Official Nintendo Magazine Reports Pokémon’s 8th Generation Coming 2018
Year of Legendary Pokémon Event
- For those in the United States, the next phase of the Year of Legendary Pokémon event has begun! Be sure to head to your local Target before April 29th to pick up a Serial Code and download Entei (Sun/Ultra Sun) or Raikou (Moon/Ultra Moon)! Like the other distributions, the game which they are downloaded to determines some factors: They will be Level 100 and holding a Gold Bottle Cap if received in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, but will only come at Level 60 if done in Sun & Moon.
- For those of in Canada, the newsletter containg Serial Codes for Entei or Raikou (depending on your game) have been sent out! This event Entei and Raikou follow the same rules as the US distribution
- For those in Europe & Oceania, the special Entei and Rakou event is due to end later this week on, April 25th. This region’s distribution is done over the Nintendo Network, but follows the same rules as the US distribution.
Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon
- The latest Global Mission to hatch as many eggs as possible has official finished in success with 4,887,292 eggs hatched worldwide! That’s a lot of walking! Be sure to stop by the Festival Plaza to pick up the gift of 2,000 FC (4,000 FC if your game is connected to the Global Link)
- For those who participated in the 2018 International Challenge March Battle Competition, the entry gift of 50 BP is now available to all qualifying players via the Global Link. Be sure to redeem them by April 31st, 2018!
- Reminder that registration for the Ultra Kalos Classic competition has begun! Registration ends April 26th, 2018, while the actual battles will run from April 27th until the 29th
Pokkén Tournament DX
- From April 25th through May 4th you can participate in the newly announced Volt Shock Fist Group Match! Participation will grant a special title reward based on Pikachu, gaining more the higher you place
Pokémon GO
- A new in game event has been announced due to the success of the Earth Day clean ups! Until April 30th enjoy extra Stardust, and Water, Ground & Grass-type Pokémon spawns, as well as the release of Shiny Wailmer!
- The special Kanto Celebration are now available until April 24th – extending their originally announced end date
- In honor of Earth Day the new “Surf Blue” avatar t-shirt featuring Lapras, Pikachu, and Wingull is now available to all GO players for free!
- As per usual, the first details May’s Pokémon GO Community Day have been revealed! The upcoming Community Day event will take place on May 19th, featuring Charmander as its focus. In addition to 3 hour Lures and 3x Stardust for every capture, all Charizard evolved during the time period will learn a yet to be announced special move (presumably Blast Burn). Check out

Pokémon Duel
- The latest Team Match has begun! Players must choose between Team Reshiram, Team Zekrom, or Team Kyurem. Throughout the event players will collectively rack up points for their team by playing and winning matches. You can even receive various special items such as the figures for Shiny Magikarp & Shiny Gyarados! Choose your team wisely!
- April Booster B packs are now available! All figures in the pact will come at CLv. 1
- Requiring 247 MB, Version 6.0.2 is now available for the popular, turn-based strategy game. This patch contains a few new figures:
- The New UX Figures is Shiny Mega Gengar
- The New EX Figure is Shiny Gengar
- Note: These figures are only available by purchasing a special pack of Gems for the next week or the Material Exchange.
Pokémon Shuffle
- The Diancie Escalation Battle will be available to challenge until May 1st
- The following stages are all available until April 24th as part of week 10 of Pokémon Shuffle’s event cycle:
- The Ultra Challenge Stage agains Shiny Ho-Oh
- The Great Challenge Stages consist of Alolan Raichu, Armaldo, Shaymin Sky Form, Mudsdale, & Oranguru
- This week’s Daily Pokémon stages are Oricorio P’au Style, Alolan Grimer, Dewpider, Alolan Sandshrew, & Brionne
- The One Chance Per Day stage features Tornadus
- There’s a a Special Stage against Shiny Tyranitar
