Pokémon Bank: Sun & Moon Update Still Missing

Fans of Pokémon Sun & Moon, which were released three months ago already, have been waiting to bring their favorite Pokémon to Alola… but Nintendo 3DS app Pokémon Bank necessary to do so is still not updated to support the titles. It was announced early on that players would get the ability to use Bank with Generation VII in January, but there hasn’t been any updates on progress from the Pokémon Company and there’s only a week left in the month.

Are you enjoying your newly caught Pokémon in the Alola region or are you hankering to bring over some old teammates to train and battle?

  1. Yeah seriously what the hell? I have them all in Omega Ruby and got everything ready for this update including three Zygarde for that cube to get perfect Zygarde and NOTHING

  2. Well I suppose in the mean time I should get all my pokemon ready. Its much harder to level pokemon up to level 100 in sun and moon, and it takes longer to EV train. I have 3 boxes of shinies that I suppose I should get ready.

    • are you using Poké Pelago ? because it takes a day or a bit more to max out a stat in 18 Pkm at a time. And you can also get 30.000 EXP in the same amount of time.
So I think it’s an improvement for training: you can do other things meanwhile.

      Reply
      • yeah I’m using poke pelago the only problem is my pokemon all need different spreads for their stats so I find myself putting like one in at a time, horde training was way faster and way easier imo

  3. Yeah….I really do wish they’d at least give us a date or a week to look for it. The fact that they said it was coming out this month and we are now into our final full week of the month is a bit daunting. Especially since the new Battle Spot season allows for Pokemon outside of the Alola region. You’d think that once the season started they would have wanted to at least announced when the new version of Bank was gonna come out if not release it that week in general. Hopefully it’ll come out before March this time lol

  4. Thank God( or Paul rather) ! A new article! But in regards to bank I just hope it’s not delayed and if it’s going to be in hope they at least give us a heads up.

  5. So decided to completely start my fan region with scratch so it’s more of general UK region with sub regions

Basically the only things guaranteed from the old iteration are Neuthair, Aceris and Qalaryk, everything else is presumed scratch until it isn’t, and the old starters may come back as normal Pokémon but right now are replaced

  6. Yo new Fakémon starters and the regional bird

    Horse1 > Unicorn2 > Unicorn3
    (Grass > Grass/Fairy > Grass/Fairy)

Inspiration: The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland. In my region, the sub-regions are based on the four elements, and Grass is super effective on the Scottish region’s water theme.

    Dragon1 > Dragon2 > Dragon3
    (Fire > Fire > Fire/Dragon)

Inspiration: The red dragon is the national animal of Wales. In my region, the sub-regions are based on the four elements, and Fire is super effective on the Welsh region’s earth (Grass) theme.

    Cubble > Lion2 > Lion3
    (Water > Water > Water/Ghost)

Inspiration: The lion is the national animal of England. In my region, the sub-regions are based on the four elements, and Water is super effective on the English region’s fire theme.

There’s no Irish starter because there’s three starters in a game, as well as the fact that apparently Northern Ireland doesn’t have a national animal.

    Chirpin > Robin2 > Passerene
    (Normal/Flying > Fairy/Flying > Fairy/Flying)

Inspiration: The European Robin (https://youtu.be/XTt5CaQXDD4) which numerous (inferior) birds are named after due to their own orange/red spots, despite not being in the same family as birds. Fairy is because sirens and song.

  7. Wow I’m actually running out of Fakemons….
So this was one thing I was hoping to see in Alola but didn’t

    Montiki
    The Talisman Pkm
    Grass/Rock
    Chlorophyll/Solid Rock HA: Harvest
A petite wooden bodied Chimpanzee Pokemon with moss and vines tied on its body, it has a wide toothy smile with half circle “anime” eyes and a large green rhombus shaped Jewel is embedded in their forehead
“These Pokemon are said to be born from wooden carvings that were left in jungle ruins, they scour the treetops for ripe fruits and intruders who wander into their territory often get conked”

    And their evolved form
    Kongidol
    The Effigy Pkm
    Grass/Rock
    Chlorophyll/Solid Rock HA: Harvest
A massive and muscular grey stone ape like Pokemon massive Boulder like arms with thick human hands and feet, they have a ring of green Crystals on their necks and one in their navel and forehead, they have a thick heavy brow.
“They rarely venture out of their shine like caves, they command Montiki to bring food to it everyday as offerings, when enraged they effortlessly break down towering trees, some people say that the bigger the bounty given the more the land produces”

They learn a signature attack called Juju Dust
    Juju Dust
    Grass
    Status 100% Acc
    5 PP Max
The user exhales a cloud of strange dust that causes a random status effect

One I have had as a partner since W2 came out was a very useful partner that really grew on me and its out of ordinary for my love of Speed to have slow Pokémon, but he balances well with having an arsenal of both Spec. And Phys. Attacks like Dizzy Punch, Psychic, Skill Swap, Recover, and ect. All and all making 8th, but we haven’t even dug too deep to see what lies even farther beneath my Top 10 favorites!

  10. Yay! I finally decided my full amount of Pokémon I’ll make for Thunder and Quake a nice 134, but this is before adding New Evos. And the Three mythicals with them as addition it adds up to 149 Pokémon in total (and thats with out Regional variants included)!

  11. So with Poké Bank coming soon and the rumor of Stars persisting, I’m looking back at the pre release period and holy crap its weird.

    > Probably the worst Pokémon game for leaks ever, we had the Riddler spouting his cryptic holier than thou BS, we had a small leak that talked about Lillie’s mom (Lusamine) who studied Extradimensional Pokémon (Ultra Beasts).

    >People were adamant that the simple solution could not be the right one. I’ve been a lurker for ages on many Pokémon forums, and the amount of people who screamed that SuMo wasn’t Hawaii is staggering due to the small hints we had gotten (strange souvenir, palm trees, rainbow license plate, the Vivillon in the trailer) and the amount of people who denied Popplio was Fairy despite being given a Fairy move right after believable leaks were posted were just mad

    >They’re getting a separate paragraph, the starter leaks. Holy fuck, people got intense as shit over this. Understandable at first, but as Popplio got a move that fit perfectly into its proposed evo, it was still surprising people were saying there was no chance they were real. Then Mallow was revealed, and people still denied it. Fair enough, they could’ve been concepts, but still. But when the middle evos were revealed and it matched up so well (Dartrix gaining spotted wings and having two leaf tails between Rowlet’s one and the leaked ewo’s two, Brionne becoming feminine, Torracat’s Bell being a perfect precursor to its evos belt), the minority that believed they were still fake looked crazy as fuck.

  12. You decide what I play first before BotW releases! These are all games I still didn’t complete, so normally I can’t go wrong with either of them.

    FFXV
Phoenix Wright Spirit of Justice Case 3-5
    Fire Emblem Fates
    The Last Guardian
    Majora’s Mask
    Tokyo Mirages Sessions
Twilight Princess HD (completed the original though)
    The Witcher 3
Xenoblade Chronicles – Only at Ether mines
    XBX – Five hours in

I’d actually want to go for XBC as I really liked that game and I need to finish it before XB2 comes out. But it requires 80 hours of my time which is a bit offputting to be honest :(. Not that the rest is much shorter when added together.

Pokedex Entry: Dragker are rather docile and rarely attack unless provoked. They are extremely brave for their size and never back down from a fight, no matter how disadvantageous it is. Although some people fish this Pokemon, they are usually thrown back to sea due to the respect people have for this. Sometimes they are caught by trainers and will only obey if respect is on both sides.

    Pokedex # 228
    Name: Swordrake
    Classifiation: The Swordfish Pokemon
    Height: 4’08

    Speed: 100
    Base Stats: 400
Pokedex Entry: Armed with a much sharper blade than its past self, this pokemon swims through the ocean fearlessly, cutting all obstacles in its path. It seems as if this pokemon is still getting used to this form and cannot control its power and impulses very well. They are still being domesticated to the level of Sharpedos. Due to their swimming pattern, they can be very difficult to ride.

    Pokedex # 229
    Name: Marlong
Classification: The Mythical Blade Pokémon m

    BST: 600
Pokedex Entry: Sleek, strong, majestic, silent. With a single lunge, Marlong can rip an entire fleet of ships apart. Marlong are incredibly strong and a Pokemon seldom raised by trainers. A trainer who has one usually has a scar on their body in some place due to a training session gone wrong or several other reasons. A trainer with more scars has likely had a very strong relationship with the Marlong.

Number nine on my list is Slaking, who has the highest base stat total of all non legendary Pokemon. Recently, I just used a Slaking on my Emerald run, named Lola, and it was an absolute monster. Combine it with a Silk Scarf and Hyper Beam (or Giga Impact, depending on what generation you’re playing), and you got yourself the most powerful move of all time. It one shouted everything in Emerald; Juan’s Kingdra, Drake’s Salamence, Wallace’s Milotic (and that thing was 8 levels higher!), etc. It’s like the Pokemon equivalent of a kamehameha. It saved me so many times in game, and it’s sheer power in Attack was very powerful. However, one drawback it has is Truant, so that doesn’t make it higher on my list.
Overall, one of my favorites to hail from Hoenn.

  19. Yo here’s my regional bird

    Name: Chirpin (Chirp + Robin)
    Species: Tiny Robin Pokémon
    Type: Normal/Flying
    Ability: Big Pecks/Cute Charm/Normalise
    Evolves at Level 17

Appearance: It’s a European Robin as a Pokémon. Except the red/orange is a more profound red and its an upside down heart shape.

Acid: This Pokémon’s song is said to be a good luck charm, and it’s thus customary to have bird Pokémon feeders in one’s garden to offer to Chirpin.

Base: Chirpin and Fletchling are surprisingly not closely related. Fletchling has effectively driven Chirpin out of Kalos due to being more popular there, thus leaving Chirpin as the hunting option ages ago.

Equilibrium: In *PokéBritain*, Chirpin is unafraid of humans and is thus a common pet and even starting Pokémon. The more trust Chirpin has, the happier its song.

    Name: Ariabin (Aria + Robin)
    Species: Enchanting Pokémon
    Type: Fairy/Flying
    Ability: Big Pecks/Cute Charm/Pixilate
Evolves with Affection (Past Level 34)

Appearance: Bigger Chirpin, but now has love heart shaped nostrils and a bit bigger. Also, in front of its leg, short tufts of feather protrude to give the image or a short robe.

Acid: It’s said that Ariabin, metaphorically, had the biggest heart of all Pokémon. It showers all it loves with its care, wether it be its chicks, its teammates, or its owner.

Base: Ariabin can move people to tears when it puts all its effort into signing. Its enchanting voice can intensify passionate emotions such as love and hate.

Equilibrium: If your marriage is accompanied with the natural cry of an Ariabin, it’s said you’re destined to live a long, prosperous marriage.

    Name: Passerene
    Species: Enchanting Pokémon
    Type: Fairy/Flying
    Ability: Big Pecks/Cute Charm/Pixilate
Mega Evolves with Passerenium (details later)

Appearance: Bigger Ariabin, but with a slightly longer beak and slightly longer legs, as well as its tail becoming three overlapping, stretched heart shapes. The robe hints intensify.

Acid: This Pokémon will fight to the death if a loved one is threatened. The stronger its emotions, the more passionate its song.

Base: For a Passerene to evolve, it must feel an intense love of any form, romantic, platonic, or familial. Thus, it’s a rare sight in the wild.

Equilibrium: This Pokémon’s vocal chords may as well be puppet strings, as its song can manipulate the heart, soul and mind. It only uses this to its fullest potential as a last resort.

    Base Stat total: 600
Pokedex Entry: (Benevolent) Symopposite flies around with its mirror and tends to all it sees in need. By simply touching the mirror, it can pull many different things through it. In the case of this form, it can pull out comfort objects, medicines, or even essentials for health. Despite this , it has a form that is equally as terrifying as it normally is kind.
Pokedex Entry: (Malevolent) Symopposite breaks its mirror and wears the pieces on its body as weapons. A shard is always attached to its arms to use like swords when in combat. It will hunt down anything that had brought it harm during its previous form and enact revenge, nearly cutting them to pieces. It is known for wearing a terrifying grin as it brutally onslaughts its foes. Despite its rather sadistic nature, it is said to have a nicer side.

    Mines a Female Herdier
Its a memorial to my Dog Sophie who died Black Friday November 28, 2014, and I found on that very day my first Lillipup it happened to be a girl I caught it, and named it Sophie to live on after her passing, then she evolved into Herdier and I gave her an Everstone to keep her like a regular dog forever. I keep her close and use her for training weaker Pokémon in battles. Now I must find my AS to get her back

    Now whats yours?

    • That is such a heart warming story, especially that it was to honor your late dog.

As for me, my most treasured Pokemon is actually one that’s stuck on my copy of Battle Revolution. It’s a funny story XD
When I first played Pokemon, it was around the Gen 4 area that I really began to play. The first one that I ever beat was my Soulsilver copy, which I had a Meganium as a starter. The nickname I gave was “Grass King” lol. Anyway, Grass King had the weirdest move set ever:
      -Frenzy Plant
      -Aromatherapy
      -Strength
      -Cut
Back then I was a noob, so don’t ask me why I had this move set lmao. But the reason why this is my most treasured Pokemon was because a year or two after I had got SoulSilver, I lost it sadly, along with my data of Grass King. I was so distraught because I lost the Pokemon I finally beat an Elite Four with, and all the handwork and data into it. And Grass King was the first true starter I ever had. We went through so much together, fighting Whitney, getting our asses handed by Clair and Koga, struggling against Lance, etc.
Fast-foward to a few months ago, which was about October. When I was hanging out in the basement, I discovered the Wii and Battle Revolution, so I decided to hook up the Wii and play it. When I booted up the first profile, I checked up on everything and found a box of some Pokemon from my sibling’s HG and my SS. One of them was Grass King.
Apparently, before I lost SS, I guess I transported my SS Pokemon from Pearl onto there, so Grass King’s data was saved. When I realized this, I was so happy, almost crying to see my old starter is still saved (in a way) and I might be able to get it back.

  26. I’m bored. Let’s begin speculating about Nintendo’s E3 2017!
-Lots of Super Mario Odyssey gameplay (already confirmed)
-Sales recap for the first 3 months of Switch
-Xenoblade Chronicles 2 gameplay (no release date because of likely 2018 release).
-Yes, it’s time: Animal Crossing Switch fully revealed for an early 2018 release. It has to happen.
-Metroid teaser! But it won’t come until summer 2018.
-Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch gets a huge presence with multiple new fighters, amiibo, the whole nine yards. Releases in September!
    -Pokemon Stars footage
-Pikmin Switch reboot teaser for 2018. Also, new footage and full reveal of the 3DS game!
-Brand-new IP for release in 2018. Switch will have 3 new IPs to support: Arms, Splatoon, and this one! (Maybe it could be Aonuma’s thief game?)
-Third party support, including Rayman-Mario RPG.
-Other random guesses: new Wario Land, Kid Icarus, Duck Hunt RPG, etc.

    • Going down the list:
      1. Yeah, likely to happen
      2. Seems realistic if they can get those numbers early enough.
      3. Hard to call since its slated right now for 2017. I can see it as a fall.holiday release however since 3D mario game’s don’t sell the best.
      4. Probably going to happen, but I’d more expect something about that animal crossing mobile if it’s not released sooner.
      5. Probably since Reggie teased it already.
      6. Likely that we’re getting a port, but I doubt we’d see any new characters coming to it. Simply it wouldn’t really be worth putting in new characters to an older game(given the amount of dev cost it takes to make characters) and would be better suited to holding them off until the next proper smash game(smash 5).
      7. 50% chance its real, 50% chance that its about as real as pokemon Z. 100% chance that it’ll probably be $60 USD, play very differently from most pokemon games and probably have a reasonably lower install base then Sun and Moon.
      8. Probably.
      9. Can’t really comment on it. Another new ip out of the game might be a tad overkill, but everyone has their own idea of what’s best for Nintendo.
      10. Probably 3rd party support, but honestly how much you wanna bet that this is yet another case of Chrom being playable in smash or their being a snowman pokemon and someone simply saw footage of Mario and assumed that it was a rayman game due to it having similar looking rabbits.
      11. Other then Kid Icarus, probably not likely. More likely would be another Warioware game since it could work well with the joycons, but that’s just a guess.

Solid guesses over all, and its nice to see things that really can’t be on the system like Red dead, or Final Fantasy aren’t listed among third parties.

      • Wow, I appreciate all of your thoughts! I’m not very confident in a lot of my predictions, but for some reason, I really strongly believe that Smash for Switch will get a huge appearance at the show. I think it will be the game with the most booths as Nintendo tries to further integrate itself into the eSports scene. I see them pairing that with Super Mario Odyssey as their headline games this holiday season (maybe Pokemon as well, who knows?) I do predict they’re going to go a little heavy on the teasers (at least compared to their previous years, not in comparison to PS4/XB1) in order to get people excited about the future of their platform, on top of everything coming this year.
