Starter Showdown 2015 Results
The polls have closed and the results tallied. The favourite Starter Pokémon of our readers has been chosen.
After a month of voting our readers have chosen their top Starter Pokémon. Despite coming in first place on the site poll, Charmander took second place overall, falling behind on Twitter. Cyndaquil also comes in joint second place with an equal share of votes.
First place goes to the third generation Water-type Starter Pokémon, Mudkip! Despite a slow start (Snivy was looking to take top spot early in the vote) Mudkip eventually pulled ahead into second place on the site poll and took distant lead along with Cyndaquil over on Twitter.

Now that our 2015 Starter Showdown is over and we have our winner, we’d like to know what our readers would like to see in our next Showdown! Should it be the Legendary Showdown, or maybe a Spin-off Showdown? Give us your ideas in the comments below!

Honestly, I hope this gets shut down. All it would do is detract from 3DS sales. Why don’t people just go out and buy a 2DS and X or Y. It’s only about $140 dollars. :/

Still, it doesn’t take that long to save up for one; no matter your status in life. Pirating products is just as bad as stealing it!
Maybe late reply, but emulation isn’t the same as piracy. It still is going to take at least a year before there even is sound and the 3DS will be replaced this or next year. Emulation offers several benefits such as higher resolution, anti-aliasing and most of all a better framerate. Emulation freaks like me just buy cartridges, and dump them instead of pirating the roms. I have a Wii, Wii U, 3DS, n3DS but I still reguarly play Xenoblade 1 on my PC, it’s just a wonderful gorgeous game. 😉
Oh wow, didn’t think an emulator for the 3DS would come within its lifespan.

I gotta say I was never really a fan of professors. Oak is a senile old man, elm is a wimp, birch is ok, rowan was a bad ass, juniper was purposely made to just look hot, and same with sycamore

Professors wouldn’t work because there would have to be more than one Professor for each region for there to be more rounds.
The best thing would be a Region vs Region thing!
Each battle would have 5 rounds. Starters overall, Prof, Evil Team, Elite 4 and Landscape or something. Who wins 3 out of 5 rounds wins.

Well I’m disappointed…….I wanted Piplup to win. Nothing against Mudkip,but it’s just not my favorite. Either way congratulation to the Kips!

But I wonder what would be the deciding factors:Design, Type specialization, Signiture Pokemon, team difficulty and their badges
Also I feel that the anime might sway some votes (or their Waifu appeal)
Let’s rate them on hotness I like that idea. Let’s see what character was blessed the most by the design team to have the best drawn lines, curves and shading.

Also for most of the ideas that people are thinking of, like this one, we will need Unova 1 and Unova 2

So, a 3DS emulator called “Citra” can now play X/Y with 10 fps and a couple graphical glitches but runs menus pretty much on full speed. Thoughts?
