Takara Tomy reveals upcoming Pokémon merch for January 2024

It’s almost the end of 2023 but we have a lot of cool Pokémon merch to look forward to in the new year already! Takara Tomy has updated their website with some of the goods that will be available right away in January, at least locally in Japan.

New additions to the Pokémon Oyasumi Friends line

Charizard, Pachirisu and Sprigatito are all getting Oyasumi Friends plushies. These adorable sleeping stuffed animals will be released on January 25 in Japan.

Two new Kimi Ni Kimeta Pokémon plushies

Both Bulbasaur and Squirtle will be added to the Kimi Ni Kimeta (“I Choose You!”) line of Pokémon plushies next year! It’s hard to believe that these two original starting Pokémon hadn’t already been released. They will be available in Japan from January 18.

Plush Pokémon keychains with sound effects

These plush keychains of the Paldean starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly have three sounds they can make. They will be released in Japan at the very end of 2023 on December 28.

Final notes

One new MonColle figure, Terapagos, is coming out on January 27, but we actually included it in coverage of December’s Takara Tomy releases.

If you want to buy Takara Tomy items from outside of Japan, you can use sites like Nin-Nin Game that ship Japanese goods worldwide (ad).

Let us know what you think of these new plushies! That Pachirisu has to be one of the cutest Oyasumi Friends releases yet. What do you think?? Don’t forget our Discord server also has a channel for Pokémon merch discussions!
