Pokémon Crystal to be Released on Virtual Console

As many speculated when Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver were released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console last year, fans will get a chance to re-play the classic Pokémon Crystal as well.

Set for a release on January 26, 2018, it will include the ability to deposit caught Pokémon in Pokémon Bank and transfer them to Gen VII games. The re-release of Crystal will also allow players to encounter the legendary Celebi!

I, for one, am massively excited! The animated sprites of Crystal are some of the most iconic in the series. It also finally let you choose the gender of your trainer at the outset of your adventure! This will be a great way to start 2018 for trainers across the world!

  1. The next big question that will be is…Will it have compatibility with the mobile GB functionalities?

More than likely it won’t, not even the JP version.

  3. The madmen actually did it! I’m so glad I didn’t invest all of that time into Gold like I was planning to. Crystal it is! So the main difference between this one and the GS virtual console releases is that we can encounter Celebi in the game itself?

  4. So…I feel like an idiot. I thought it was weird how that the Net Neutrality Act was called that. I had thought that the Net Neutrality Act was something that Pai was trying to get passed not that it was getting repealed. I should have made the connection that the websites that I was looking at about saving Net Neutrality was for the Net Neutrality Act. I am mentioning this on the site because I made a few comments here that might have left some of you confused on my stance on the Net Neutrality Act. I am really hoping that it does not get repealed, I mean if it does than this day would be just as bad if not worse as the day that Trump was elected to be President. (If I offend anyone by saying this please know this is a personal opinion that I am divulging because I feel it is a suitable comparison). I know that this is a trite phrase and at this point it may be a little late, but if anyone hasn’t signed a petition, contacted their representative, or whatever please take a moment in your day to do so.

I just hope that if something happens I want to see radical action to take effect until we know that the internet will be free

    • OH MY GOD! That is actually insane, it’s going to take me a while to wrap my head around this idea. Disney shouldn’t be allowed to do this, it’s crazy.

    • Ok, so Disney now have way too much power in regards to media and entertainment.

Literally the only competition left is Universal and Warner Bros.

    • I wonder what will be cancelled, Dark phoenix, New Mutants and Deadpool 2 will still go ahead. After that I assume X-men will reboot into MCU continuity, Deadpool can do what it likes as long as Disney are cool with it, just release it under the Fox banner, he can just wake up in a Disney animation or something briefly to slyly acknowledge it. Gambit movie will likely go down again. Not sure on the TV shows. Maybe they can bring Mutants into Agents of Shield and say they were in hiding, especially with all the inhuman controversy.

I do worry for Family Guy a bit. Still now they can do even more Star Wars stuff if they really want, should it not be cancelled.

  7. Welp I should have expected this. I am not sure if I am going to get the Crystal virtual console as I haven’t finished my Gold virtual console run. I still needed to fight Red. I am hoping that the delayed release of Crystal may be some sign that regional forms of Johto Pokémon are to come in Gen 8. However for that to work they would need to have Pokémon Bank on the Switch in order to transfer Pokémon from the 3DS games to the Switch. Thus, I must ask if it is possible to use Pokémon Bank to transfer Pokémon between games of different systems.

  8. I love how the very livelihood of the modern American youth might be taken away from us and how some people are legitimately fighting for that to happen

  9. Might get this, I was waiting for this instead of GS, still not sure I want to spend money on it though. It only really lets me get Multiscale Lugia and Regenerator Ho-Oh which will still be in regular Pokeballs. Hmm…

        • Well I mean ignoring the fact that the EU and a few other bodies have laws that are against ridding of net neutrality but let’s go straight to hyperbole.

If I’m being honest, a few countries will try to imitate America with this, but overall I don’t think it’s this huge doomsday thing people claim it’ll be. It’ll be harmful (extremely in some subjects) but it’s certainly being exaggerated

          • Yeah, but What about everyone from the States that uses internet? They’re a Big part of it. Most popular YTbers are from the US. A huge Chunk of the net will be hurt!

          • ‘It’ll be harmful (extremely in some subjects) but it’s certainly being exaggerated’

This is what I said. Yes it sucks, but it’s nothing world threatening and its impact is being highly exaggerated. It will extremely effect America and entertainment as a whole, but people are exaggerating this into something it isn’t.

          • ‘Need the Internet to live’

            1) The Internet isn’t going to disappear completely. Professional/vital uses of the Internet will probably be inconvenienced at worst. Just because you can’t visit Pokéjungle without it either being on terrible WiFi or more expensive WiFi doesn’t mean you’ll cease to exist. Your quality of life may go down, but your life doesn’t cease.

            2) Human beings lived without the Internet for thousands of years. Hell, your grandparents probably lived without it. Yes it’ll suck but again it’ll degrade and inconvenience, not end your actual life.

          • Some people actually do need the internet in order to make a living though, and modern life in any first world country generally requires internet capabilities..but it’s not like this will destroy the internet. Just screw people over while corrupt officials get richer

          • ‘Making a living’ + ‘Increases quality of life’ =/= the actual process of living. The Internet makes our lives better but we don’t need it to survive

          • No, you don’t. You need it for many things in life but if the Internet was to end human life wouldn’t cease to exist. It may for technology dependant people but the rest of us would just regress. My response was to people acting like it was the actual end of human life. Which it isn’t.

          • Humanity in general does not need the internet to survive. But our current society does. Don’t take the internet for granted.

          • I’m not tho. I’m literally just stating it won’t end human life because some people are treating it like it’s apocalyptic. It’s not.

You’d have to be an idiot to think the internet isn’t important to society.

          • I may be over reacting, but it’s due worry

Also knowing since they can block sites too who says that my provider won’t block Pokejungle?

A world without the Jungle is a world I don’t want to live in

          • Providers would only block rival sites or sites with common traffic so clients have to pay more to obtain them, PJ doesn’t fit in any of these categories, hell probably not even Disqus

          • Eeeeh, you talk like they’re going to break the internet or something, but if NN is broken, the internet providers will have the choice to make some websites paid or slow down the connection to some sites, it sucks but that doesn’t mean the internet won’t exist in America anymore.

Not even that but if NN gets taken down, there might be even some providers that won’t do any of this sihte I mentioned even
