Google is challenging searchers to Catch ‘Em All!

Pokémon are getting a little love from Google, the most popular English search engine, and players can now complete a Pokédex of all 151 original Generation I Kanto Pokémon!

How to complete your Pokédex

Completing your Pokédex isn’t too hard and will probably be pretty easy for Pokémon fans — I recommend that you try to do it from memory to make it more fun, although the silhouettes will probably give you all the clues you need to jog your memory.

Here are the steps:

  1. Search a Pokémon’s name in Google from your mobile device (this Pokémon-catching feature is not available on the desktop version of Google)
  2. Click the Poké Ball icon in the lower righthand corner
  3. Sign in with a Google account if you want to keep your progress
  4. Continue searching for the remaining 150 Pokémon from the Kanto region!

It’s that easy!

Not Google’s first collaboration with Pokémon

More than 10 years ago, Google Maps released a Pokémon Challenge for April Fool’s Day in 2014! The challenge ultimately became a reality with the help of Niantic, a company originally formed inside of Google, which launched the game Pokémon GO in the summer of 2016.

Will we see more of Pokémon and Google in the future? It’s certainly possible!
