Pokémon GO players have been asking for Mew since the game’s launch and now it seems that the elusive Pokémon may be catchable soon! First though, Professor Willow has tasked trainers with gathering information and completing research quests from him.
Starting March 30th Research Tasks will become available in game! These act as quests for trainers; such as capturing or battling a specific Pokémon species or type. By helping Professor Willow complete research you’ll earn stamps (one per day), and for every seven you can gain rewards such as Stardust, mystery items, and the chance to meet Legendary Pokémon like Mew! There are two types of Research Tasks:
- Field Research: You’ll gather these by spinning Pokéstops
- Special Research: Research requested by Professor Willow himself
Pokémon GO had begun to be a bit stale for me…can’t wait to give these Research Tasks a shot!
[UPDATE] Niantic has added the Gym Leader outfit into the game! This works similarly to past outfit launches wherein you must work up the tiers of the Gym Leader medal and achieve gold to unlock the ability to purchase each avatar item in the shop. The items come in red, blue, and yellow (for Team Valor, Mystic, and Instinct, respectively) and are priced as follows:
- Gym Leader shirt – 220 Pokécoins
- Gym Leader shorts – 200 Pokécoins
- Gym Leader shoes – 100 Pokécoins
- Gym Leader gloves – 50 Pokécoins
