet!
