Nintendo Switch 2 Direct live coverage

It’s finally time to learn more about Nintendo’s next console, the Nintendo Switch 2, where Pokémon games are sure to be released in the future! You can watch it below and we’ll also be providing text updates for the major reveals!

Some quick information is that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be launching on June 5, 2025 and will retail for $449.99!

• The Nintendo Direct is starting off with a Mario Kart reveal! It will be called Mario Kart World and feature the traversal of multiple terrains, rail grinding and other new features
• New ‘C’ button will allow for communication, including chat and screensharing. Also compatible with compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 camera. There will be an free period of use which will not require an Online membership through March 2026
• GameShare will allow you to share compatible games for multiplayer with only one copy
• Some details about the new Nintendo Switch 2 console:
  • Screen is a 1080p LCD and supports HDR, up to 120 fps
  • Console features two USB-C ports
  • Includes 256 GB of in-built storage
  • Docked mode can support 4K and dock now features a fan to cool the console
• The paid digital download Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour will help players familiarize themselves with the new system
• Nintendo Switch 2 Game Cards will be red to differentiate themselves
• The Nintendo Switch 2 will be launching on June 5, 2025
• Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will feature enhanced performance and sometimes new features and content
  • Switch 2 Edition games include: Mario Party, LoZ: Breath of the Wild/2, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and… Pokémon Legends: Z-A!
  • Switch 2 Editions will be available at a reduced upgrade price if you own the original Switch title

• Nintendo has announced Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
• The Nintendo Switch Online service will continued to be used for the Switch 2 and adds support for Game Cube titles, including Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness!
