  1. The rage is real from this direct. I am personally happy with what we got. This was only a taste of what we are getting in 2018 and people need to be patient. we will probably get an actual big direct maybe next month. That said I am happy tropical freeze is coming to switch since I didn’t own a Wii U.

  2. I’m so glad that TWEWY is getting some love tho, and not only that but Mario Tennis and that Aegislash looked pretty dope.

Still doesn’t explain the flaming Robo and Hot Dog man tho .-.

  4. Direct was pretty good for what it was.
World ends with you and dark souls are awesome releases on the switch, Fe looks nice. The new kirby looks like a fun platformer, rest of the stuff was just meh for me.

  5. Played some Pokken and feel better and the DLC has me hyped! (Still want Fire Emblem tho) I got the game for Christmas, and haven’t played until today, and haven’t started the campaign yet, thinking maybe I’ll wait till I can use Aegislash as my partner

  7. I hate that I actually like Pokkén on the Switch…..I was so excited for it when it launched on the Wii U and then it sucked so bad. Now I’ve had payed it on the Switch and I’m actually excited for dlc……my heart doesn’t know what it wants.

    • Honestly we got donged on the Wii U, the whole system got donged.
The truth of the matter is Pokken is a game that clearly took a lot of passion to make and the fact that characters like Aeigislash exist are testaments to it

  8. Good grief some Pokémon fans are so sure of themselves. I keep seeing arguments breaking out on Pokémon switch releasing in2018 or 2019. Just because there has never been a 2 year gap before between gens doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Hell before 2013 us getting a worldwide release with a Pokémon game was unheard of. What I am saying is stop following freaking patterns because patterns are meant to be broken l

    • I find this kind of stupid is found quite often in the general Nintendo fanbase. Everybody thinks they’re right and everyone else is dumb

      Reply
      • Pretty much. I keep seeing the 2019 people insulting people who think it’s coming out in 2018. It honestly makes me want the game to come out this year just so they look like jackasses in all honesty. Either way I don’t care when it comes out because if it doesn’t happen this year there will be plenty to keep me busy until 2019. People just need to calm down and realize patterns don’t mean crap anymore

          • That is true for The release for countries besides japan. February 27 1996 was the release date for red bad green. November 21 1999 for gen 2. That said I do see your point.

          • Okay looking at he release schedule according to Japanese releases it went like this
            Gen 1 1996
            Gen 2 1999
            Gen 3 2002
            Gen 4 2006
            Gen 5 2010
Gen 6 2013 (games start releasing worldwide)
            Gen 7 2016
Gen 8 could release between this year and next no one knows for sure.

          • We will have to wait and see. I am just annoyed at the people online talking down to people who think it’s coming out this year. There is no telling how long they have been working on this game so this year is very possible. That said I expect the reveal trailer will be at e3 or maybe even worlds

  9. Ok, so we are definitely getting a bigger direct in the next couple weeks right? Almost every mini direct has been followed by a bigger one soon after, there is still an empty spot on the direct page on Nintendo’s website, and we didn’t get a prior announcement, which means the Gamestop tweet wouldn’t make sense, and even if it did, it wasn’t tweeted today

  10. But one thing I’ve wanted to do is flesh out a pugnacious fighter fakemon

    Kickaroo
    Strong Leg Pkm
    Fighting/Normal
Lead Foot HA: Scrappy (Lead Foot: Powers up Kicking moves by 30% but will always go last)

A large tan and Orange kangaroo Pokémon with a powerful lower body, long legs and toes with tiny nails, a round belly with a large X shaped patch on the middle, somewhat short arms with round mitten shaped paws always curled into a fist, a thick tail with a bent middle section, a angry glaring face with red rectangular markings under the eyes and a round nose

    HP: 80
    Atk: 130
    Def: 70
    SpAtk: 30
    SpDef: 75
    Speed: 50

    Pound
    Leer
    Sand-Attack
    Focus Energy
    Double-Kick
    Endure
    Headbutt
    Beat Up
    Triple Kick
    Bulk Up
    Rolling Kick
    Agility
    Blaze Kick
    Bounce
    Parting Shot
    Mega Kick
    High Jump Kick
    Giga Impact

      • I may pick it up then! That said Nintendo needs to slow down 👀 my poor wallet needs a break.
        Bayonetta 1+2
        Kirby
        Arms
        Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze
        Doom
        Skyrim
        Megaman 11
        Yoshi
Just a small list of games I want right now for my switch lol and of course Pokémon is another one depends if it comes this year or not

  11. >sees Mega Ray as support
Is this Nintendo’s idea of balancing it, or is it gonna be banned out of the Ubers equivalent of Pokken Tournament?

    Reply
    • I did a lot of researching on it. If it’s damage is over 200, it’s going to be absolutely broken considering it crosses the entire screen and can wall splat without ending a phase which leads to combos.

  12. Just watched the Star Allies part and I say…

OMG YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS!!!!! The game I have been waiting for! Spider and Artist Kirby look amazing!! Suplex Kirby is coming back eeeee! This is the game I have been waiting for! Definitely getting a Switch by March for this

      • No, I don’t have $300 to spend on something that had no games that I truely longed for (Odyssey and Pokken look cool, but not the kind of things worth giving up Christmas for) I think I will try to push my brother to buy it and I slowly pay him back half as it would be for both of us

        Reply
        • Man, Odyssey is ABSOLUTELY worth it. I’m 100% sure you’d love it. I haven’t played BotW yet, but people say it’s even better.

          Reply
          • Odyssey is actually the second game I want for Switch

And people say that cause they like Zelda, me? I don’t really like it, like people say I’m missing out, but what am I missing out on if I’m not a fan of that series

Also Order I’d like for Switch games
            Star Allies
            Odyssey
            Pokken
            Star Dew Valley
            Yoshi Switch
And Pokémon Switch whenever its revealed

          • I looked and so far other than games I previously listed that intrigue me are

-Cave story (If I could’ve found a physical copy for 3ds I already would have it)
            -Yookalay lee
-Shovel Knight (actually looks cool cause it looks like a good character design on the knight)
            -Mario+Rabbids
            -Just Dance 2017
            -Mario kart 8 I guess
-Minecraft, because I’m finally have a good craft experience with it

          • Cave Story is fantastic. 3DS version sucks but the Switch version is good. Go for the true ending. You should know the original 2005 game is free on PC with an English patch but the one on the Switch is the deluxe version

Yooka-Laylee is kinda meh but I’m sure you could get some fun out of it

Shovelknight- One of the best platformers I’ve ever played. Get it.

Haven’t played Rabbids but I hear it’s great.

            Just Dance is a no

Mario Kart 8 is a lot of fun

            And Minecraft

  13. Okay real talk
Aeigislash’s moveset consists of attack buffs and various offensive moves during it’s sword phase. During it’s defensive phase it get counters and certain debuffing attacks, mainly, king’s shield.

  14. Decided to rework one of my fakemon lines:

    Pesweete
    Fairy/Ghost
    The Small Candy Pokemon
They fly around, leaving a scent of Candy wherever they go. Children often befriend them, not knowing that Pesweete had in the past been human children themselves.

    Evolves at level 20 into:

    Spoocanedy
    Fairy/Ghost
    The Sweet Spirit Pokemon
As they evolve, they get faster and more offensive. If you caught one as a Pesweete, it will always stand by your side and try to protect you.

    Evolves at level 35 into:

    Lordipop
    Fairy/Ghost
    The Candy Ghoul Pokemon
They become quite experienced fighters after evolving from Spoocanedy. Lordipop’s main goal is to protect its trainer from any danger. Some people say that food ate around Lordipop tastes sweeter and can make you happy if you’re feeling bad.

  15. I finally sat down and watched the Direct and unpopular opinion I really didn’t get hyped

The Kirby series I’ve kinda steered away but I’m definitely going to get it for my brother
I’m not TOO crazy about the balloon hide and seek which’ll boil down to scrubs hiding them in obvious nooks and crannies and hyper elitists putting them as far away as humanly possible to ensure secrecy
And lastly the Tennis series was always a big favorite but I rather get it as a gift than spend money on it myself

And Dark (Prepare your anus) Souls my brother would tear me several new ones if I bought on the switch (he’s always bugging me to play the original one but I was like meh don’t feel like it)

    Rhyperior/Rhydon
    Excadrill
    Heracross
    Golem
    Snorlax/Hariyama
    Bewear/Buzzwole
    Incineroar
    Simisage
    Braviary
    Marowak (could be either form)
    Golisopod

  18. So I beat clay last night. Wasn’t as hard as I was anticipating. Had a Deerling with Energy Ball on the team for this one gym. Hopefully that’ll have to be the last time I use a Pokemon that I don’t want to keep on my team. Now onto chargestone cave to get my Klink. He’ll double as my Steel and Electric type (despite not actually being an Electric type). Then hopefully once I beat Skyla I can go get my Frillish (FINALLY). Didn’t think it’d take this long to the second half of my team…..

  19. Fakemon line that I don’t know if I’ll put in my fan game. Encountered sometimes by picking up Pokeballs.

    Huntry
    Dark
    The Specific Hunter Pokemon
Their diet consists out of Voltorb and Amoongus. When they sees a white and red ball, it runs at it and attacks without thinking. They even learned to digest real pokeballs.

Evolves after being given a Pokeball in a Poke Mart

    Balluntry
    Dark/Steel
    The Pokeball Hunter Pokemon
After evolving they stop trying to find Voltorb and Amoongus. Balluntry eat only Pokeballs. They will be confused if you’ll try to feed them an other type of Pokeball than the basic.

  20. When should I evolve my Pansear? I’m hesitant because I really like the idea of having Pansear on my shoulder and being my main dude. On the other hand I think having a fully evolved Pokemon as my main team maybe would be useful. I do like Simisear too…..I just don’t know……*SIGH*

  21. Very happy with this direct, nothing massive but loads of great small things.

-Never expected more pokken content but hyped for it, and hope they keep supporting the game beyond these two new characters (they managed to fill up the character select screen from the first game perfectly, I suspect they may try and do it again lol).
Very happy about aegislash, would have expected/preferred greninja because they’ve already got every other oversaturatedly popular pokémon in the game bar that one so why not, but hey blastoise is good. I’m more suprised we still haven’t gotten a rock or normal type mon in the roster, they’re the only missing types now-expecting them in the future.
You know what would be cool too? New battle arenas! The current ones are really cool but I’d love to see them design some new ones.

-Now exams are passed I can finally get back into Mario Odyssey (I’m only on my fourth world), and the new content looks sweet!

-I’m so happy they’ve seemingly gone back to putting effort into mario sports games, they’ve been getting offensively generic these past few years. I hope the story in Mario Tennis Aces Delivers, and I hope they go for some wacky character choices, that was one of the best part of older sports games.

-Somewhat tempted to get kirby, I was pretty happy with not having to buy any games for the first bit of this year because I already have so many to complete and because money, but I might consider it in the future. Only kirby game I have is Epic Yarn and it’s massive charm and chill approach make it one of my favourite platformers I’v played. I know this one isn’t the same at all but it looks really fun.

-Kinda want Hyrule warriors as well despite having the wii u version with all the DLC, because I never really got the time to play it much at all (not that it was a waste, my brother played it); and having bought pokken dx I actually put time into it unlike the wii u version . I’ll probably wait till I can get it cheap, like mario kart.

-Really don’t think I’ll be getting Tropical Freeze again, I need to finish the original which I only got halfway through. I’m surprised their main new feature is an easy mode, but it looks like a very fun easy mode and it’s great fanservice too!

Overall nintendo is off to a great start this year IMO.

I have this Alligator/Roman Gladiator Fakemon line

    Aeligo-Agladius-Gladigator
And originally they were Water into Water/Steel with a metal scales and a long sword like tail but the more I think of it it feels more light Fighting but I don’t want anymore Fighting types in my roster

        • How good are you at computer stuff? lol While I haven’t used it much I’d use a program called OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) It’s not too hard to get used to and it’s nice for setting up a layout.

Now as far as the layout is concerned you’ll want some sort of image editing program. Something you can make a PNG file image with. It HAS to be a PNG file. That’s how most people make their layouts for LPs. What you do is basically cut out what are essentially holes for the game you’re capturing and the camera shot (i you intend on putting one in). Once you get the layout you want (I suggest keeping it simple to start with) you bring it into OBS and scale it to the window. You then have OBS capture the thing you want to record (in this case the Sage player window) and move the captured image over to where you want it in the layout. If you have a mic OBS can capture that too.

It’s worth downloading OBS even just to play around with it. It may be easier to understand by playing with it rather than reading my giant wall of text haha Either way here are some links. One to the OBS website and one to a tutorial on how to make a layout. It’s done in Photo Shop, but it’ll give you a general idea of how to do it. Oh and here is a tutorial on how to bring stuff into OBS

          https://obsproject.com/
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6WG2MFGBsI

Also doing some brief research is helpful. Don’t rush into it. Once you get a good feel for how to make the layouts or set up OBS (or whatever you end up using to capture) it gets easier. I’m still learning myself honestly

          Reply
          • Glad I could help even a little. It’s best to take these things one step at a time. Watch as many videos as you can. If you try to rush into it you’ll only frustrate yourself and your work will suffer. Start small and gradually build. Eventually you’ll become competent enough in the programs and techniques that you won’t even think about it as you’re using them. Also as cliched as it sounds practice makes perfect. I’m still nowhere near being great yet I keep trying every day to get a little better at what I do. It certainly helps me in both my channel and when I do professional editing work for clients

  23. @TheLastKurusu:disqus Also as far as my video is concerned I did it all in Premiere (altho it would have been easier in After Effects honestly) What I did was done with Key frames. You can probably get a free trial to Creative Cloud for a week to play around with it. It’s not through the capture program I talked about below tho. You can probably get the same effects through any video editing program. All fades and movements. Keyframes are you’re friends when working with motion graphics. Also I hope everything I posted helped even a little. Sometimes it’s hard for me to explain stuff even if I know how to do something. Thus why I directed you to those tutorials lol

  29. So I’ve been hearing about Nintendo opening another Direct slot after today’s Direct Mini and I decided to check it out for myself. Turns out the one they removed was last January’s Fire Emblem Direct. For you Fire Emblem fans out there (of which I will soon become), this likely means they’re going to post a new one very soon revealing the new Fire Emblem and don’t want people to get confused.

    • Yeah if we get another direct any time soon it’s probably gonna be for the FE Switch game. People should expect that more than anything else.

        • We prolly won’t get another general direct until April or May. There’s usually one right before e3 to get the smaller stuff out of the way.

          Reply
    • Ugh, I hope so, that’s all I wanted from this direct, no Smash? Fine. No Pokemon? Fine. No Metroid? Fine. But no Fire Emblem was the only reason I didn’t get initially hyped for this, though in retrospect, it was pretty Funky 😉

  30. Just finished Futaba’s dungeon in P5. It was actually quite the refreshing ending to the dungeon. Especially compared to the ones prior to it. Glad things got resolved the way they did and looking forward to getting into more story stuff. I let the game sit in that dungeon for so long. I prolly still have a ton left in the game. It’s times like this I really wish it was for Vita so I could take it with me and wouldn’t need to commit to siting in front of my TV.

    • God I had that feeling so many times before, you get sad because the game you’re enjoying so much is ending

But then you get a little happier because there’s probably something more to play in the Postgame
