The upcoming Nintendo Switch game Pokémon Legends: Z-A had new information released as part of the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents presentation. Protagonists, starting Pokémon, supporting characters and more were revealed and you can read up below!

Protagonists and Characters in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Playing as either the male or female main character, players will come to Lumiose City as tourists.
While in Lumiose City, you’ll be staying at Hotel Z, run by AZ, and befriend fellow resident Urbain or Taunie, depending on the main character gender you chose.
Quasartico Inc. CEO Jett and her assistant Vinnie are involved in the urban redevelopment plan for the city.
Active, real-time battles
For the first time in a main series Pokémon title, battles will play out in real time. Moves will have different ranges and areas of attack which must be considered when battling. Your opponents moves may be able to be dodged by moving around the battlefield.
Mega Evolution will return as a battle mechanic and allow compatible Pokémon to Mega Evolve.
Pokémon
At the beginning of their adventure in Lumiose City, players will be able to choose between Chikorita, Tepig and Totodile.
Wild Pokémon can be caught throughout Lumiose City, both wandering around and in special wild zones. The latter are high-tech zones where wild Pokémon share the city with humans.
Like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can throw Poké Balls in attempt to catch wild Pokémon and also utilize their own Pokémon to weaken wild opponents for better odds to capture them.
