Brand new, official Pokémon merch is coming to Uniqlo!

Every year popular Japanese clothing brand, Uniqlo, holds their annual UTGP t-shirt design contest; partnering with major brands and companies such as Pixar and Star Wars in the past – this year’s collaborator was none other than Nintendo! Over 16,000 entries were submitted and judged by Shigeru Miyamoto himself, but ultimately only 25 designs featuring characters and themes from Nintendo properties such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin and, of course, Pokémon, were chosen. Check out the Pokémon designs that made the cut!

The Nintendo collection will be available for purchase on Uniqlo’s online store tonight, and in physical stores worldwide starting tomorrow. More details and the other designs can be found at Uniqlo’s official site.

  2. Ehh, maybe I”m showing my age or Japanese fashion’s kinda different, but these shirts all look pretty bad. Really the only one that looks really good(for men at least) is the Animal Crossing one if only because its kind of well made for a non-english speaker.

    • Yeah I’m still not expecting anything. The most maybe being that the new line of merch is heading west, but that’s about it. Its just someone trying to drum up hype on a basis of nothing solid.

        • He’s a Dataminer yes, but he’s provided no evidence of anything. Like I said the only thing that could slightly hint at something is the 20th is the start of the new merch line, which anyone could claim will come with a new game announcement. I’m remaining skeptical since it seems highly unlikely that they would announce a new main series game that has a tie in merch line that was announced a month before the game was announced to exist. But we’ll see soon enough.

  16. I got all of the Zelda memories. Uhgggggggg I love her character so much in thisss…. I’m so glad she was fleshed out so well. Especially knowing how another game that tried to flesh out a strong female character went… one that maybe was released for the Wii? One that is part of a franchise that hasn’t had a game for it in years? One that is part of a franchise that released a spinoff that pissed everyone off at E3 2015??? 😛

  18. Whelp I’m loving Persona 5! I’m a little more than 3 hours in and have been to the first dungeon. I think I’ll have to return later tho All the adults are such assholes too hahahaha

    • Oh you’ve only scene the start of it. Not really a spoiler but the first dungeon you have to go back too like 3-4 times total at min. Pretty much how its structure works is that you need to reach the treasure, and once there you’ll have to send out a calling card to steal it on the next day and fight the boss of the dungeon. In the first games case though I think its kinda special that as soon as you reach the treasure, the next day you’ll auto send your card, and the third day you’ll fight the boss, so try to make sure you have at least three days before the timer’s up on it. With other dungeons though you might have some sort of wall you have to hit that makes you take more time to clear it. That wall pretty much acts as a treasure for the moment and will start scripted events to clearing it, usually allowing you to reach the treasure on the very next day after taking care of the wall.

      As for adults being assholes, yeah a lot of them are. Its kind of a major theme of the game and a big problem in Japan. This old idea that generally because they were worked nearly to death by their superiors, and they survived, it means that they can treat people like crap now as a reward for their hard success and the next generation will do the same. I’d guess that once you meet the Politician(the Sun), he’ll be pretty popular for ya. He’s pretty much fictional Japanese Bernie Sanders, stressing the importance of the youth and their future. But then again most of the adults that you get to know in the game are pretty great, especially Sojiro. He’s kinda great once he starts opening up a lot more and talking about his personal life.

          • As game design improves and we get better technology, one day, we will make something better. Thats how it was with Ocarina of Time. When you really think about it, the jump from Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess to Breath of the Wild is a massive one. I’m willing to wait another 10 or 20 years for something like this again.

    • Not necessarily. there could still be an announcement. Sure they’ve never announced anything at e#, but it’s not impossible. Plus if there’s any credence to the next game being on the Switch it’d be pretty likely they’d cover it during the Tree House live event they have scheduled.

    • I still don’t want to get my hopes up. I’m sure he’s privy to a lot more than the average person, but for all we know he’s just excited for something happening in HIS life and not game related. People do tweet about personal stuffing going to for them. either way I’d say stay cautious until we see anything actually to be excited about lol

Someone on Bulbagarden says that apparently PJ stated it’s not Pokemon related. I’m not sure where they got that tho as I haven’t seen PokeJungle in any way comment about this. Either way I’m not so sure we should be getting excited. Just yet lol

  36. I wish it was easier to shiny hunt Jamgmo-o, I either must MM with those long egg steps, or SOS chain, but it only brings Hakamo-o and it uses Screech.
    We need pokemon game that keeps us for a long time. So for you guys, what feature would keep you playing a pokemon game for a while after you beat the game?

        • Its a mix of things. I don’t like Gaiden, so I wasn’t going to like Echoes, I’m kinda pissed about the whole DLC issue, And in general I’m not a fan of the occasional elites badmouthing new fans acting like this is a return to Fire Emblem as it should be and treating the game like its Classic fire emblem, which it clearly isn’t in any way.

    This day was poorly planned, since my house is getting painted I decided to make today the shiny hunt
    I couldn’t stay in my car today because of heat and seeked refuge in the crummy outlet mall, which was ok, but now my DS battery grows weak so I had to either lose all mornings progress or buy a charger from GameStop and find an outlet
    And now I sit flat on the floor with molding jammed in my back waiting for my thing to charge up until later…
    I just wanna go home and find this stupid thing so my time wouldn’t be wasted…

Once again JP himself told me it’s not Pokemon related and it seems like a weird time for Nintendo to be announcing anything brand new just yet.           • I thought it was just Switch Internet being garbage. That’s a problem that needs to be fixed if that’s what is causing the communication errors.

    • It could potentially be a right’s issue. A lot of the design’s are ingame assets with only a few acceptations. Perhaps their were legal issues with using resources that were made by an existing artist.

    • Ehh, it kinda makes sense. Western and American styled things have kinda doubled down in Popularity in Japan. Heck My Hero Academia pretty much taken the number 2 slot for Jump, and its pretty heavy in American ideals. A lot of their series are resembling some of ours. Even recent games like Persona 5 were made with some American ideals with its villains having a subtext of being monsters from inside your world rather then the outside like most Japanese stories.

        Pangoro False Swipes one that are level 22 and under and switch to Scyther since they spam sand attack and mega drain so Aerial Ace always works

        their combined PP is 60 so i have 50 chances to use a single Sandygast
        then when gotten down to 20 pp mark i refresh the sandygast

    Boost the SP Defense as much as possible, Water Shuriken it to max Defense and with a Passho Berry and just be nothing but bulk and stall with Sand Tomb Infestation and Toxic because this experience taught me that Sand Tomb is just annoying

    • Can you really do anything with that nature. I would not use sand tomb just use shore up/Earth power (or infestation)/Toxic/Protect.
      OR if you want to try That greninja idea+ Anemsia with Earth Power Shore up and another move.
      Lastly, I would NOT use greninja, SpA is too high, and with stab. Try somethin different

    I remember I broke my GBA so there was a line down the left side edge. That left edge is used to tell when trainers want rematches in Emerald, so I never knew what trainers and gym leaders to rematch, so I just cycled through each gym leader and the trainers on the route next to Mauville City every time I turned on the game. Good Times.

    • In SS, I remember having a Magneton and I tried to know where to evolve it, I read it evolves in “Kanto route 13” so I spent various minutes there trying to evolve it, then I realized it said “Kalos route 13” and not Kanto. And that you can’t evolve it in HGSS ;-;

      I was just playing my SS after I restarted and in the first bush after Cherrygrove was a Shiny Weedle that I caught and I went through all the way to the first gym after the tower and my ds almost died so I turned it off as I remembered that I had that weedle frantically I rechecked to find out… That I had luckily saved right after it was captured now its a lvl.32 Beedrill in Sun and Moon

  158. Ok I just had a thought. After watching part of a theory video I saw on YouTube I got to thinking about Necrozma. Part of the video focused on the idea that maybe Necrozma is actually the creator of Z crystals. From that a thought came into my mind. what if in the next game Necrozma gets a Z move that doesn’t require a z Crystal (sort of like M Rayray) in that IT is the Z crystal? Maybe it gets a new form that allows it to use said Z move without the need of a crystal? Wouldn’t be the craziest thing in the world would it? lol

  162. So I have a funny thing to share about my Sun experience. When I was about to fight Guzma, my sibling, who was playing Moon and just fought Guzma, mentioned the main Pokemon he had. I thought they meant Scolipede instead of Golisopod for some reason, so I had my Minior first.

    Then I realized what they said just before Guzma sent out his first mon. What proceeded was half my team getting wrecked and almost losing.

          • Yes, energy/power engineering. The subject is a graduate course on electrical motor drives and all related aspects. Basically how to control a motor the way you want. But it requires significant amounts of understanding of electrical machines, control theory, numerical methods and power electronics. And even then it is some sort of introductory course on how drive systems operate, it doesn’t make you able to start designing one yourself.

      I’ve seen worse.

      It’s just multiplying a matrix by a vector and a scaling factor (which appears to be the inverse of the circumference of the cable). It just looks like there’s more than there is because instead of bidning the result of an equation to a variable they repeat the equations (like how 27 * pow(R, 6) turns up a heck of a lot).

      The stuff at the top left is just a long chain of equivalences, presumably to help people simplify the equation.

      • Yeah, you’re wright in that the matrix itself looks worse than it is (it’s a symmetrical problem so everything gets repeated often). What doesn’t help though is the use of the end result in the rest of the course, it’s literally the hardest course I’ve come across, because everything uses coupled equations and requires a lot of time to calculate parameters.

          • How many of the shrines are actually challenging though? Also dont forget more than a dozen of them dont even have a puzzle and give free orbs. Plus the 4 on the Great Plateau which basically give free orbs too

            So out of the 120, I’d say only 50 or 55 are actually semi-challenging

  182. Aww, this is kinda sweet. Anyone remember that story I mentioned about that Penguin, Grape-Kun. The Penguin that fell in love with a 2D cutout of an Anime girl that was themed around animals and put in his pen to help promote knowledge about animals in Japan. Well as it turns out, the character’s VA kinda loved the story and with Japan kinda falling in love with the silly story of the Penguin, the Zoo asked her to be a guest of Honor for a day and meet the infamous Penguin in question. And now the internet forever has this lovely photo of her holding Grape-Kun as he looks on questioning what life is anymore when he’s found out that 3D girls also exist.

  185. After watching a bunch of ARMS footage, I’m growing to dislike Byte and Barq, and I can’t see myself using them. Their movements seem too, for lack of a better word, robotic for a game like this. I guess what I’m trying to say is, the character seems to have very little agility/mobility and their movements seem to rigid for my tastes.

    So I found this kind of healthy chocolate milk thing in the pantry and was like “hmm.. yeah im pretty thirsty and I want some delicious chocolate goodness” so I take it out and star looking at the box. The instructions literally just say to pour it in a cup and stir. So I do that and I stir it for 15 seconds before realizing.. “Oh, ya know, I dont think this powder is going to magically turn into a liquid from being stirred” And so I had a cup with wasted chocolate milk powder in it because I don’t have any milk .-.

    • Truly a perfect end to Jack. Not a happy end, but Ronin’s rarely ever truly get one. But seeing everyone come back for one final fight. One last bit of banter with the scottsman. The final stand of the Spartans. Even the very first people Jack saved from Aku 50+ years ago.

      Jack’s found his peace. His journey’s come to and end. How all that remains is asking what will return next? Its kind of a given after how successful Jack’s been. First guess would be something like Symbiotic titan. Especially given its main issue for being cancelled pretty much is no longer an issue now. And with Adventure time ending next year, Regular show over, Gumball ending soonish(probably), and the state of Steven Universe always up in the air, it could be time for its return, given it always had more mature themes and could feed that market well.

    • Ehh, let them be salty. It was pretty much a perfect ending for the show. Not really happy, but it really wasn’t suppose to be. Jack’s a Ronin after all. His tale kinda has to be a tragedy. And seeing pretty much everyone still alive that has helped him grow and he had helped over the years join in battle simply when they see him in trouble was kinda great. Also hearing Mako’s voice one last time was a real high-light to me.

  203. Finally getting caught up on Samurai Jack season 5. I was planning on watching it weekly and did for the first couple of weeks, but the 3rd or 4th episode wasn’t recorded on my DVR. After that I kind of fell off telling myself that I’d get caught up soon. Now it’s over and I think it’s prolly for the best that I waited. This season is great and I’m happy I’m watching the episodes in a continuous fashion. I’m up to episode 7 I think. Jack seems to have gotten his groove back and is now gonna go on the hunt for is stuff. Gotta take a shower, but then I’ll continue lol

    I feel like they will only show and focus on 2017 games and won’t announce any game for 2018. They’ll go indepth for games already announced and maybe a small surprise fo the games themselves, but I don’t see them doing big surprises. Maybe Pokémon Stars as the big reveal for this year, but that’s the highest I’m raising expectations. So in that regard:

    – Splatoon 2: new maps and modes
    – Mario Odyssey: lots of footage, demo on the floor
    – Mario Rabbits revealed, release quarter
    – Zelda BotW: DLC explained, date announced
    – Pokémon Stars: reveal, release month, only for Switch
    – Xenoblade 2: new trailer, gameplay demo, release month revealed
    – Fire Emblem Warriors first gameplay
    – Indie sizzle real: announcing dates for Terraria, Stardew Valley, some others

    That would be it, I’m guessing no Animal Crossing, no Metroid, no F-Zero, no showing of Retro studios project, nothing crazy really.

      • No real reason too, it’s very likely a 2018 game and they will show it closer to launch later this year. They need to spread their releases out, and the heavy hitter but also more unknown games need to come later in the life cycle.

    • RPG Maker XP + Pokemon Essentials. I used to use AdvanceMap and something else I think but that was sometime before 2013 😛
      So I have experience with both, but I very much prefer using RPG Maker XP

        • I don’t think any of the programs I used let me edit the music or add tracks. You might have to do some searching online. (RPG Maker has a really simple way to do it, but I don’t know what the ROM hacking analog would be unfortunately)
