Starter Showdown: Clash – Hoenn Hubbub

It’s been a while and what a crazy last couple of months we’ve had! We’ve seen the start of a new Pokémon generation and tons of other news, but now we’re happy to be back with the next round of Starter Showdown: Clash!

Sinnoh Slam Results

Back in February, we held the Sinnoh Slam voting round on Twitter and our Discord server. After two months of voting, the results are in and we’re happy to finally share them with everyone!

Sadly, once again our Fire-type starter Chimchar landed in third place, continuing a trend. Second place went to Turtwig and finally, Piplup took first place with almost double the votes Chimchar received.

Hoenn Round Voting

As we’re moving backwards in time through each generation, next up is the Hoenn region voting! The Hoenn region first made its appearance in the 2002 games Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire and was last seen in the Nintendo 3DS remakes Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire in 2014.

Starters in the Hoenn region were obtained from Professor Birch after the player arrived in Litteroot Town at the start of the games. So, here are the contenders for this round…

  • Treecko the Wood Gecko Pokémon is the Grass-type Starter of the Hoenn region. It is said to always be cool, calm and collected, and an excellent climber.
  • Torchic is the Fire-type Chick Pokémon It has a flame sac within its body that perpetually burns. If you hug this Pokémon it is said to glow with warmth.
  • Mudkip is the Water-type Mud Fish Pokémon. Despite its small size, Mudkip is incredibly strong and agile.

So which gets your vote? As always you can place your votes using our Twitter poll below, or by visiting our Discord server and checking the #starter-showdown channel. Voting will remain open for a week after which the results and the next round will be live!

We hope everyone is excited for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and looking forward to more new being shared in the coming month. Don’t forget to check out our hub for the game! Thank you for being a part of the PokéJungle community and be sure to join us on social media:
