We’re introducing a new type of article to help keep you up to date with Pokémon apps! If multiple app updates are announced during a week (as they often are), we’ll be updating a single article, often briefer than standard posts. There will never more than one “APP-DATES” article per week! Let us know what you think of this approach in the comments.
Large Pokémon GO events will be covered separately, although actual app updates for the game will be listed in the weekly APP-DATES article.
Pokémon Masters EX
- December 20: N and Zekrom will be added as a Sync Pair from December 23. He will also get his own special story event which will run until January 11. In addition, a special event called New Year’s Gifts Galore will be giving out 3,000 gems between the 23rd and 31st.
Pokémon GO
- December 21: It has been announced that January’s Community Day will feature Machop! Here are the features and bonuses:
- Machop will be appearing more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
- 3× Catch Stardust
- Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
- Evolve Machoke during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Machamp that knows Payback.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- There’ll be a special one-time-purchase Machop Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring an Elite Charged TM, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and 30 Ultra Balls.
- For US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Machop Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, Straight to the Top, Machop! Remember, Trainers—if you purchase a ticket for the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event by Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PST (GMT −8), you’ll get this Special Research story for free!
